“Taylor did a great job with my herd of fur babies! She stayed overnight with them and played with them. She sent pictures during her stay and communicated with me the whole time. I would definitely book her again in a heartbeat!”
“Aicha has been so great with our dog. He has had some special needs at times and she is always accommodating and responsive with updates. We have had both last minute done drop requests and in-home stays and she has been awesome to work with. Highly recommend.”

“Such a sweet sweet girl. Incredibly trustworthy and reliable. Took such great care of my two huskies, giving special attention to our unique needs. Go3s above and beyond. Worth every penny.”

“My dog loves visits with Lez D. I know she is in excellent and kind hands. Lez D goes on walks, gives cuddles and plays with my pup. It eases my mind when I have to go out of town. Thank you so much.”

“Erika was the best. It was my first time leaving Burton with a sitter. She sent me updates via text and was very kind and caring. I would request her again when I visit the area again.”

“Sydney was the best sitter we’ve ever had for milo. She sent us frequent updates and photos of our little guy and I felt complete peace of mind knowing Milo was so happy and safe with her.”

“Niiyah is amazing. She is so communicative, kind, caring, and reliable. One of my cats likes to eat strings, and even when they're kept away from him, things happen and he gets access to them - like blinds breaking and falling down (suspected to be from my other cat knocking them down). Niiyah told me right away when one of the blinds broke and when there was a possibility that Ellie ate part of it, and was so kind and willing to take him to the emergency vet when we were worried about him. Even with my cats needing twice daily medications, to be fed 3 times a day, the ER visit, and facilitating house tours by making sure the cats were secured in a pop-up tent (we were moving out soon and our landlady wanted to give tours while we were away), she still offered to watch Peach and Ellie again. If we hadn't just moved 3 hours away, we would request to book her services again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for everything, Niiyah!”

“Cheryl was great with my two dogs and cat. Followed their routines, sent daily photos and updates and left my house cleaner than when I left! I would definitely book her again.”

“Melinda was a great pet and house sitter! Our Malamute and two cats all have special dietary restrictions and multiple medications, and she took such wonderful care of them while we were away. We loved the daily pictures and updates she would send. She also made sure the house was nice and clean for us when we got back from our long trip. Thank you Melinda!”
“Fatima was absolutely amazing with our Teddy. She was so patient and kind with him. She took great care of our home, washed the sheets, and she even brought up the trash cans after trash day! She sent so many photos and I loved that so much! Trustworthy, kind and great communication! I will definitely book her again.”

“This is our 3rd time booking Jazmine. I had no doubts during the 3 weeks she was doing 2x a day visits for our 4 cats that she was doing an amazing job taking care of our kitties! She spent plenty of time playing with them, cleaning their litterbox and water fountain, and also went above and beyond with keeping our home tidy while we were away. One of our new cats is really shy but warmed up to Jazmine and started playing! When we had an ant infestation, she was willing to come during the times our pest control could make it so she could help make sure the cats were put away. I’m so glad we found Jazmine and have someone we know we can trust to provide great care to our cats when we’re away! It’s always such a relief coming home with everything taken care of and happy cats. Will definitely continue rebooking, thanks Jazmine!”

“My first time using a pet sitter and service. Raina responded to my inquiry within minutes and set up a meet and greet for the following day. Raina accepted the in house sitting for 5 days. Raina sent at least two photos every day showing Ralphie being himself which put me at ease. When I returned, the house was clean and taken care of. I'd definitely rebook with Raina again.”

“Apsen did a phenomenal job taking care of Phoebe, my cattle dog mix, while I was out of town. She sent photos every day and was easy to communicate with. Not only does she love animals, but she is clearly knowledgeable about them as well. We came back to a happy pup and a clean home. I would certainly book with Aspen again and would 100% recommend her services.”

About: I have had experience in dog sitting and walking puppies! I have always wanted a dog but just do not have the room for it at home so pet sitting for friends has always been something I have loved doing! Currently, I am working part-time and I am a college student. However, my shifts are never longer than 4 hours. My services are available all week! I make sure to care for pets with as much love as I can! Seeing a stranger come into your home can be daunting so I try to be as graceful as possible when meeting and interacting with the clients pets!
“Michelle did a great job watching both my dogs. I will definitely rebook her in the future. I highly recommend Michelle. She was reliable, consistent, and was excellent with my dogs!”

“Alexis was the best! We would totally recommend and can’t wait to use her again. She was so communicative and really went above and beyond. She sent updates, followed the instructions we left, and even washed and remade the bed before leaving. Brisket loved the snuggles and daily walks.”

“We appreciated Brandy’s thoughtful and responsible care for our three babes!! It was clear that they each felt loved, while we were away, and Brandy updated us with any questions or happenings as necessary. We truly felt at ease leaving her in charge with our fur babes and home!! Thank you Brandy!!”

Cheryl is a sweet lady and did a great job taking care of our dog and home. She sent pictures and gave updates multiple times/day and even sent us a video! Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Foothill Farms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Foothill Farms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Foothill Farms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
