“It is an absolute pleasure and relief to continuously have Melissa to call upon to give care to our family, our home, and our senior dog. We know our important pet is in great hands, receiving love and care with Melissa!”

“Tanya is awesome and so very sweet. Very attentive and always kept in touch. Sent lots of pictures which was very reassuring. Will definitely plan to have her take care of my pets.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing experience with our pet sitter! Her communication was outstanding from start to finish. She always responded promptly, kept us updated with pictures, and checked in whenever she had a question or wanted to clarify something. We really appreciated her willingness to ask rather than make assumptions—it showed how much she cared about providing the best care possible. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, and it was clear that she genuinely loves animals. Our pets absolutely adored her, and we could tell from the photos and updates that they were happy, comfortable, and receiving lots of attention while we were away. Knowing our furry family members were in such caring and capable hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. We are so grateful for the excellent care she provided and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, communicative, and compassionate pet sitter. We would happily book with her again! ❤️🐾”

“Alexis was great! She was available for a last minute quick trip and was able to make time to come over and meet my dog and go over everything before I left. I came home to a happy and healthy little boy with no issues at all!”

“Our two pups loved Morgan! We are so happy we found her, she took amazing care of our home as well as our dogs. We loved the pictures she sent and how often she checked in with us. Best pet care we have had in a long time. We look forward to having her again soon 💕”

“Alexa was great! Very communicative - sent photos and videos daily - and quick to respond to messages. She washed the bed sheets and kept the house and pups in good order. Would definitely book again!”

About: I am very comfortable with animals. I have a deep love and affection for them. I will learn their routines, needs and any other nuances. I am working part time. Mostly mornings. Thankfully my schedule is flexible. I am starting school online soon, as long as I have my laptop, I can go anywhere. I am unable to host animals. I have two senior cats at home who have become very needy in their old age! My mom and I keep up with their feedings, cleaning their litter and everything else that comes with tending to the two of them. They are loved and doted on. I will do the same for your pets.
“I have always had bad anxiety whenever leaving my fur babies, but Ben made me feel SO comfortable about taking care of my kitties! He sent detailed updates every single night about the day along with handfuls of pictures! One of our kitties is also very difficult when it comes to strangers, and he handled her like a genuine cat/animal lover would: with patience and understanding. Another 5 star review for Ben, we will for sure be using him again in the future! Thank you, Ben!”

About: I grew up with dogs and a cat so I am very comfortable around pets and understand what pets require. I am detail oriented and good with specific instructions. One of my dogs has several disabilities, so I am familiar with injury care and the importance of issuing proper medications and feeding schedules! I am comfortable around animals and love to provide them with a safe and secure environment while their family is away. I am currently a university student who will be in Roseville until late August and then will return to Rohnert Park! I have a few trips planned this summer but otherwise will be available in Roseville! I care for pets in client’s homes by making sure to follow any instructions given to me by the client, and make sure I clearly understand all expectations. I am easy to reach and communicate with, so you can check in on your pets throughout the time you are away.
About: I have always had pets growing up, cats, dogs and lizards. I also worked at a veterinarian hospital for 5 years. I know how to give all kinds of medicine and have done so for many of my own animals over the years. I work full time, however I take care of my own dog and also my family's dog. And often go over and walk, babysit, feed and watch overnight. I walk, fed and medicate all of mine and my family's animals as needed. Specials diets, medicine and extra walks when they are required for the pets.
About: I raised two lovely little chihuahua boys from puppy days to their senior years. They were my best boys. Both have passed in the last two years and I’m looking to temporarily care for another family’s pup(s) like they were my own. Throughout my youth, we had multiple family dogs including a pit-bull, german shepherds, and various types of small dogs. I can feed, bathe, diaper, and snuggle the most difficult of doggies. I work from home full-time on a fully flexible schedule and am available for various types of care in my home. I can easily manage daycare or overnights as needed. Your pet will be the center of our family in your absence. I have plenty of space in my home to make your furbaby comfortable.
About: Hello😊 my name is Alexis! I am 29 and I have been doing rover for over 3 years now. I have two dogs, Hazel and Zoey, and a cat named Todd. They’re my family and are part of my everyday life. I understand how hard it is to leave your pets, because I’ve been on both sides as a pet owner and Rover sitter. I have lifelong experience caring for animals, from small pets to horses, and I’ve worked in vet offices as a vet tech👩⚕️. I’m comfortable administering medications, including pills and insulin, and handling special care needs. My goal is simple, I want you to have a stress free experience and your pup(s) to feel safe, happy and at home while you’re away🏡🐶 I’m currently in a master’s program with classes only two evenings a week, so my schedule is flexible for boarding and daycare stays. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I’d love to meet you and your pup! I currently work from home and my schedule is 8am-4pm. I take my dogs on daily walks on my breaks as well as after work. I have a fenced in yard with two dogs and a cat. My dog sleeps inside with me and I feed my animals twice a day which I can do with your animal as well unless otherwise advised.
“We Highly recommend Johanna! She recently watched our three dogs (who can be a handful) and did an outstanding job. She provided frequent media updates, followed all instructions perfectly, and left the house in pristine condition. She is reliable, communicative, and our dogs loved her."”

“Omg thank u soooo much Deanna. My dogs were in such good moods when I came home- soft and happy! Thank you for taking care of everything 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 one of my boys needs extra behavioral attention on walks. Deanna was fantastic. I highly recommend. She’s a gem!!!!”

About: Hi I’m Seanna! I grew up with all types of animals, cats dogs, goats and more. Life isn’t the same without a furrbaby in it. Over the years I have learned to bottle feed, potty train, and teach animals basic obedience. My friends and family know how great I am with animals they have ways relied on me to take care of their pets when they are out of town or working. Not only have I taken great care of my own babies I have taken care of others. I’ve been by my pets sides when they come into the world and when they leave. I have experience with puppies, kittens and senior cats and dogs. Honestly I’d rather hang out with animals all day rather than people lol, they have the biggest hearts and souls. I have more free time now since it’s winter, the slow season. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I am free all day, on Sundays I’m free after 4 and the rest of the days after 5pm. I know the anxiety of leaving your pet when going on vacation or even just for the day at work, and i promise you your furrbaby will be safe in my hands. If you don’t have a fenced yard I will make sure your dog is on leash when we are outside at all times, and I don’t feel comfortable even leaving a dog alone outside in a fenced yard so when your pup Is outside I will be too. I know cpr for both cats and dogs. I also understand some pets are not as social able and I will never push any boundaries.
“Alexis is fantastic! Immediately I noticed she had a nice peaceful energy, which is really important for my nervous girl. She gave me unprompted morning and evening updates with pictures, and never once did I worry or wonder how things were going. My home was also just as clean as I’d left it when I returned. Will absolutely be booking with her again, and for the long run! Thank you Alexis, Ms. Millie was so happy spending time with you! <3”

“Found Bella on a last minute panic and had to cheat on our regular sitter. And she was more than I could have ever expected and honestly better!!!!She really made our nervous kid feel comfortable, spent so much time with her and went above and beyond. Diff recommend and I will rebook with her”

Desirae was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our home and took such wonderful care of our pets! It was clear from the updates and photos that they were all loved, well cared for, and comfortable while we were away. Knowing Desirae was taking care of both our pets and our home gave us complete peace of mind. She was reliable, communicative, and treated everything with so much care and respect. We came home to happy pets and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn’t recommend Desirae more highly. If you’re looking for someone who is kind, trustworthy, and truly cares for your animals like they’re her own, she’s the one. We will definitely be asking her to pet sit for us again!

Christina was great with my pets. She did pet sitting in my house when I was on vacation for a week. She was reliable, great communicator and my pets were comfortable with her. She provided me with daily updates and photos and I felt relieved that my fur babies were doing great while I was away. When I came back, the house was in immaculate condition and the pets were happy. I would definitely recommend her and I will use her services again.

Natalie did a great job watching our two 10 month old Golden Retriever puppies and taking care of the house while we were gone. She kept us updated daily with pictures, which we really appreciated. The boys were well exercised, fed and happy when we got back, clearly they were in good hands. Everything at the house was perfect as well. We’d definitely use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you again Natalie!!

One of the two best sitters we've ever had, over decades. Our mini-Aussie and cat loved her from her from the start. At our request, she kept in touch each day of our six day trip, with updates and pictures of our dog and cat. She also watered our large garden every day. Our washing machine actually died just before our trip, sending water all over the laundry floor. She continued to clean up the overflow water and coordinated and supervised the plumber's visit! (It could have been a very anxious distraction on our trip - but thanks to Piper, it wasn't.) We'll be reaching out to Piper for our next trip - and we hope she's free! R&P, Santa Rosa

Helen took such good care of our dog and our house while we were on a 2 week vacation. We had never been away from our boy for that long and we wanted someone who would love on him as much as we do. We definitely found the right person with Helen! She took him to parks, snuggled with him on the couch, and even bought him some new toys. The regular photos and updates she sent put our minds and hearts at ease so we could truly enjoy our vacation. And our house was spotless and vegetable garden thriving when we returned. We are so grateful for Helen and will definitely book her again. She is the BEST!

Madeline did a great job helping with our pets. She was very communicative and sent pictures throughout her time with our two dogs. She was flexible with her schedule to fit our needs and did a great job taking care of them. I highly recommend Madeleine and will ask her to take care of our two dogs in the future.

Olesia was a wonderful sitter! She really took the time to understand Pixie and her special schedule and needs. She went above and beyond to ensure Pixie was getting the best care. She gave me many updates and picitures. I definitely recommend her to anyone needing a sitter. I would love her to take care of my Pixie again in the future ❤️

FAQs for House Sitting - Roseville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Roseville on Rover is $59.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,830 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Roseville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roseville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roseville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roseville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roseville. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
