“Wow! This was our first time working with Deborah and she was fantastic. We have three big dogs, an aging cat, and a snake and I’ve never seen them so relaxed and content after coming home from a long trip. The house and plant also look great. Five stars! We will definitely rebook with Deborah. 🐾🐾🐾”

“Cayla did a great job making sure Dottie was fed, took her meds and had walks morning and evenings. She was in communication and was able to follow all directions for my spoiled little girl.”

“Meredith took great care of our home and our dogs. She took our dogs on multiple walks, and we hear there were lots of snuggles in between! We had a relaxed time away from home because we knew Meredith had us covered! Thank you, Meredith!”

“Wow!!! Anastassia was amazing!!! She went above and beyond. The basic things were there, sticking to schedule, sending pictures and keeping me updated. But so much more than that! My pup had to take some medicine and she made sure he got what he needed! She also ended up taking out the trash, cleaning and even organized my fridge (there were very few things in there but she still organized it all). I cannot speak highly enough. I will be booking her again next time I need someone to stay with my pup. Highly recommend. 10/10!”

About: Hi! I’m Betty and I’m new to the Sacramento area! I’d love to meet the local pets and get to now the best parks and trails to take with your pups/kitties! Friendly with non traditional pets too! Snakes, tarantulas, geckos, birds, fish, etc. Currently 1 month out from graduation and have an open schedule to meet all your pets needs! I look forward to many walks and cuddling time with the doggies! I’m very energetic and can match the high energy dogs! I love to play fetch, keep away, and tug o war with the pets on my drop ins! My goal is to tire the doggies out before the visit is over :) The most important thing for me is forming a bond with the pets and safety of course! This would involve long walks and tons of cuddle time as well had following house rules :)

About: I have over 35 years experience handling and caring for dogs and cats. I am a medical assistant and emt and have treated many wounds and ailments on animals as well. Ranch raised kid that has also raised four kids of my own out in the country. I am comfortable with all dog sizes and puppies too. Currently, I am available any days of the week anytime. I just moved to this area and have not secured employment yet and I’m thinking about going back to school. I have my own reliable transportation. I do not offer pet sitting in my home unless it is a small dog. I prefer to housesit and care for pets in their own environment. I love to walk and hike and I love to take dogs with me. I love the outdoors
“Kassandra was wonderful ! Very communicative and sent us pictures. We were so comfort ow with her taking care of our doggies. Thank you so much! Look forward to having you back soon !”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our pups, Ragnar and Rollo, received over the weekend! From the moment we met, it was clear they were in great hands. Daily updates and photos gave us total peace of mind, and it was obvious the boys were relaxed, happy, and well loved. Everything was handled with care—feeding, walks, playtime, and even a little extra attention to their quirks. We came home to two very content dogs and a spotless house. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter!”

“Lacee was everything we were looking for in a house sitter and a dog sitter. She is reliable, responsible, and a proactive communicator. She took great care of our 3 active dogs and kept us informed. I highly recommend her and will use her services again.”

About: What sets me apart is a lifetime of hands-on experience and a genuine bond with dogs. While I haven’t worked as a professional dog sitter before, I’ve been caring for dogs since I was seven years old. I’m now 32, and throughout my life, I’ve had a Maltese, an English Setter, and a Gordon Setter. My setters were hunting dogs, so I’m comfortable with energetic, intelligent breeds that need both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’ve trained them in basic obedience, manners, and recall, and I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and clear boundaries. I’ve cared for both small and large dogs, and I’m experienced with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, and making sure they feel safe, calm, and loved. I can also teach simple commands and fun tricks like sit, stay, lie down, roll over, spin, and shake. I am a Spanish woman who moved to Folsom with my husband a year ago. I am a great animal lover and I have had dogs since I was little. In my childhood, I lived with two setters: an English setter and a Gordon setter, and a Maltese bichon. This has given me experience with both large and small dogs. Now, although we cannot have one of our own, I would love to care for others, as I greatly enjoy their company. My daily routine is flexible, and I have full availability to adapt to the needs of clients and their pets. I fully adapt to each pet’s needs. I am very attentive and will always ensure the dog has food, water, and is comfortable. If I notice something is wrong, I address it immediately. I handle walks carefully, avoiding direct sun, and if bathing is needed, I do so with experience, using proper shampoos and conditioners, especially for long coats. I can also brush them. If a vet visit is required, I will take care of it. Additionally, I love playing with dogs and making sure they feel calm and happy when their owners are away. In short, I handle all the care a dog needs with attention and affection.

“My dog took an instant liking to Mira. Mira looked after our dog at our home and we felt completely at ease with her. Not only is she a lovely person, but she also made sure our dog was well looked after in every way. I was really pleased to receive regular photos from her so I could see how well our dog was doing. Ten out of ten”

Micheal was kind, neat and respected our home. He followed our instructions and most important he took great care of our wonderful pet. They bonded and Micheal sent us pictures daily of our pet. Micheal took the stress away while not being our pet Chica. Thank you Micheal you did a great job.”

About: I’ve had many animals as part of my family, raising them from infancy and all the way through the life cycle. My home has always had cats and dogs, with the occasional other animal added to the mix. I have been professionally pet-sitting for the last couple years now and have cared for hundreds of pets (although I am fairly new to Rover). I treat your home and animals as though they were my own, with all of my respect and love. Pet sitting is my favorite job ever! It is my only job right now, although I also take college courses occasionally. I drive my child to and from school, so I do pet-sitting close to home around that. I am a night owl at heart and have no problem with late-night visits, but can also do visits before 8am when necessary. I start out meeting you and your animal(s). You show me what is most important to you and them, and I follow your instructions while also providing much-needed attention and affection to your loved ones while you are away.

This was our first time having Cayla caring for our fur babies and it was a great experience. She was able to adjust to a last minute schedule change which was a life saver! The dogs seemed happy in her care and she was great with pictures and following up. We definitely would recommend her!
Debbie was very wonderful caring for my lab and 3 foster dogs. 4 dogs with different needs can be difficult but it didn’t phase Debbie. She gave meds and even bathed my dog with allergies several times. She was great at doing anything that made the dogs comfortable. Debbie was communicative with updates. My dogs were relaxed when I got home. It felt like they had a vacation too! Will definitely hire Debbie again.

Once again, my cats and dog had a wonderful weekend with Ronni! She never fails to make them feel safe and cozy when we go out of town. This week the cats have been tussling a little bit and she was able to manage them both and the dog with ease. They are so comfortable with her! We are so grateful to have found Ronni and she will always be our first choice for a sitter!

We booked Alysia to house sit our two dogs and cat with only a few days notice. She kept us updated and sent pictures while we were away and was incredible with our pets and our home. We will absolutely be booking her again in the future and highly recommend her to others.

Mira was absolutely amazing for our dogs this weekend. Her level of professionalism and standard she holds herself to is very high. She had a great line of communication with us and continued to keep us in the loop daily about how our animals were doing. We will 100% be looking forward to having her dog sit for us again in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Mayah taking care of our dog Bumblebee! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared a lot about our sweet pup. It gave us peace of mind knowing Bumblebee was in good hands while we were out for the evening. She kept us updated, followed all instructions, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. We would absolutely recommend her and will happily book with her again!

She took such great care of our pups! We have one old lab who is pretty blind and deaf and moving slower, Sarah was very patient and sweet with her which we appreciate so much! She also braved the chilly weather to get our younger one out for exercise! We will definitely use her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Folsom on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 2,726 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Folsom. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Folsom walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Folsom maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Folsom choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Folsom. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
