About: I genuinely love being around dogs and have been trusted by friends and family to care for their pets many times over the years. I’m reliable, easy to communicate with, and focused on making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Caring for pets has been part of my life through helping friends and family with their dogs over the years. With graduation coming up and a flexible summer schedule, I'm excited to spend more time doing something I really enjoy. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal. I focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment. I follow the owner's instructions carefully, making sure their pet receives plenty of attention and care, whether they re staying with me or I'm caring for them in their own home.
“Brandie stayed at my house for 4 days with my dog and 3 cats. She left the house in great condition and even watered my plants and brought in my mail. She is a natural with animals. My dog developed a tight connection with her and she did a great job taking care of him even in the very warm weather. She was great with the cats as well; playing with them and tending to their needs. I appreciate that she kept the dog and cats apart as they do not like each other. I highly recommend Brandie for your pet sitting and dog walking needs.”

About: I have over 3 years of experience dog sitting for more than 8 regular clients. I am highly flexible, reliable, and open to accommodating your schedule. I am also comfortable administering oral medications (pills) if your pet requires them. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to check in, feed, and play with their dogs, and I treat every pet like my own! I am a full-time pet sitter and an online college student, which means my schedule is incredibly open and flexible! Because I study from home, I am around almost all day to provide constant supervision, companionship, and plenty of potty breaks and playtime for your pets. I have grown up around dogs and cats my entire life, giving me a lifetime of hands-on experience. I personally own two large Mastiff breeds—a Cane Corso and a Boerboel—as well as a cat, all of whom I’ve successfully raised and cared for over the last 4 to 7 years. My home features a secure, fenced yard where your pet can safely play. Because I am highly experienced with both powerful, large dog breeds and smaller feline companions, I know exactly how to maintain a safe, balanced, and harmonious environment for all types of pets!

“Riley is a very reliable, dependable, and courteous care-provider. Our three dogs were very happy when we returned. They were even a little sad because Riley left. He did a great job carrying for them. Thanks so much, Riley.”

“Wow! This was our first time working with Deborah and she was fantastic. We have three big dogs, an aging cat, and a snake and I’ve never seen them so relaxed and content after coming home from a long trip. The house and plant also look great. Five stars! We will definitely rebook with Deborah. 🐾🐾🐾”

“Laura is amazing! She loves my pets as much as I do and leaves my home better than I left it! She is thoughtful and sends daily pictures. She also communicates when she has a question or concern and is always keeping me in the loop. I highly recommend Laura!”

“Johnna house-sat for us while we were away at a memorial service in Los Angeles, and she took care of both our cat and dog, and our house. She was fabulous. She went above and beyond, as usual. It is lovely to have someone so trustworthy take care of our home while we are away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Cayla did so great with my senior dog and also 9 week old puppy. She even helped with potty training! She left my house spotless after leaving and continued to give me updates and send photos while she was dog sitting. I will definitely hire her again and I recommend that you all do too!”

“I so appreciated Ronnie hanging out with Alfie! She was very responsive and kept me updated on how he was doing. Alfie was calm and content when I returned home so I know he had a nice time :)”

“Mariah was so wonderful with our dog Freya. She sent pictures daily and let me know that she was doing good. Our Aussie has anxiety sometimes and Mariah was wonderful with her. We left her for 7 days and haven’t been gone that long before so it was great to know she was being cared for by someone as sweet and responsible as Mariah.”

About: About Me Looking for a stress-free alternative to crowded kennels or chaotic multi-dog homes? Welcome to a premium, boutique pet-sitting experience. I cater exclusively to families who want undivided, 1-on-1 attention for their furry family member. When your dog stays with me, they are the only guest pet in my home. Because I do not offer high-volume daycare services, your dog receives my full, uninterrupted presence, love, and supervision. ________________________________________ ✨ Why Premium Owners Choose My Care • Total Exclusivity: No other guest dogs, no pack dynamics, and zero socialization stress. • Constant Companionship: My day revolves entirely around your dog’s established routine. • Tailored For Every Personality: Ideal for dogs who prefer 1-on-1 human companionship, anxious pups, and senior dogs needing gentle care. • Proven Track Record: Trusted by a loyal community of local repeat clients with a consistent history of 5-star care. My days are structured around your dogs regular schedule. While in my care I accept no outside commitments or drop-in visitors. Dogs are in my company throughout the day and rarely out of eyesight. For long-term visitors, I may run errands for no longer than 1 hour. My home is a quiet, soothing, and comfortable place as their home away from home. We interact with toys, puzzles and play; they can enjoy a lick mat if their diet permits, or rest wherever they feel most comfortable: in my lap, on the couch, or the cool floor. Some dogs enjoy the patio where they can watch squirrels and hummingbirds or just soak up the sunshine. Outdoors, our 15-acre park allows your dogs the privacy to comfortably explore and exercise without the anxiety of interacting with other, unknown dogs. My 20'-45' leashes give active dogs the freedom to play Chuck-It or Frisbee.
“Alex is an amazing dog sitter for my very anxious boy. Communication was excellent and so friendly. My senior dog requires a lot of medications and I didn’t worry about him at all in her care. I am so grateful.”
“Hannah was an absolute pleasure to work with. Weims are a very energetic breed and she fit right in. She came on time (even early) and was very courteous with my pup. My pup is very selective and loved her. I can’t thank her for all of the updates and kindness. Would 10/10 recommend !”

We booked Alysia to house sit our two dogs and cat with only a few days notice. She kept us updated and sent pictures while we were away and was incredible with our pets and our home. We will absolutely be booking her again in the future and highly recommend her to others.

Amanda has always provided excellent pet and house sitting for us! We are able to leave for a few days knowing that our ragdolls will be cared for and loved! House is always the same as we left it and truly appreciate that Amanda respects our home as if it was hers.

Brooklyn was amazing. We have never used Rover before due to someone we don’t know watching out pups, but she made the process so easy. She adjusted her schedule to be able to watch our two dogs and was so quick to respond with any questions or provide photos of our boys! She left the house in great condition and even did the laundry that was used during her stay which was so unexpected! I will definitely have Brooklyn back in the future when we need help with our dogs!

We had an amazing experience with Olesia! She was kind, patient, and incredibly understanding with our young puppy, Bubbles. From the very first meet-and-greet, she made us feel comfortable and confident that he would be in great hands. Bubbles is still a baby and can be quite energetic and mouthy, but she handled him with so much patience and care. It was clear that she genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs and understands puppy behavior. She was attentive, gentle, and made the whole experience stress-free for us. We would absolutely trust her with Bubbles again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional pet sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of our little guy! 🐶❤️

Micheal came for an interview and we were impressed wirh his experience, knowledge of pet and house sitting. This was our 1st time we left a stranger in our house to take care of our pet. Mira was absolutely amazing for our dogs this weekend. Her level of professionalism and standard she holds herself to is very high. She had a great line of communication with us and continued to keep us in the loop daily about how our animals were doing. We will 100% be looking forward to having her dog sit for us again in the future.

Natalie is a gem. We came home to happy cats! She did a wonderful job of taking care of our 2 cats, kept us informed daily and sent pictures. She even took care of the neighborhood outside cat that comes by when hungry. I would not hesitate to book Natalie again.

Mariah was great. My cat went up to her right away during the meet and greet. It was great to have someone who also has cats and knows how to interact with them. She sent pictures during her stay. I also feed feral cats and she was willing to help put food out for them as well. House was clean when we got back and she washed all of my many containers of food which was a nice surprise. I appreciate her attention to details. I would definitely recommend.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Orangevale on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 2,756 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Orangevale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orangevale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orangevale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orangevale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
