About: Hi, I’m a lifelong animal lover originally from Sweden. I adopted my first rescue dog in 1989 and have been fostering, rescuing, and caring for dogs and cats ever since. After moving to Citrus Heights 8 years ago, I decided to turn my passion into a profession. My home is filled with love, patience, and a deep understanding of animals—because to me, they’re family. As my mama always said, “If someone isn’t kind to animals, they’re not a kind person.” I am retired and I am pretty much a homebody because I have my own rescue dogs. I have a fully fenced backyard with a pool and a grass area for them to play. If they want walks we have a really nice area in the neighborhood for dog walks. The dogs will have full roam of the house and supervised outdoor playtime. They will of course get lots of love and cuddles and will be allowed on the furniture.

About: I have always been an animal lover. Had my boy Oliver for almost 18 years from puppy to super senior. I am an ER nurse so highly competent taking care of medical needs. Love to hike or go on walks equally love snuggling if the dog prefers less active time. We recently had Georgi stay with Julia, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Georgi had such a great time participating in all of the interactive activities and enrichment setups Julia provides for the dogs — you can truly tell how much thought and care goes into creating a fun environment for them. One thing I especially appreciated was the constant communication and the abundance of photos throughout the day. Seeing Georgi happy, engaged, and comfortable gave me so much reassurance knowing she was in such great hands. I absolutely recommend Derek and Leslie!! They are genuinely caring for the pets they watch! My 12 week old puppy, Maggie, felt right at home in their house. She was closely attended to, was safe and had lots of fun playing in their wonderful backyard. Several times through Maggie’s stay, they texted photos of Maggie running, playing, napping.
