About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all ages and sizes my whole life. I truly love anyone’s animal like my own because I know what it’s like to worry about your pet when they are away. When they’re hanging out with me, you can expect lots of pictures, games of fetch in the backyard, and as many snuggles as possible. I prioritize the owners peace of mind. I have experience administering daily medications, with some pets being on multiple medications at different times of day. Rest assured, your pet will a place to call their second home when staying with me. I am home full time, your pet will experience my full attention all day. I prioritize a daily routine in my own life, and work hard to make sure your pet stays in theirs as well. My yard is fully fenced in and even my escape artist husky is safe and secure in the backyard. They will always be under my direct supervision when in the backyard. There are lots of toys to play with in the backyard, even an outdoor bed if they prefer to relax.

Derek and Leslie clearly love dogs and were patient with Ruby, who was a bit overwhelmed and grouchy when the other dogs approached her. Derek stayed in the backyard with Ruby and played on the pool with her, which is her favorite. Would definitely recommend for your more social dogs.

Thanks Julia for taking care of Emily. We loved getting the update on her progress and especially loved all the photos showing her playing with new doggy friends, exploring your beautiful garden, frolicking in the splash pad and posing with the bunny ears.

Today was the hardest day of my life. I dropped off Chef because my mother was sent home on hospice. While Chef was there, my mother passed. Travis was so supportive, sent lots of pictures, and loved him for the day! Chef had a great time!

Ariana is very friendly and takes great care of my dog. I can tell that she is a "dog" person and that she knows what she is doing and really cares. It is a bonus that she does not over-charge for her services and offers the convenient pick up and drop off services. She takes several pictures and keeps me updated, which I appreciate.

She sent pictures and updates, and even let our fur baby sleep on her bed. So happy and thankful for our experience.

About: Animals have been part of my life since I was an early adult, and caring and connecting with them comes naturally. As a wellness coach, husband and father of two, I’m big on structure, patience, and creating a calm, safe inviting environment for every dog I work with. I’m active outdoors, hiking, walking trails, and exploring around in the neighborhood, so your dog will get plenty of movement and attention. I will always adapt movement and attention needs to your liking. I’ve handled everything from high-energy pups to gentle senior dogs, and I’m confident with feeding routines, medication reminders, crate-training basics, and helping anxious dogs feel secure. I treat every pet like my own and keep owners updated with photos, check-ins, and clear communication so you always know your dog is in good hands. Whether your dog needs long walks, overnight care, or a dependable companion while you’re away, I bring consistency, kindness, and professional-level responsibility to every stay. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home and set my own schedule. I’m already outdoors often, walking, working on the yard, biking, or taking my own dog out around the neighborhood or on the trails, so adding your pup into my day is a seamless fit. I’m available for boarding service either at my home or yours for 2-4 days during the week and weekend boarding requests as well. Your dog will always get consistent attention, movement, and care, never rushed or squeezed into a busy schedule. I provide a calm, structured environment that helps dogs feel comfortable the moment they arrive. My home in Fair Oaks has a large, fenced yard with plenty of safe space to explore. Outdoor time is always supervised, gates stay secured, and I keep clear routines for feeding, play, and rest so dogs settle in smoothly. We have two friendly dogs of our own, a Papillon and a Min Pin/Jack Russell mix, who enjoy having new companions around. They’re social, well-behaved, and help create an easygoing atmosphere for visiting pups. If a dog prefers their own space, I can separate areas to make sure everyone feels relaxed. For boarding in my home, I do require that dogs are potty trained. If you’re still working on potty training, I’m more than happy to support that process in your home. I’m also comfortable with crate routines, senior care, medication reminders, and maintaining whatever structure your dog is used to. As a father and longtime pet owner, safety and communication are top priorities, I send photo updates and check-ins so you always feel connected while you’re away.

I had a meet-and-greet with Lucy to see if she and my dog would be a good fit. Lucy asked thoughtful questions about his temperament, any special requirements he might have, and his daily routine. I really appreciated her attention to detail and preparation. When I dropped him off at her home, I realized I had booked her for the wrong weekend! Thankfully, Lucy was incredibly accommodating and still able to care for him, even on such short notice. Her flexibility and willingness to help allowed me to catch my flight and enjoy my trip without any stress. I’ll definitely be booking with Lucy for all my future dog-sitting needs.

About: Updated: 2/16/2026 - I home sit (for overnights) at my home in Citrus Heights on almost an acre for clients who need dog sitting up to 2 dogs or 1 dog and 1 in house cat (spayed or neutered). I only sit one client at a time with one or two pets so I can give them full attention as I am retired.. Cats will be in outdoor cat condo under carport at this time. I don’t book out farther than 90 days. Additionally, I do drop-in's from 9 am to 5 pm daily. NOTE: I home care dogs in Citrus Heights (near Antelope & Sunrise). I've owned a couple of pure breed German Shepherds and a few rescue German Shepherds, a Golden Retriever, and a medium mix dog. I've taken some doggie training classes. There are two other adults who live with me (dog lovers). Non-smoking house. Dogs are provided Britta filtered water. Let me know your dog's preferences for playtime... Frisbee, ball toss, tug toys, etc. for overnights (please provide the food). Look forward to meeting your sweet dogs. I do walk about around my large backyard on leash if you prefer your dog to keep up with walking training. It's a bit like a track in the backyard. Cats will be outdoor under a structured carport in a cat condo (with litter box access). I'll update you wtih daily photos. I can’t accept Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinchers, or Rottweilers for insurance reasons. I'm retired and looking forward to have dog guests. If you vacation during the summer months this will work well for you. In the house is great too. All my dogs have been indoor dogs. I have a fenced yard that can be divided and fenced for smaller dogs too. It's a big property and dogs can be contained in smaller areas if you prefer. See pictures.

I will be taking Honey back just because they are so genuine. They provided me feedback the whole time and photos. Gave me a complete update when I picked her up. Honey will become a regular just so he has wonderful people in her circle. Plus gives me the opportunity to have so me time without any worries.

Jesenia and her family were a great match for my two ridgebacks. Her dogs were friendly and the kids were very gentle and respectful of the pups space. I received several pictures and an excellent summary of their activity and behaviors through the day. It felt like I knew exactly what to expect, no surprises, and my dogs seemed relaxed and happy with their stay. They actually got excited in the backseat when we pulled up to their house and we’d only swung by for an initial meeting the week prior. The backyard is large and fully fenced, real grass, lots of trees and bushes for the dogs to smell for squirrels and explore. They both slept the whole way home, which never happens. Needless to say, I’m glad my pups have a place they look forward to going to, and I’ll definitely be booking again!

Pup came back happy and tired - perfect! Love that Tammy’s pups made Skye feel right at home. Tammy seemed to treat Skye like one of her own. Definitely appreciated that Tammy invited to come inside to see her home and meet her pups. I didn’t see any pictures during the day, but it sounds like everyone was too busy playing to take pics - and that’s great, too! Love that my puppy gets some socialization with other pups, and came home happy. Would def have Skye stay there again.

We recently had Georgi stay with Julia, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Georgi had such a great time participating in all of the interactive activities and enrichment setups Julia provides for the dogs — you can truly tell how much thought and care goes into creating a fun environment for them. One thing I especially appreciated was the constant communication and the abundance of photos throughout the day. Seeing Georgi happy, engaged, and comfortable gave me so much reassurance knowing she was in such great hands. It’s obvious Julia genuinely cares about the dogs she watches and treats them like her own. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and fun pet sitter!

I absolutely recommend Derek and Leslie!! They are genuinely caring for the pets they watch! My 12 week old puppy, Maggie, felt right at home in their house. She was closely attended to, was safe and had lots of fun playing in their wonderful backyard. Several times through Maggie’s stay, they texted photos of Maggie running, playing, napping. Derek and Leslie are outstanding dog-sitters!

As of September 2026, there are 1,362 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Orangevale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Orangevale commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,362 sitters in Orangevale, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
