“I would absolutely book with Lisa again if I ever need dog day care. She was very communicative, accepted my last-minute booking request, and was understanding of my dog's behavior. She also sent cute pictures of my dog, which I loved to see while I was working. My dog was definitely happy when I picked him up and exhausted when he came back home. I can tell he had a fun day with Lisa and her dogs!”

About: Hi, my name is Jena. I am a life long pet owner and animal lover. I became a rover sitter after unexpectedly losing our family dog. I wasn’t ready for another puppy, but I missed having a dog at home. The experience has been so rewarding! Our entire family - from my husband and my father-in-law to our two kiddos - enjoys it. We are available for drop in visits, doggy daycare and boarding. And because there are 3 adults around, pets who stay with us are rarely, if ever, home alone. We love taking long walks, trips to the park, and playing fetch in our backyard. I look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon! Currently a stay-at-home mom to a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy. They are both in school/preschool so my schedule is flexible during the week and on weekends! We are very used to having both dogs and cats at home and love to play fetch in our yard or cuddle on the couch.
“Dude had an amazing visit with Dongjun and Minkoung and their daughter. I would highly recommend this family to anyone looking for a sitter! Dude will forsure be back for another visit”

“Erin & Erin take care of our beloved dog Chip once a week when we both go into the office. It was so important for us to find someone who would take great care of him and love him as much as we do and we feel so lucky to have found those things with Erin & Erin. Chip gets so excited when we arrive at their house - he doesn’t even turn back to give me a goodbye! He has a great time playing with their pup Otis and comes home happy and tired. We highly recommend this family if you need care for your pup and want peace of mind that are in great hands.”
“Laura helped us out in a pinch when someone else didn’t work out. She’s very communicative, flexible, and sent us updates. She takes care of lots of pets which is nice to have friends and playtime for our pup. Would definitely go back.”

“Leslie is absolutely amazing! Ginger is 14 years old and has a lot of health issues. Leslie is incredibly understanding, patient, and compassionate. Thank you, Leslie for taking such great care of my sweet, little Ginger.”

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life. I am comfortable with dogs and enjoy being outdoors with them. I have a background in medical care working with special needs. I have a part-time job and this is a filler to make ends meet. My schedule is always changing however, I know my schedule 3 weeks in advance. I will be following protocol and routine provided by the clients care. I will ensure your pet’s safety is my number one priority throughout the visit.

“Manni was awesome and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with him. My dog went for the day and he was taken on two walks, played with and I received multiple pictures throughout the day easing my mind that he was in good hands. I will definitely use him in the future.”

About: We always had dogs in my family. Growing up our Dog was a family member in fact definitely mom‘s favourite child! My wife and I have been married almost 40 years and dogs have been our children. We both love dogs and having recently lost our own girl of 14 years so we have a lot of love to give I understand what it takes to intrust your beloved pet to someone, I would treat any pet in my care like it was my own child!! With lots and lots of love there’s a huge park we could walk to right down the street from our house which is private in our village we love taking our puppies down there to socialise and or just walk. There’s also 2 miles worth of walking trails in our community. Well first off we give them lots and lots of love!! We’ve always had dogs that are allowed on the furniture and sleep on our bed however we will follow the directions of its owner. We like to take them for walks and play with them and keep them mentally active as well as physically. We would always walk them on a leash and take great care when they are around any other kind of animals or people. Basically, we would treat them with the greatest care like we would our own child! And of course give them lots and lots of love.
“I recently boarded my dog at Qing’s home, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! Qing took such great care of my dog — every time I picked him up, he was happily exhausted from playing all day. Their own dog is super friendly, and the two got along so well. My dog had an amazing time staying at Qing’s place for those two days. Highly recommend!”

“Wonderful experience! Thanks so much for taking such great care of Tamiko. I really appreciated the two walks and the photos you sent to keep me updated. It was clear Tamiko received lots of tender loving care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up with a ton of dogs on a ranch so I have always loved animals. I have housesat, walked, watched, etc. All types of dogs from tiny poodles to giant great Pyrenees. I also have experience with cats, birds, and other pets! Animals and pets are so sweet and special and I love making them happy :) I'm currently looking for jobs in my field so I'm happy for pets to fill up my schedule until then. With enough notice I can be available for weeks, weekends, or whenever needed I personally have a fenced in yard that my dog loves to play fetch in. I always try to make the pet happy by spending lots of time with them and helping them feel included whenever possible
“Brianna was great! Super communicative and accommodating of my fluctuating schedule. I felt totally confident that Tilly was well cared for and had a much more exciting day playing at Brianna's house than she would have had home alone at mine! Will definitely rebook.”

About: We love dogs and have had several goldens throughout our lives.I have watched several friends dogs and always get told I am the best dog owner they have ever met. I always walk them and make them feel part of the family. We have a one year golden who loves to have other friends to play with. I do not work and walk my own dog twice a day in our great community. Your dog will be treated like he is my own. We have a fenced backyard and let the dogs stay inside for a lot of the day because I am home to let them in and out.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Granite Bay commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
