“Stephanie took great care of Red, my energetic coonhound. Her setup was perfect for letting Red and a mix of other really nice dogs romp around and have a great time. Stephanie was so warm and kind, I knew Red was in great hands! He was exhausted when we picked him up!”

“Erin & Erin take care of our beloved dog Chip once a week when we both go into the office. It was so important for us to find someone who would take great care of him and love him as much as we do and we feel so lucky to have found those things with Erin & Erin. Chip gets so excited when we arrive at their house - he doesn’t even turn back to give me a goodbye! He has a great time playing with their pup Otis and comes home happy and tired. We highly recommend this family if you need care for your pup and want peace of mind that are in great hands.”
“Dude had an amazing visit with Dongjun and Minkoung and their daughter. I would highly recommend this family to anyone looking for a sitter! Dude will forsure be back for another visit”

“I am pleased with Laura and the way she treated our dog. We were. It sure who’s our dog would with larger dogs, but after a few minutes all was good. It was a good experience for us and our dog. We recommend Laura.”

“I would absolutely book with Lisa again if I ever need dog day care. She was very communicative, accepted my last-minute booking request, and was understanding of my dog's behavior. She also sent cute pictures of my dog, which I loved to see while I was working. My dog was definitely happy when I picked him up and exhausted when he came back home. I can tell he had a fun day with Lisa and her dogs!”

“John was wonderful watching Jessie. Took her on several walks throughout the day, which was very much appreciated. Sent us pictures and updates throughout the visit. We will definitely be booking with him again.”

About: Hi, my name is Jena. I am a life long pet owner and animal lover. I became a rover sitter after unexpectedly losing our family dog. I wasn’t ready for another puppy, but I missed having a dog at home. The experience has been so rewarding! Our entire family - from my husband and my father-in-law to our two kiddos - enjoys it. We are available for drop in visits, doggy daycare and boarding. And because there are 3 adults around, pets who stay with us are rarely, if ever, home alone. We love taking long walks, trips to the park, and playing fetch in our backyard. I look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon! Currently a stay-at-home mom to a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy. They are both in school/preschool so my schedule is flexible during the week and on weekends! We are very used to having both dogs and cats at home and love to play fetch in our yard or cuddle on the couch.
“Amanda was very gracious towards our very naughty puppy. Apparently, some of the nervous behaviors that we don’t see at home came out with an unholy flourish at Amanda‘s home. But I appreciate the fact that Amanda gave us a full and honest report (which is helpful for us to gauge the areas he still needs significant training) and was very kind about the negatives. The most important thing, though, was that he settled down in the car almost immediately. Our dog is a very nervous dog, so if he has had a rough time at a dog sitter, we know right away because he whines and whimpers all the way home. After leaving Amanda‘s house, he winded for about 60 seconds and then went to sleep. Hallelujah! Thank you, Amanda, for the top quality care you have given to our very low quality puppy. I am especially grateful that Amanda was willing to take the puppy at the last minute, because my husband had a hospital procedure and I had completely forgotten about making arrangements for the dog. What a godsend Amanda has been.”

I also raised sheep and bunnies. I have a very flexible schedule. I am here to assist you in boarding, walks, overnight stays, and weekend stays. Short pop in visits too! I have a fenced yard to play in and room to play in the house! Fun places to walk to for outings! While at your home, we will play and have a great time
“Audria was available for our very last minute booking. She was attentive and accommodated Bruna's anxious behavior when first meeting her. Her home is spacious and there was a yard. Her communication was great and this allowed for us to relax at our event. Thanks for the dog-sit, Audria!”

“Leslie is absolutely amazing! Ginger is 14 years old and has a lot of health issues. Leslie is incredibly understanding, patient, and compassionate. Thank you, Leslie for taking such great care of my sweet, little Ginger.”

“Kelsey did an absolutely wonderful job taking care of JOMO today! She was attentive, kind, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled with care. Her warm personality put us at ease right away, and it was clear how much she genuinely cared. JOMO was happy and well looked after, which means the world to us. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Kelsey!”

“Sandra is wonderful! Poppy always has so much fun with her and gets the best care. She never wants to leave when I pick her up! She even runs straight to Sandra’s door at drop-off. Highly recommend!”

“Isabel had a wonderful first stay with Cynthia and Patrick! She truly enjoyed her time. They’ve sent multiple updates about Isabel with pictures and videos - making sure that she’s enjoying her time with them. Thank you for taking such great care of our furbaby! Highly recommended—book them now! ☺️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
