“Oh my goodness, out of the many different sitters we have worked with on Rover, Pam is by far the best we have ever encountered. That is to say that the care that she and her husband provided our nervous little puppy was 100% perfectly suited to his needs. No competing dogs, no high energy little kids to amp our puppy’s nervous energy into high gear. Perfectly calm home environment that is perfectly suited for anyone who has a high energy dog or puppy that needs calm spaces to remind them how to act calmly. So very grateful for the care Rocky received in this “daycare””

“Their home and property is fantastic. My dog smiled every minute she was there. I would give Linda and her husband 10 🌟 if I could! My Ruby was treated with genuine loving ❤️ care...”

“Amanda was very gracious towards our very naughty puppy. Apparently, some of the nervous behaviors that we don’t see at home came out with an unholy flourish at Amanda‘s home. But I appreciate the fact that Amanda gave us a full and honest report (which is helpful for us to gauge the areas he still needs significant training) and was very kind about the negatives. The most important thing, though, was that he settled down in the car almost immediately. Our dog is a very nervous dog, so if he has had a rough time at a dog sitter, we know right away because he whines and whimpers all the way home. After leaving Amanda‘s house, he winded for about 60 seconds and then went to sleep. Hallelujah! Thank you, Amanda, for the top quality care you have given to our very low quality puppy. I am especially grateful that Amanda was willing to take the puppy at the last minute, because my husband had a hospital procedure and I had completely forgotten about making arrangements for the dog. What a godsend Amanda has been.”

About: Santiago and Josie Nuñez With over 15 years of experience in caring for dogs, we treat every dog like family. As proud owners of three dogs—two Boxers and a Papillon mix—we understand firsthand the love and attention they deserve. We work Monday through Wednesday and are available for drop offs Wednesday evening. Our Schedule is flexible if needed to drop off on off days We have 8 acres of land with a secure, fenced area for the dogs to roam, as well as kennels for times when close supervision isn’t possible.
About: I have been a pet owner for all of my adult life. I have had cats, small dogs, and big dogs. I have successfully trained all of our pets to be obedient loving extensions of our family. My pets are much more than just pets! They each bring their own unique personality to my home that adds character and life. I treat them with love and care as they give so much of that to me daily. I am retired. I am often home outside of weekly errands, appointments, and time spent with grandchildren. I would love to welcome your furry friend into my daily adventures. I have a fenced yard that is manicured and perfect for dog exploration and exercise. I also have Finley, my goldendoodle, who loves to have pals to play with! I have crates that can be utilized as well if there is a need.
“Shout to Stephen for providing responsive and professional care to my 4yo labradoodle Gracie. Stephen is patient and kind to Gracie and all her personalities, so we rely on him for weekly daycare which involves early drop offs, updates throughout care, and late pickups. Stephen responds quickly and is happy to help so hit him up for inquiries.”

“Koko loves to visit Diane & Augie, and we love sending her because we know how happy and well cared for when she is there. We also appreciate how well Diane communicates before, during and after the booking.”

“Catie-Lynn and her loving family took excellent care of my older, blind pug mix, Winnie. When I arrived to pick up Winnie, the entire family was there to greet me. It was clear to me that Winnie received lots of love throughout the day. I appreciated their willingness to help me with my special needs dog. Five stars!”

About: I grew up on a large family farm with all kinds of animals. We recently had two senior Shih Tzu's that each had their own special needs. After the loss, we are ready to open our home to new pups! We love all dogs and animals of all kinds. Our property is a large 3 acres. Our large backyard is fenced. We enjoy hiking and long walks. My husband works from home so there's someone always here for potty breaks, snuggles and treats. We do have one friendly, easygoing cat. Your dog must be comfortable around cats. We are happy to give medications or whatever special needs that you might require. My husband works from home and we are generally homebody people. I work about 32 hours a work. I am usually at work at 10 am and home by 5:30 pm. Our cat is self-sufficient and has his own bathroom space with his automatic food feeder and litter box. This limits dogs from being cat box curious.
“Maria did a fantastic job taking care of Piglet. She is a sweet gal and obviously an animal lover, which is who you want to leave your babies with. I think piggy would tell me she had a wonderful time if she could talk. Maria is really good at communicating too, which is a bonus! Thank you, Maria for taking such good care of my baby!!”

About: Our motto is to be the People Our Dogs Think We Are. Which includes trust, kindness, respect and fun. We have a big fenced yard for plenty of space to run around. Our house has a doggy door for easy in and out access to the backyard. Our dogs, Lilu and Bento are medium size, litter mates, that have been crate trained. They have been trained not to steal food out of hands and not to beg for food. We don't often reward good behavior with treats unless requested. We also trained them to listen to commands and for the most part they respond well. They have been trained on and off leash. They rarely bark unless they are excited to play. They love meeting other well mannered dogs and are very dog friendly too! Most importantly, our entire family loves dogs and we love to be active with them. My husband and I both work from home. We often take dogs for walk early in the morning before the day starts. We often take them for walks later it the day, especially as the day cools down. We live near hiking trails and will often visit those areas for more active hiking. We feed our dogs 2 times per day, morning and early eve. We have taught them to only eat from their dishes at the same time. If there is another dog that is not on same schedule, we will separate the dogs so they can eat by themselves uninterrupted. They will often be given treats throughout the day depending on what we are doing. We have a fenced yard to keep the dogs safe. We also have a doggy door or easy in and out access to the yard. Both my dogs have been crate trained and I can host other dogs that need to be crated.
“JOMO loves Kelsey. And I love how caring Kelsey is of JOMO. But, outside of JOMO, Kesley is just a lovely person. Her willingness to deal with the ups and downs of my schedule (which I am sure throws her schedule out of orbit) is much appreciated. Like, beyond appreciation.”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
