Amanda was great. She sent me pictures throughout his day. He obviously had a great day because he fell asleep before we got to the end of her street and he ate dinner and snored and slept all night. I'll definitely use her for my sitting needs.

About: I have worked at a doggy day care that serviced over a 100 dogs and 30 cats at a time. As a kennel tech, I took care of the animals. I played with them, gave them enrichment, training, ect. I have 1 year experience selling pet food. I learned a lot about dog and cat diets and food sources. Currently i'm available 24/7. This is what I do full time. So the animal will have 24/7 attention. Special circumstances will apply, weekend adventures or what not. Anytime is negotiable. Every animal will be treated as my own. Dogs will sleep in the house. We have 1 acre to run around on in the day. I'll be here all day.

Pam is the best!! So glad we found her. She is very experienced and has a calm and confident nature with dogs. Pam gives your dog undivided attention as she only takes one dog at a time. Perfect for our anxious little guy! Otis is a couch and bed surfer during the day so I love that she allows dogs on the furniture. Pam could easily become Otis's "surrogate" puppy parent! Kudos to her husband Dave as well, who "chills" with all the dogs on the couch!! I could see a bond forming!! Thank you Pam!! We will definitely be calling again.

Five stars, no hesitation. Luz came out to the curb to meet us at drop-off, which was such a thoughtful touch. There’s always that awkward moment as a first-time visitor where you’re not sure whether to knock or ring the doorbell, and she just took that off the table entirely. She followed all my care instructions carefully and, most impressively, rolled with a last-minute curveball: our younger dog ended up needing his neuter surgery earlier than expected, so she had to take on a whole set of post-op instructions with very little notice. She handled it without missing a beat. Her own dog was an absolute gem, calm, gentle, not a barker. That matters more than it might sound. I always worry about my dogs picking up bad habits from an anxious or reactive dog, and that was just never a concern here. Both of my dogs are Chihuahua mix puppies, which is exactly as much energy as it sounds like. She had nothing but kind things to say about them at pick-up, which honestly I appreciated, because I can barely say that about them on a high-energy day. Most telling: they were asleep within 60 seconds of getting in the car. That’s always my gold standard for a good stay. She was also wonderfully communicative throughout, sending pictures and videos regularly. I don’t always need that from a sitter, but with someone new, it means everything to know they’re being attentive. Luz absolutely was. I’ve used a number of sitters in the Roseville and Rocklin area over the years and honestly never walked away from a drop-off feeling truly at ease. This was the first time. I felt confident the whole time that my dogs were in the best possible hands. Highly recommend, especially if you have puppies or dogs with special needs.

About: I have experience with puppies, beginner obedience training and potty training. Senior dog care, special needs, surgery or vet procedure recovery and care. Active dogs that need lots of engagement and exercise or dogs that just want to hang out and cuddle. I work primarily from home, have a safe and fenced yard. Our home is open with lots to explore or we can provide a safe, quiet space if your pet needs that. I have a safe, fenced yard they can run around in or if they would rather hang out with me, sit in my lap, lay in my bed. I walk multiple times a day and have nature and walking trails around my home. I have a quiet room if your pet needs quiet space or they can run around the house and explore and play with my kids (10 and 12) and hang out with my family.

About: I have cared for and loved animals since I was a little girl. I was raised in a house with dogs of all types and have continued to have them in my life. I have two rescues, a 6-lb sweet female chihuahua and a 30-lb shy male terrier mix, that love to be around other dogs but who also are submissive to and respect other dogs’ needs for their own space. Having been a zookeeper and vet tech, I have worked on training various critters, as well as cared for elderly animals that need special attention or medications. I work from home with my husband full time and we are always ready for fur baby snuggles on our couch and bed. We also live near a canal and trails, so dog walks are very frequent in our home. Because we live farther away, we are also willing to come do pickups to keep you from having to drive to us, but we understand completely wanting to see where your pups are staying. I work from home nearly full time except Tuesdays, but my husband is home full time everyday. I am an early riser and can do early walks/pickup/potty breaks. As we are working on house projects due to this being a new and first home purchase, we are gone a ton on the weekends too. If I am staying at your home, I can arrange to be there constantly because my husband is home to care for my pups. I don’t have a fenced yard, but live very close to a dog park that is fenced. I also have a canal trail right off my driveway and we walk our two dogs on it all the time. My two babies are extremely sweet and friendly with other dogs. I am an extremely tidy and organized person, so whether your pup stays with me or I come to your home, I can guarantee I will always leave things as good or better than I found them. Also, if you have any last-minute travel issues, I can almost always adapt to host longer to make sure you don’t have to stress about what will happen to your pup.

Lisa is awesome. Always easy to communicate with, and has helped me on very short notice. My Pyrenees can be pretty attached and selective with people and she likes spending time with Lisa. Lisa has been so nice and patient with Lucy and dealing with her quirks (barking!). It feels great to have someone that Lucy is comfortable with.

So grateful that Amanda is willing to deal with our high maintenance puppy. His training is slow going he’s a high anxiety high energy breed and he’s a puppy and neither me nor my husband really knows how to train dogs very well. So, he’s very rough around the edges but Amanda has been very patient with all of his requirements such as tethering timeouts and squirt bottle treatments for his humping habits. So grateful she is willing to take this little work in progress despite all his warts.

Doggy Day Care

Amanda was very gracious towards our very naughty puppy. Apparently, some of the nervous behaviors that we don’t see at home came out with an unholy flourish at Amanda‘s home. But I appreciate the fact that Amanda gave us a full and honest report (which is helpful for us to gauge the areas he still needs significant training) and was very kind about the negatives. The most important thing, though, was that he settled down in the car almost immediately. Our dog is a very nervous dog, so if he has had a rough time at a dog sitter, we know right away because he whines and whimpers all the way home. After leaving Amanda‘s house, he winded for about 60 seconds and then went to sleep. Hallelujah! Thank you, Amanda, for the top quality care you have given to our very low quality puppy. I am especially grateful that Amanda was willing to take the puppy at the last minute, because my husband had a hospital procedure and I had completely forgotten about making arrangements for the dog. What a godsend Amanda has been.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,080 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Ophir. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ophir commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,080 sitters in Ophir, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
