Amanda was very gracious towards our very naughty puppy. Apparently, some of the nervous behaviors that we don’t see at home came out with an unholy flourish at Amanda‘s home. But I appreciate the fact that Amanda gave us a full and honest report (which is helpful for us to gauge the areas he still needs significant training) and was very kind about the negatives. The most important thing, though, was that he settled down in the car almost immediately. Our dog is a very nervous dog, so if he has had a rough time at a dog sitter, we know right away because he whines and whimpers all the way home. After leaving Amanda‘s house, he winded for about 60 seconds and then went to sleep. Hallelujah! Thank you, Amanda, for the top quality care you have given to our very low quality puppy. I am especially grateful that Amanda was willing to take the puppy at the last minute, because my husband had a hospital procedure and I had completely forgotten about making arrangements for the dog. What a godsend Amanda has been.

Bella has stayed with Amy &Justin now twice. And I am absolutely thrilled. She’s very relaxed when I pick her up so I know she had a good experience. Amy &Justin are a great team and communicate well. Bella loves kids so I’m sure she gets lots of love from their children. I feel such a relief finding Amy &Justin. They live close to me and they treat my dog like family. What more can you ask?

Michelle was great with my dog Oakley! I was so thankful she was able to take him on short notice and accommodate whatever we needed... Her house is on a large property that's fully enclosed and in a beautiful gated community in the hills. Whether you have a big dog that loves to run around and interact with other friendly animals or a small dog that prefers to spend time inside close to people, Michelle's house is an awesome place for pets! My dog has major separation anxiety, but instead of stressing out like he normally does when he knows I'm leaving him, Oakley immediately settled in and started exploring the property with one of her dogs right after we got there! I could tell from Michelle's updates and photos that Oakley was really enjoying his time there and felt comfortable he would be well taken care of if he needed to stay even longer in the future. The location of her house turned out to be really convenient and close to where I was going, but even if I'm further away the next time I'm in town and need a sitter, I know that Michelle will be our first choice for sure!

We were visiting Folsom for a birthday party and left our Pomeranian with Shannon for about 4 hours so we wouldn't have to worry about Belle getting fed by the kids and all. It was so nice to be able to relax while Belle hung out with Shannon and some other dogs! All went well and we got a few videos of Belle! Shannon was very good at communicating with us.

Breanna was so kind and loving. My two took to both she and her partner instantly. Pictures told me they were having a great time, relaxing in their home. Walter is my quiet gentleman with an anxious soul and he freely gave affection and love, trusting instantly... and my Dolly the verbal pup yipped with glee over her new friends. We had a regular provider on Rover that we loved dearly but she is starting a family now so to find a new trusted host for our pups is so reassuring. They asked lots of questions to make sure all would be well during the stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tammy: The Dog Whisperer If Mary Poppins had a dog-sitting cousin who exclusively cared for tiny, emotionally complex white cockapoos, her name would be Tammy. My dog Sugar – a floofy cockapoo with a stump tail and the courage of a particularly anxious marshmallow – is usually terrified of everything. Her own shadow? Enemy. A breeze? Monster. A leaf blowing by? Full-on DEFCON 1. Enter Tammy. Somehow, magically, Sugar transformed from a nervous wreck into a peaceful, lazy princess under Tammy’s care. We're talking “snoring on the couch like a 70-year-old grandpa watching golf” levels of relaxed. Tammy clearly speaks fluent Dog (and probably a dialect specific to sugar-powered floof nuggets). She sent regular updates, including pics of Sugar looking like she pays rent and owns the place. I swear Sugar even looked smug. I don’t know what kind of sorcery or secret stash of dog whispering snacks Tammy’s working with, but I’m deeply grateful. And Sugar has been sulking since she left, which I assume is her version of a five-star Rover review. If you want someone who’ll love your fur-baby like her own—and maybe unlock their inner couch potato zen master—Tammy’s your gal.

First and best experience with doggy day care! Sara is amazing - so amazing Sugar acted as if I was a stranger. Sugar had so much fun she was tired and napping away when I picked her up. She was definitely showing me some attitude when leaving Sara’s; I’m sure Sugar wanted me to continue working for another 8+ hours. Sugar and I both highly recommend!

Henry and Sharon have been amazing dog sitters for my 7month old puppy Bodhi. They watch him for puppy daycare one day weekly. They are very communicative and reliable and make sure they understand your dog’s personality and care needs so they can make it a comfortable and positive stay. We had a meet and greet with their dog Rufus prior to setting up daycare and Bodhi and Rufus play very well together. They always send a Rover card documenting how the day went with photos and potty breaks. They even go above and beyond and give Bodhi mental enrichment with puzzles and healthy treats. Thank you Sharon and Henry for taking such good care of my little boy!

I would absolutely book with Lisa again if I ever need dog day care. She was very communicative, accepted my last-minute booking request, and was understanding of my dog's behavior. She also sent cute pictures of my dog, which I loved to see while I was working. My dog was definitely happy when I picked him up and exhausted when he came back home. I can tell he had a fun day with Lisa and her dogs!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pilot Hill commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 955 sitters in Pilot Hill, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
