About: We always had dogs in my family. Growing up our Dog was a family member in fact definitely mom‘s favourite child! My wife and I have been married almost 40 years and dogs have been our children. We both love dogs and having recently lost our own girl of 14 years so we have a lot of love to give I understand what it takes to intrust your beloved pet to someone, I would treat any pet in my care like it was my own child!! With lots and lots of love there’s a huge park we could walk to right down the street from our house which is private in our village we love taking our puppies down there to socialise and or just walk. There’s also 2 miles worth of walking trails in our community. Well first off we give them lots and lots of love!! We’ve always had dogs that are allowed on the furniture and sleep on our bed however we will follow the directions of its owner. We like to take them for walks and play with them and keep them mentally active as well as physically. We would always walk them on a leash and take great care when they are around any other kind of animals or people. Basically, we would treat them with the greatest care like we would our own child! And of course give them lots and lots of love.

“Deanna was amazing! My cats fell in love with her and looked forward to her visits. She was loving, sweet, and gentle with my cats. She communicated with me very well and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. She's definitely my go to kitty sitter from now on =] Thank you so much, Deanna!”

“Dale took great care of our cats - she was prompt, thoughtful of them, thorough in following instructions and took excellent photos of them during her visits! I would work with Dale again for any animal care.”

“As usual, Valeria is awesome. She radiates warmth and love toward our elderly dog. She takes such good care of him and goes above and beyond. Thanks Valeria! I'd give 7 stars but we are stuck to 5.”

“Lauren was great! She left a detailed and thorough post visit review and was patient with one nervous and one very old dog. She provided plenty of photos as well. 100% recommend!!”

About: I grew up on a ranch with all kinds of animals, so I’ve taken care of every size from quail to horses. I started watching other people’s animals when I was 13, from feeding friends 4H projects to staying at a house with someone’s dog. I’m currently working part time, just graduated from Sacramento State, and am currently looking for a nursing program. I typically have evenings free and a couple hours in the morning depending on my schedule for the week. I’m very flexible and willing to work around or with anything! My work schedule does come out weekly so I cannot guarantee that I will be available at the same time every week and my shifts vary in length, anywhere from 4-8 hours. I don’t offer care in my own home currently as I live in an apartment. But I’m more than willing to watch them in your home to help them stay in their routine!
“Jena is beyond amazing! I honestly can't say enough great things about the care she provided to our dog, Addy, while my husband and I went away for the weekend. We had never used Rover.com before, but it was so nice to get the check-ins and the pictures Jena sent showing how happy Addy was and that she was being well cared for. We even had a slight change in our plans, and Jena was very accommodating. Jena went above and beyond! I highly recommend her and would love to have her care for Addy again!! :)”

“LIsa was very easy to communicate with and took great care of our 2 dogs. Our youngest is a rescue pup and she is skittish so this was the first time we had someone take care of her and having Lisa was a huge peace of mind for us. We will definitely rebook with her again.”

“The evidence shows in Nika's care for Murphy through the photos and messages she leaves on his Rover card. Fortunate to have found someone we can trust and who takes great care of our pet!”

“I am more than thrilled with my experience with Jenna and judging by my cat’s behavior, he was also very happy to have her care for him while I was gone. This is the first time (I’ve had him almost 17 years) that I’ve left town and noticed in the photos she sent and his behavior when I came home that he was not distressed or scared. He’s old and I worry about him, but I could sense he was in good hands. She accommodated his eating schedule very well and gave me great details along with a photo of him at each visit. I highly recommend Jenna and will be using her again. Thank you Jenna!”
“We loved Libbey!! I am a helicopter mom when it comes to our cat, Macaroni, and Libbey made us feel so comfortable leaving him in her hands. She is so communicative and treated Macaroni like he was her own. She gave him so much love while we were away and always left detailed notes about her visit. 100% would book with her again!”

About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life. I used to have a lab/pit-bull mix and I would have to take her on walks all the time. I also used to have two small dogs that’s I would care for as well, they loved to play and go on walks. I now have a 3 year old yellow lab and love taking her to the dog park and on walks. I recently rescued a staffy mix who is about 8 months right now, and I love to play with him as well. I took care of my senior dog, he had to wear diapers and be carried up the stairs because he was so old. I also had to train my lab to potty in the backyard as well as sit, stay, lay down, and a few other tricks, I am also training my puppy currently. I do insurance at the moment so my schedule is pretty flexible on a day to day basis but can get busy on some days! I cannot have other dogs in my home because I do not have my own place yet. I can care for animals at their home by always providing water and food as well as playing fetch or taking them on walks.
“Kira is always great with our dog! She took care of him and made sure he was fed at the property times, had fun playing and on walks, and had more than enough time for him to go potty! This was our second time booking her for multiple days, and we plan on booking with her many more times!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
