“We are a military family so we've moved a ton and feel like we've had about a billion Rovers. McKenzie is hands down, bar-none the best one we have ever had. It was the first trip where I feel like I could really relax because she was taking such good care of them. The time and effort she took with pictures and messages made me feel like she really got to know our dogs, too. It wasn't just a job - she really cared. So thankful for her and we will absolutely be using her services again!”

“Ella took great care of Ozzie and kept me updated the whole time, which I really appreciated. He was happy and relaxed when I got back. Thank you so much for your help—I’d gladly book her again!”

About: I have volunteered at the Monterey County SPCA and completed 36 hours whilst at college. I learned how to properly care for animals and carried out various tasks such as cleaning, ensuring the animals are physically active, and answering questions from the public. I have been around numerous types of animals my time at the SPCA from dogs to bunnies. I have seen all ages of animals from ten years old to eighth month old puppies yet, I ensure every animal is given the upmost care. Pet care fits into my daily schedule because I have two senior dogs of my own. Care giving is not a new skill for me I have been caring for animals for about thirteen years. Pet care is something that I am very passionate about and that is a job I truly enjoy. Throughout my life I have always been surrounded by animals. I currently have two Chihuahuas. One being thirteen and the other around ten years old. My duties have always been to feed them, take them out as needed, and occasionally take them on walks. I love all types of animals and my ultimate goal is to ensure they are in a safe comfortable environment.
“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received this weekend! From the start, they were communicative, reliable, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. They treated my dog like family, provided updates, and made sure all of their needs were met. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pup!”

“Madeline was an amazing sitter for our two cats! She was reliable, communicative, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. One of our cats requires medication, and she handled that with care and confidence, which gave us great peace of mind. She also went above and beyond by spending time outside with our cats so they could safely enjoy their courtyard time—something they really love. It meant so much to know they were getting that extra attention while we were away. We had two very happy, well-cared-for kitties. I would absolutely book Madeline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful sitter!”

“Heather was absolutely amazing! She took excellent care of my senior cat, who has medications and needed a couple check ins per day. Heather followed all of my instructions carefully, kept me updated with notes and adorable photos. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. “Nicole is an awesome and attentive sitter who id recommend to any person who cares about their pets! She was very flexible and open to time changes, as well as a last minute booking. About: I've had a dog my whole life! I had a German Shepard when I was a kid, and now we have two more German Shepherds. We have the standard shepherd, she is 4 years old, and her name is Novie! Then we have a 1-year-old German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix, and her name is Cookie! I have just the basic training skills, such as loose/tight leash walks, sit, down/lay, stay/wait, leave it/drop it, come, paw, crate training, etc. I have absolutely no problems or issues administering medications, oral only, but I can be taught! I can provide patient care for elderly dogs and provide any extra assistance that may be needed to be accommodated. I can provide baths, tooth brushing, and nail clipping. Another thing I can do is assure your dog will have safe and secure walks, and timely, loving care for your pets, because they're family too! I'm currently on my summer break from college until mid-August, so I have completely open availability. Mornings, afternoons, and evenings work just fine for me. I will not be providing care for your pets in my home, but I am more than happy to visit the pets' home multiple times a day if needed.

Ella was wonderful, she worked around our last minute plans and took such good care of Dumpling while we were camping. We would happily use her as a sitter again and recommend her to anyone. Even though we were out of service she let us know how everything was going each day and sent pictures.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our cat sitter Caitlin and couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
