“Kristen went above and beyond with my dog, Belle! She took her potty even in the rain, played with her, very considerately kept me updated, and was very professional during a tricky moment on a walk. Would definitely recommend her services to anyone!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received this weekend! From the start, they were communicative, reliable, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. They treated my dog like family, provided updates, and made sure all of their needs were met. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pup!”

“Khylei was amazing- my cats were very well taken care of, and my less shy cat even came out of hiding to say hello. I had so much peace of mind knowing that my cats were so well taken care of.”

“Very reliable and responsible. Clearly very knowledgeable about animals and would definitely have Katie back any time. She took the time to write out her visit summary and I loved the photos. Thanks!”

“The dogs were at first meeting defensive which is natural. Within minutes they relaxed and were comfortable with Tylyn. Nice pictures were taken everyday, the yard was cleaned up and she did a little extra watering. I was very comfortable with her dropping in for a total of nine days.”

“Audriana was awesome again! She took great care of our dog, and went above and beyond by spending extra time with him and even picked up the house some during the check ins. Highly recommend!”

About: When I was a young child, my parents raised pit bulls. I’ve had several of my own dogs, most recently my beloved Sebastian crossed the rainbow bridge after having him for 8 years. I’ve volunteered in shelters, I’ve been a house sitter for a client with 2 large dogs, and I’ve taken care of farm animals. I have loved animals passionately since I was two years old. I will treat yours as if it is my own beloved pet and I look forward to helping you with your fur babies! I am an online student with a flexible schedule. Just ask me and I will work with you! I can adapt to your particular needs. Every pet’s care is unique. I honor that with every one I take care of. I want to know how I can best care for yours!
About: Always had dogs in my life! Enjoy their company and personalities. My pooch would love to have a walking buddy but if your baby is not comfortable around other dogs, I have no issue spending quality time with them! Looking to exercise with new friends! I work full time but having scheduled walks would help motivate me to get my day started early. Can’t wait to meet some new friends! My pooch has many toys that remain untouched!… she has bully sticks, dental chews and the fat I trim from chuck roast gets broiled for crispy guilty snacks. She gets strawberries, blueberries and sardines for more extra treats. Yeah, you could say spoiled…
“Sierra and Seth, both watched our giant dogs today! They did several drop-ins and made sure the dogs needs were very well met at each one. They are also very communicative, which was so important because we have a large dog with reactivity issues and behaviors. Sierra and Seth were very responsive to our dog's needs, and willing to adjust and adapt when our reactive dog needed different kinds of support. We would love for them to sit for us again and their help was irreplaceable!”
“Emma is awesome ! For a first time user on this app , she made everything easy and had great communication the entire time . Emma definitely went above and beyond in caring for my black lab Lucy in which we look forward to booking with her again soon !”

“We used this app for the first time and got so lucky to find Patti! She immediately made us feel at ease upon our first meeting and our dog loved her right away. She even was able to eventually pet our 12 year old cat who is a really big scaredy cat with new people. She was able to do exactly what we needed with our pets while we were away and we did not have to worry one bit. Loved all the pics and comments every day as well. Can’t thank her enough for taking such good care of our fur babies! ??”

I work remote from home and if I do need to leave.I have help from my mother and step dad. your dog's safety and well-being are our top priority. Our trusted, experienced caregivers provide a secure and loving environment, ensuring peace of mind while you're away."
About: Not only am I an animal lover, I have been a dog trainer for the last 18 years and a Pet First Aid & CPR instructor since earlier this year. I have worked with all kinds of animals and am familiar with a large range of behaviors. I also volunteered at different shelters for over 8 years. You can trust me with your pet. I am currently a professional dog trainer with availability for pet care throughout the week. I can be flexible for mornings, evenings and weekends, working around my training schedule. In clients homes I follow the guidelines provided by the pet owner. We discuss any clarifications before the job begins ensuring we have a mutual understanding on what is needed.
“Bernadette has exceeded my expectations duing her drop-in visits with my dog Penny. I have a long commute and needed someone to come let her out to go potty and spend time together during the day. Bernadette gives very detailed reports of Penny's mood, consumption, and potty habits, and it puts me at ease while I'm far away. Bernadette has helped in my home in big and small ways, and my pets absolutely adore her (she throws the kitty love in as a bonus!). I trust her completely in my home, and am so happy she is available while I'm at work!”

About: To me, a dog is first and foremost a friend — and in my home, a treasured guest who gets to keep their own habits. My goal isn't to make them fit my routine, but to help them feel calm, happy, and at home. With over 10 years of caring for animals, this has always been about friendship and respect for me, never just "pet-sitting." Comfort and safety first. I create a comfortable, safe space built on what matters most: love, respect for personal boundaries, and genuine care. Your dog should feel protected and accepted from the very first moment. A little joy every day. Dogs love their walks, so if yours usually goes out once or twice a day, with me we'll head out more often. Playtime happens every single day, and there are plenty of cuddles and conversations along the way — dogs really feel that. Careful with food and health. Meals and medication stay right on schedule. Many dogs will only eat when someone sits with them, so I stay by their side at mealtimes to make sure they actually eat and feel supported. I'm happy to care for dogs with special needs and those who need medication. A home where they can relax. I don't burden dogs with unnecessary rules — furniture and favorite spots are all theirs, just like home. Your dog gets to feel free here, not like a guest on someone else's terms. What you can count on from me. Detailed photo and video updates twice a day, so you can relax knowing your companion is doing well. I work from home, which means your dog has company and supervision all day long. I live in a secure, gated community with enclosed grounds — a calm, safe place to stay. Your dog won't just be "boarded" here — they'll be a guest in a friend's home. My care for your pet goes far beyond simple supervision — I give them home comfort and my full attention, just like I do for my own pets. I work from home, so I'm around throughout the day: your pet is never left alone for long, and I easily fit into their usual routine — meals, walks, playtime, and rest all stay on their normal schedule. I keep my days flexible so your pet's needs always come first. I can either visit your pet regularly in your own home, or welcome them into my home for constant, attentive supervision. If your pet stays with me, they'll be my only guest — no other animals competing for attention, so all of it goes to your companion. My home is in a secure, gated community with enclosed grounds — a calm, safe place where pets settle in easily. Whether in your home or mine, I keep things clean, quiet, and stress-free, and I always respect each pet's personal boundaries and pace.

“Lindsey and her family are awesome. I’m so happy I found her on Rover. My cat Olivia loves them! I hate leaving her but she’s always in a much better mood when I get home so I know she loves their company!”

Ella was wonderful, she worked around our last minute plans and took such good care of Dumpling while we were camping. We would happily use her as a sitter again and recommend her to anyone. Even though we were out of service she let us know how everything was going each day and sent pictures.

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received this weekend! Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pup!

Mariah took care of our very timid cats while we were away for seven days. We scheduled her to come only once a day as the cats are very frightened of new people. She followed the written instructions and I was able to communicate with her any potential problems. We would absolutely book her again if we need cat care.

STOP SCROLLING! We’ve had numerous sitters for our three (somewhat challenging/unique) dogs over the past decade+, and Annie (Nancy) is easily the best. Beyond being responsive to outreach and thorough with updates, she is unbelievably kind and well-suited for caring for others’ pets. Our dogs adore her, and she is the first sitter with whom I have felt 100% comfortable regarding one of our dog’s special history/needs. Annie is a good listener and a responsible steward—the type of sitter to charge an exceedingly reasonable amount and then show up for extra long visits with her own treats for the pups in hand. She clearly has a true love of animals, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Do your pets (and your peace of mind) a favor and book Annie!

Amanda was wonderful with our kitties as usual. Both warmed up to her without any issues (even our very wary cat). Amanda went out of her way to ensure cleanliness and safety, while sending us great photos and videos of our little ones while we were overseas, which we found very comforting. We came back home to very happy kitties and will certainly have Amanda again as our cat sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
