About: I’ve been a proud pet parent and sitter for over 20 years, and I know how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family. I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes, cats with every personality, and even senior pets who need a little extra love. I treat every pet like my own; whether that means long walks, playtime, cuddles, or keeping routines just right. I’m reliable, attentive, and always happy to send photo updates so you know your pets are safe and happy while you’re away. For me, pet sitting isn’t just a job, it’s what I love. 🐾 I have a very flexible schedule! I am pretty much always home, playing with my cat or tending my garden. I go to school online so that can be done from any location with wifi. I have plenty of free time to make sure your fury friends needs are met! I love and appreciate a detailed list of your pets wants and needs so as their routine isn’t disturbed in your absence. My calm yet assertive style coupled with my fun and energetic personality help me to ensure every pet I encounter is not only safe but trusts me enough to let their guard down and play!
“David was fantastic! He came by to check on our five Shibas over the last two days and did a wonderful job. He was incredibly patient with them, which is no small task with five independent pups! He arrived promptly for each visit and took the time to share detailed feedback afterward, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It’s such a relief to have found someone so reliable—and so close by—for days when I need to be away from home for extended periods. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again!”

“Jenelle was so wonderful taking care of our dog while we were away. She is incredibly kind and very responsible. I had great piece of mind knowing she was their for our dog!”

“Donna took care of my six cats while I was on an extended trip overseas. After meeting her for the first time I immediately felt comfortable leaving her in charge of the cats. The cats all have very different personalities but Donna was able to work with that as the cats became accustomed to a new person in the house. Donna sent pictures of the cats when they made their appearances and gave me a detailed report about what she did when she visited. A plus about Donna is that she has pet care credentials from her career of taking care of animals in various veterinarian situations. Take a look at her Rover bio. Donna was the only person I interviewed with a reasonable price for the number of cats I have and the length of time she would be taking care of them. This was the first time I entrusted my cats to a non-family member and I am very happy I found Donna's in-home catsitting services. I recommend Donna wholeheartedly and will use her services again in the future. Thank you, Donna.”
“To all my travel nurses/healthcare professions in the STL area, Sydney is your go-to-person for your pet. 👏🏼 Her care, communication, and compassion is 5 star. She’s truly someone you can trust with your pet and someone you can trust in your home.”

“Mariah did an amazing job taking care of our kitties! She was very professional and made sure to follow all our instructions to the letter AND one our cats was sick and she provided the medicine as well. We are very happy with her services and we will use her again!”

“Emily was a great sitter! Our cat loved her. She took special care to learn all about him. She took note of how he likes to play, what food he likes, and even the little things that we do for him when we are home. We are looking forward to hiring her again!”

“Johnna is an amazing pet sitter. I can’t tell you how reassuring it is to know that she is the one in our home taking care of our beloved pets. I feel very fortunate to have found her.”

“Nancy (Annie) was AMAZING! Truly made our trip enjoyable in that we didn’t have to worry about our three older pups. She understood their special needs, communicated frequent photo and video updates, and was very thoughtful with our babies and our space. I’d feel lucky if she were available to care for our dogs when we travel next.”

“There are not enough words to describe how great Alyssa and Kyle are. They went above and beyond for our dogs. They are so knowledgeable and kind. They had wonderful communication and they are easy to work with. We would give them 10 stars if we could! Truly an amazing experience and amazing individuals!”

About: I absolutely love pets! I’ve taken care of all different kinds of cats and dogs for about 15 years and have experience volunteering and fostering with both elderly and newborn pets. Most of my work includes feeding, cleaning, bathing, and occasionally medicinal or bottle feeding care (if needed). I am currently working part time, but I still have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I am available every day during the week. I don’t have a set schedule with work, but it is very flexible and can be discussed depending on your schedule. I personally have strict rules of keeping my pets inside at night due to frequent coyote sites in my area, and have no problem reigning in your pets if needed as well for whatever reason. I can absolutely bend to my clients rules in whatever means I can to ensure their pets safety.

“This was my first time using Rover. Riley came to meet us before we left on vacation, which was reassuring. It was nice to know we were in good hands! Riley always spent time with our cat, Lexi, even when Lexi was not being the best company! Riley is dependable and was great with Lexi!”

“Kate did a wonderful job dropping in on our two dogs and helping with walking in the evenings during our week long trip. It was so comforting knowing that they were being well taken care of!”

“Brooklyn is the absolute best! She is so sweet, caring & diligent & went above & beyond caring for my Mia & keeping her company. 100% recommend and will definitely use her again. Mia is elderly & deaf & was heartbreaking to leave (for personal matters) but we (Mia & i) were comfortable after just a couple of days. She dropped in on her for (23)! days!”

About: With over 20 years of pet care experience, I pay close attention to the needs of your pets. I grew up with dogs and cats and learned how to care for them from a very young age. I've seen pets at all ages and stages and observe them closely for any abnormal or concerning behavior. Under my care, your babies are my babies, and they receive only the best quality of care! I'm available 6 days a week: Sunday through Thursday from 8am to 9pm and on Fridays from 8am to 6pm. Just let me know when your baby needs attention and I'll be there! I feed your pets at their scheduled meal times if they have it, take them on walks or runs, and give them a simple groom with a comb/brush and clean their ears if requested. I can play with them and have them do commands and tricks if they know them. Happy pets make me happy too! I will also happily provide references that you can call upon request.

“Malarie was awesome. She came out of her shell at to get the details about my pets care. I was worried about finding a babysitter for my iguana and how he was going to get his fresh veggies and Malarie save the day! She took great care of my senior cat and my iguana while I was away. I would definitely hire her again.”

About: Although my career for the past 20 years has been in the mental health field, my passion is also for animals. I did not grow up with dogs, but had many cats, birds, turtles, snakes, and fish. Finally at the age of 34 I adopted my first dog, a pomeranian named Winston. He became the absolute love of my life quickly. I understood why so many people become so bonded with their doggies. Winston was by my side even when humans weren't. I never laughed so hard playing with him all those years and then never cried so hard when he passed recently. I miss him every single day. But feel so blessed to have had him in my life. Although I am not ready to get another dog, I am absolutely looking forward to helping other people with their family pets. I know I was extremely OCD with Winstons care and did not trust many people with him when I had to work or travel. So it means a lot to me to be trusted with your family pet. Plus, I get to have fun doing something that brings me joy! I am currently working part time so am pretty flexible. I am up early as well so can be the early helper if someone needs it. I am always mindful of my environment and will be so when I approach your house and pet. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years so am good at assessing a situation, staying calm and making good judgement calls. Safety is always a priority also. I want you and your pet to trust me and be safe.

Jourdan was absolutely amazing! Both of our senior dogs, Winston and Oliver, are declining in health, and one of them became quite sick just before we left for vacation. She went above and beyond to make sure our sick dog ate something, taking the extra time, patience, and care he needed instead of simply rushing through the visit. It was obvious that she genuinely cared about his well-being. She also followed all of our care instructions carefully and kept us updated with detailed messages and photos after each visit, which meant so much to us. Caring for aging dogs with health issues isn't always easy, but it never seemed to be a problem for Jourdan. She treated Winston and Oliver with kindness, compassion, and so much love. We came home to two happy dogs and knew they had been in the best possible hands. We wholeheartedly recommend Jourdan to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and compassionate pet sitter who truly goes above and beyond. We will absolutely trust her with Winston and Oliver again.

Isabelle was loving and attentive and Flemming came back a happy pup! We are always training Flemming, so asked Isabelle to work on basic commands (heel, sit, stay and blanket), as well has ensure that Flemming was well behaved at her house, and with her elderly dog. Isabelle's training was excellent practice for Flemming - its good for her to listen to whoever is handling her, to behave at other houses and calmly greet other dogs. She also got a walk and some play time in the back yard!

Malarie was awesome. She came out of her shell at to get the details about my pets care. I was worried about finding a babysitter for my iguana and how he was going to get his fresh veggies and Malarie save the day! She took great care of my senior cat and my iguana while I was away. I would definitely hire her again.

I can't say enough great things about Johnna! She was incredibly patient, kind, and diligent in following my instructions. My dogs are quite shy and tend to be difficult with new people, but she managed to connect with them in a way that I've never seen before. She even found a way to play fetch with them, bringing out their playful sides and building a bond that I thought would take much longer. Her wonderful approach made a world of difference in their comfort levels. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and skilled dog sitter!

STOP SCROLLING! We’ve had numerous sitters for our three (somewhat challenging/unique) dogs over the past decade+, and Annie (Nancy) is easily the best. Beyond being responsive to outreach and thorough with updates, she is unbelievably kind and well-suited for caring for others’ pets. Our dogs adore her, and she is the first sitter with whom I have felt 100% comfortable regarding one of our dog’s special history/needs. Annie is a good listener and a responsible steward—the type of sitter to charge an exceedingly reasonable amount and then show up for extra long visits with her own treats for the pups in hand. She clearly has a true love of animals, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Do your pets (and your peace of mind) a favor and book Annie!

Amanda was wonderful with our kitties as usual. Both warmed up to her without any issues (even our very wary cat). Amanda went out of her way to ensure cleanliness and safety, while sending us great photos and videos of our little ones while we were overseas, which we found very comforting. We came back home to very happy kitties and will certainly have Amanda again as our cat sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
