About: Meet Your Pet Sitters – Dave & Sylvia 🐾 Hi there! I'm Dave, and together with my wife Sylvia, we offer a loving, safe, and fun home-away-from-home for your fur babies. Our story actually began with our shared love for dogs—so when we say we treat every pup like family, we mean it from the heart. I've been boarding dogs for years and have had the joy of caring for pups of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. After a short break, I'm back and ready to open our home again to your beloved pets! Whether it's a weekend stay or a longer visit, you can trust that your dog will be cared for like one of our own—with lots of love, playtime, cuddles, and updates for you, too. Our home is calm, dog-friendly, and filled with positive energy (and a few extra treats). We know how important it is to have peace of mind when you're away, and that's exactly what we aim to give you—with every tail wag and happy snooze. Let us be your dog's second family. We can't wait to welcome them in! 🐶❤️ My schedule is usually pretty flexible. I work remote from home and if I do need to leave.I have help from my mother and step dad. your dog's safety and well-being are our top priority. Our trusted, experienced caregivers provide a secure and loving environment, ensuring peace of mind while you're away."
“Audriana was awesome again! She took great care of our dog, and went above and beyond by spending extra time with him and even picked up the house some during the check ins. Highly recommend!”

“Very reliable and responsible. Clearly very knowledgeable about animals and would definitely have Katie back any time. She took the time to write out her visit summary and I loved the photos. Thanks!”

About: I’m a dependable and attentive pet sitter who genuinely enjoys caring for animals and making them feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has a different personality and routine, so I take the time to provide patient, individualized care. I was first exposed to animals through personal experience, having had my fair share of dogs, cats, and even birds– and have provided plenty of care to the pets of personal friends and family friends. I’m comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different ages, including senior pets who may need a calmer environment, extra patience, or medication reminders. I also understand the importance of communication and keeping owners updated with photos and messages for peace of mind.
“Morgan was a great sitter and went above and beyond my expectations. She was very communicative and made sure to send lots of pictures too. She was respectful of my home and dogs. I would recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve been house and dog sitting since I myself was a kid, and I’ve cared for a multitude of dogs, kids, and houses. I began watching my cousins, my cousins dogs, their house, etc. and as time went on I eventually cared for my neighbors dogs and house(s), neighbors friend’s dogs, as well as people I’ve been recommended to. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for older dogs, as well as dogs with strict dietary restrictions and medications too :) I’m currently working part-time, as well as part-time online schooling, so most of my days can be spent with the pets! My shifts vary from 4 to 8 hours, however, I typically work 3-4 days a week. Anytime I’m in someone else’s home, I treat it with the most respect possible and ensure that I leave the house as tidy as it was when I arrived. As for children and pets, I’m very observational and empathetic, so I do whatever I can to keep everyone in my care as happy and healthy as possible. I generally try to know where the nearest animal hospital/veterinarian as well as emergency centers are for every area I’m in, because I also like to be overly cautious.
“Emma is awesome ! For a first time user on this app , she made everything easy and had great communication the entire time . Emma definitely went above and beyond in caring for my black lab Lucy in which we look forward to booking with her again soon !”

“We used this app for the first time and got so lucky to find Patti! She immediately made us feel at ease upon our first meeting and our dog loved her right away. She even was able to eventually pet our 12 year old cat who is a really big scaredy cat with new people. She was able to do exactly what we needed with our pets while we were away and we did not have to worry one bit. Loved all the pics and comments every day as well. Can’t thank her enough for taking such good care of our fur babies! ??”

About: I have volunteered at the Monterey County SPCA and completed 36 hours whilst at college. I learned how to properly care for animals and carried out various tasks such as cleaning, ensuring the animals are physically active, and answering questions from the public. I have been around numerous types of animals my time at the SPCA from dogs to bunnies. I have seen all ages of animals from ten years old to eighth month old puppies yet, I ensure every animal is given the upmost care. Pet care fits into my daily schedule because I have two senior dogs of my own. Care giving is not a new skill for me I have been caring for animals for about thirteen years. Pet care is something that I am very passionate about and that is a job I truly enjoy. Throughout my life I have always been surrounded by animals. I currently have two Chihuahuas. One being thirteen and the other around ten years old. My duties have always been to feed them, take them out as needed, and occasionally take them on walks. I love all types of animals and my ultimate goal is to ensure they are in a safe comfortable environment.
About: I have had pets my entire life and I absolutely love them! In the past, my teacher has asked me to take care of her pet bearded dragon during school breaks. I have also babysat and taken care of multiple puppies and cats at the same time. Most recently, whenever my roommate was gone for a long period of time or out of town, I would feed and walk her dog along with making sure he got a lot of love and play time too! I just recently graduated and have a pretty open schedule while looking for work. I am happy to help take care of your pets whenever it may fit with my current schedule! I currently am living in a house with one dog. I am always giving him much needed love and attention, playing with him, and taking him on walks. I cannot take care of other pets in my own home at this moment, but I am happy to give the same love and attention to your pets in the comfort of their own home. I am willing to follow any instructions or anything else you ask from me if I were to stay in your home!
About: Hi there my name is Chloe! I have a lot of experience working for breeders taking care of litters and doing independent dog sitting. I’m also currently working as a Wags dog walker for several dogs in the area. My family used to work as hobby breeders so I have lots of puppy supplies and experience. I’m available full time and have plenty of space for dogs of all ages and sizes! I love being active and running or going on hikes with my dogs. My house is equipped with a doggy door and a fenced backyard. I love connecting and spending time with dogs, but I am also able to set clear boundaries to ensure your pup is loved and taken care of. :)
“Donna is a fantastic pet sitter and friend to animals! She helped me pill my cat Lucy, who is notoriously uncooperative when it comes to taking her medicine. For the first time in Lucy's life, we managed to get a pill down her throat. Goodbye, tapeworms, yaaay! Thank you so much, Donna!”

“What a gift Debra was to our trip. I felt 100% comfortable and knew I could enjoy my time away and that everything was well care of. She is so kind, caring and compassionate with our little fur girls. She sent me pictures and messages of the days events for them. When we interviewed on zoom, I instantly felt comfortable with her. When she came to visit and meet in person, she was cheerful, attentive and the cats took to her quickly. If you’re looking for a sitter that will care and be spot on with responsible as well and gentle and compassionate, Debra is the best! We will hire her for all our trip in the future. ❤️”

About: To me, a dog is first and foremost a friend — and in my home, a treasured guest who gets to keep their own habits. My goal isn't to make them fit my routine, but to help them feel calm, happy, and at home. With over 10 years of caring for animals, this has always been about friendship and respect for me, never just "pet-sitting." Comfort and safety first. I create a comfortable, safe space built on what matters most: love, respect for personal boundaries, and genuine care. Your dog should feel protected and accepted from the very first moment. A little joy every day. Dogs love their walks, so if yours usually goes out once or twice a day, with me we'll head out more often. Playtime happens every single day, and there are plenty of cuddles and conversations along the way — dogs really feel that. Careful with food and health. Meals and medication stay right on schedule. Many dogs will only eat when someone sits with them, so I stay by their side at mealtimes to make sure they actually eat and feel supported. I'm happy to care for dogs with special needs and those who need medication. A home where they can relax. I don't burden dogs with unnecessary rules — furniture and favorite spots are all theirs, just like home. Your dog gets to feel free here, not like a guest on someone else's terms. What you can count on from me. Detailed photo and video updates twice a day, so you can relax knowing your companion is doing well. I work from home, which means your dog has company and supervision all day long. I live in a secure, gated community with enclosed grounds — a calm, safe place to stay. Your dog won't just be "boarded" here — they'll be a guest in a friend's home. My care for your pet goes far beyond simple supervision — I give them home comfort and my full attention, just like I do for my own pets. I work from home, so I'm around throughout the day: your pet is never left alone for long, and I easily fit into their usual routine — meals, walks, playtime, and rest all stay on their normal schedule. I keep my days flexible so your pet's needs always come first. I can either visit your pet regularly in your own home, or welcome them into my home for constant, attentive supervision. If your pet stays with me, they'll be my only guest — no other animals competing for attention, so all of it goes to your companion. My home is in a secure, gated community with enclosed grounds — a calm, safe place where pets settle in easily. Whether in your home or mine, I keep things clean, quiet, and stress-free, and I always respect each pet's personal boundaries and pace.
“Amanda was wonderful with our kitties as usual. Both warmed up to her without any issues (even our very wary cat). Amanda went out of her way to ensure cleanliness and safety, while sending us great photos and videos of our little ones while we were overseas, which we found very comforting. We came back home to very happy kitties and will certainly have Amanda again as our cat sitter!”

“Khylei was amazing- my cats were very well taken care of, and my less shy cat even came out of hiding to say hello. I had so much peace of mind knowing that my cats were so well taken care of.”

Our regular Rover person was ready booked so I contacted Anna just a few days before we needed drop ins for our kitty and she stepped up and took great care of our fur-baby. Lots of great pictures on Rover cards came through from her visits to let us know our Roady was in great hands.
We had the pleasure of having Kendra do drop in visits for our cat, who requires multiple medications, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! She went above and beyond in ensuring our cat’s needs were met, was incredibly responsive, and followed all the instructions to a T. It gave us peace of mind knowing our cat was in such good hands. We’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Citrus Heights. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
