About: I have volunteered at the Monterey County SPCA and completed 36 hours whilst at college. I learned how to properly care for animals and carried out various tasks such as cleaning, ensuring the animals are physically active, and answering questions from the public. I have been around numerous types of animals my time at the SPCA from dogs to bunnies. I have seen all ages of animals from ten years old to eighth month old puppies yet, I ensure every animal is given the upmost care. Pet care fits into my daily schedule because I have two senior dogs of my own. Care giving is not a new skill for me I have been caring for animals for about thirteen years. Pet care is something that I am very passionate about and that is a job I truly enjoy. Throughout my life I have always been surrounded by animals. I currently have two Chihuahuas. One being thirteen and the other around ten years old. My duties have always been to feed them, take them out as needed, and occasionally take them on walks. I love all types of animals and my ultimate goal is to ensure they are in a safe comfortable environment.
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and grew up with pit bulls and cats, so caring for pets has always come naturally to me! I currently have a sweet 2-year-old pit bull named Alfie and a playful 1-year-old cat named Toast, so I understand how important it is to have someone you truly trust caring for your babies. I’ve been pet sitting on the side for the past few years and am now excited to make it my full-time job because it’s something I genuinely love doing. I’m experienced with puppies, senior pets, large dogs, medications, and pets with all different personalities and energy levels. Whether your dog wants an active run buddy, long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or a calm comforting presence, I’m happy to match their vibe! I also offer overnight stays, drop-ins, basic bathing, drying, and brushing. I’m very flexible while still staying organized and reliable, and I always treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. 💖 Im transitioning into making petsitting my full time job and business so im available every day of the week. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. I don’t do a lot of boarding in my home so if you have questions regarding that please ask. I know how nerve-wracking it can feel leaving your pet with someone else, because I’m the exact same way with my own animals. I think pets can tell when someone genuinely likes being around them, and I always try to make them feel comfortable instead of forcing anything. Some pets want attention right away, some need space first, and I’m good at reading that. My goal is really just for your pet to feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re gone — and for you to not have to worry the whole time.

About: I am a registered veterinary technician with nearly 10 years of experience caring for animals. I was a groomer and dog trainer before going to school to become an RVT. I am also the go to person to watch family and friend's pets. I run a grooming service from my home and can offer any grooming service or basic medical needs. I have also had dogs my entire life! I work full time as a registered veterinary technician, only 5 minutes away from my house. I have time to go home on my lunches to let pups out. I work 8 hour days and am home by 4:30 nearly every day I work. My husband is also home and helps me take care of our pups while I am at work. Most days, they are not alone for more than 4 hours. I take great pride in the exceptional care that I provide my animals. My dogs have several different outlets for exercise such as walks, chasing lure courses, and tug. I also have my own grooming business so my dogs and cats are always well groomed. I love to groom dogs and cats! I also have medically complex animals and am not afraid to monitor and care for pets who have medical needs.
“Valerie and Kevin were so helpful! I ended up needing someone to care for my dogs for 3 days during an emergency. And they took suck great care of my dogs and sent so many photos so I wouldn’t have to worry about them.”

“Ella took great care of Ozzie and kept me updated the whole time, which I really appreciated. He was happy and relaxed when I got back. Thank you so much for your help—I’d gladly book her again!”

About: Hello😊 my name is Alexis! I am 29 and I have been doing rover for over 3 years now. I have two dogs, Hazel and Zoey, and a cat named Todd. They’re my family and are part of my everyday life. I understand how hard it is to leave your pets, because I’ve been on both sides as a pet owner and Rover sitter. I have lifelong experience caring for animals, from small pets to horses, and I’ve worked in vet offices as a vet tech👩⚕️. I’m comfortable administering medications, including pills and insulin, and handling special care needs. My goal is simple, I want you to have a stress free experience and your pup(s) to feel safe, happy and at home while you’re away🏡🐶 I’m currently in a master’s program with classes only two evenings a week, so my schedule is flexible for boarding and daycare stays. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I’d love to meet you and your pup! I currently work from home and my schedule is 8am-4pm. I take my dogs on daily walks on my breaks as well as after work. I have a fenced in yard with two dogs and a cat. My dog sleeps inside with me and I feed my animals twice a day which I can do with your animal as well unless otherwise advised.
“Erin has been taking care of our seven cats whenever we go on vacation for a while now. She is fantastic. She’s made friends with four of the seven, which is pretty impressive because only two of the seven are actually friendly with other people. Everything is always well taken care of, and she doesn’t mind if we throw a curveball at her like last minute medication or food instructions. We are super sad on the rare occasions that she isn’t available on the dates that we’re going on vacation. She’s our first choice for sure!”

About: Hi there! I am experienced in elder, special needs, and brachycephalic dog care as I have previously worked in a veterinary hospital environment as an animal care attendant (kennel care, dog walking, and boarding basically). I have experience with administering dog and cat medications both oral and topical, bathing, cleaning up, walking, feeding, and giving lots of love to ensure they have a fun and enriching time. I absolutely love taking time to gain trust and bond with dogs that may be grumpy or shy! I work now as a pet memorial paw print artist and paint unique prints for pet owners of their loved ones. Message me to see if we can make a schedule together! I have a 8:00-5:00 weekday job that I am not able to do Rover during, but for holidays I usually can do check-ins/overnights as I have those days off from work. I would be able to specify anything over text and see what works best! I am unable to care for your pet in my home, but am more than willing to be able to stop by and care for your pet in the comfort of their own home! All instructions will be followed respectfully for you, your home, and your pets. I make sure any potty accidents are cleaned up nicely and toys that get pulled out to play with are put away neatly before I leave. I am 100% okay with being monitored during all and any interactions within your home!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Roseville
Madeline was an amazing sitter for our two cats! She was reliable, communicative, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. One of our cats requires medication, and she handled that with care and confidence, which gave us great peace of mind. She also went above and beyond by spending time outside with our cats so they could safely enjoy their courtyard time—something they really love. It meant so much to know they were getting that extra attention while we were away. We had two very happy, well-cared-for kitties. I would absolutely book Madeline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful sitter!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our cat sitter Caitlin and couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. She did drop‑in visits for over a week and was incredibly easy to communicate with from start to finish. She truly went above and beyond in every way. After each visit, she sent many photos of our cat, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She also left detailed, thoughtful updates every day, explaining exactly what she did during the visit and how our cat was doing overall. It was clear she genuinely cared and paid close attention to our cat’s needs and well‑being. Knowing our cat was in such capable, attentive, and loving hands made our time away completely stress‑free. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and exceptional sitter. We would absolutely book with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
