“Dave and his good natured golden retriever Ghost took care of my high energy Giant Schnauzer puppy Barlow. We have only had Barlow for 4 months, and though we train him constantly he's still such a handful. Dave had no trouble handling Barlow's high energy and the setup was perfect for doggy daycare. Barlow came home exhausted and happy, which made me very happy.”
About: Updated: 2/16/2026 - I home sit (for overnights) at my home in Citrus Heights on almost an acre for clients who need dog sitting up to 2 dogs or 1 dog and 1 in house cat (spayed or neutered). I only sit one client at a time with one or two pets so I can give them full attention as I am retired.. Cats will be in outdoor cat condo under carport at this time. I don’t book out farther than 90 days. Additionally, I do drop-in's from 9 am to 5 pm daily. NOTE: I home care dogs in Citrus Heights (near Antelope & Sunrise). I've owned a couple of pure breed German Shepherds and a few rescue German Shepherds, a Golden Retriever, and a medium mix dog. I've taken some doggie training classes. There are two other adults who live with me (dog lovers). Non-smoking house. Dogs are provided Britta filtered water. Let me know your dog's preferences for playtime... Frisbee, ball toss, tug toys, etc. for overnights (please provide the food). Look forward to meeting your sweet dogs. I do walk about around my large backyard on leash if you prefer your dog to keep up with walking training. It's a bit like a track in the backyard. Cats will be outdoor under a structured carport in a cat condo (with litter box access). I'll update you wtih daily photos. I can’t accept Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinchers, or Rottweilers for insurance reasons. I'm retired and looking forward to have dog guests. If you vacation during the summer months this will work well for you. In the house is great too. All my dogs have been indoor dogs. I have a fenced yard that can be divided and fenced for smaller dogs too. It's a big property and dogs can be contained in smaller areas if you prefer. See pictures.

The backyard is large and fully fenced, real grass, lots of trees and bushes for the dogs to smell for squirrels and explore. They both slept the whole way home, which never happens. I’m home daily and live in an apartment, so I’d be happy to care for your pet 4 to 5 days a week with love If you live nearby, I can take care of your pet at your place for up to 4–5 hours a day. While my love of animals extends to them all I'm most fond of dogs, especially the big, dorky ones My schedule is currently OPEN! Please note house sitting/overnight stay rate includes a 12hr overnight (5pm-5am; 6pm-6am; 7pm-7am or 8pm-8am.) walk/engagement and feeding. If you need additional hours, afternoon check in or other tasks completed while I’m there we will figure out additional fees during meet and greet time Pets are like children to me. About: I have grown up with both dogs and cats. My family would normally have at least 3 pets in the home at a time. My family owned smaller dogs, usually under 30lbs. I currently own a shiba inu and a Siamese cat. My shiba inu is a very shy and reserve dog, which has made her more dog aggressive. So, I have experience with dogs that require more patience and attention. For the summer I will have an open schedule. I will start school in the fall (Late August) and I will have reduced availability, but can be available on weekends. I will keep my calendar updated with any changes. I am flexible to your fur baby’s needs. I am happy to go on walks (long or short), playing fetch, or for any cats playing with their favorite toys. If they need water or food, I can provide help with that as well.

About: I had a black lab growing up and I would take care of him! I also care for my friend’s dogs every now and then! I currently work for myself at home so I am very flexible on timing for walks! I could even be available day of if needed. I have my shared apartment to bring the dogs. Preferably I wouldn’t bring the dogs inside my own home but happy to walk them or care for them at your home.
