“Alexandrea dropped in on our 2 big black labs for 3 days while we were traveling. She was always on time and very responsive. I had to add another drop in at the last minute and she was able to help us! I'm very grateful for her hard work and would be happy to use her again.”

“Derek and Leslie took great care of my 2 cats while I was away on a trip. They stuck to a predetermined schedule and provided timely updates with photos. I would book them again!”

“Danika did a wonderful job of watching our cat kimchi. She was even nice enough to split up the visits throughout the day because her automatic feeder stopped working. We would love to have her again!”

About: I’m generally great with animals and I’ve been a cat mom for 3 years now so I’m quite good at making sure a pet is taken care of. I go the extra mile. And follow directions pretty well. Just finished pet CPR training. I’m relatively flexible but prefer to work in the morning because my other job is at night. Totally free Sundays. I have class Thursday evenings right now and I’m usually at the gun range Saturdays but all other days of the week, I’m flexible. I do a bit of traveling but I will block off those days or I’ll let you know if I’m not available on your requested days. Just let me know ahead of time and I’ll let you know of if I can accommodate your request. I prefer texting via the app as much as possible. I make sure to respect your cat’s space and that their needs are met. I feed pets as instructed. Give treats as necessary. Make sure they have adequate water.

About: Every month or so I go and house sit for a few weeks at my uncles house and he has 2 big pitbulls while I own a frenchie and used to have a german shepherd and a few other dogs Im currently working part time at safeway but Im always available to come on my lunch or before I go in or after I get off to walk them or feed them or even play for a little bit I have a big fenced off back yard and my dog has a kennel to sleep in with a bed that we leave cracked at night to walk in and out for water and my cats roam the house freely while one is let out when she meows at the door

“The dogs were at first meeting defensive which is natural. Within minutes they relaxed and were comfortable with Tylyn. Nice pictures were taken everyday, the yard was cleaned up and she did a little extra watering. I was very comfortable with her dropping in for a total of nine days.”

“Malarie was awesome. She came out of her shell at to get the details about my pets care. I was worried about finding a babysitter for my iguana and how he was going to get his fresh veggies and Malarie save the day! She took great care of my senior cat and my iguana while I was away. I would definitely hire her again.”

“Johnna once again made it possible for us to do a really important trip to care for relatives. We are so grateful to her. We could not do everything we have to do right now without her. We know she will simply always take care of our animals, and we never have to worry.”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, fish, and even a bunny! I’ve also cared for neighbors’ pets, including both big and small dogs and cats. I’m comfortable following feeding routines, providing playtime and companionship, giving pets plenty of attention, and making sure they feel safe and cared for while their families are away. I’m responsible, patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals! I’m currently a student at Sacramento State and have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, so my availability is more limited during late mornings through early evenings on those days. I also have a baby, so I may need to coordinate visits around his schedule or most likely bring him with me to services with animals who are ok with kiddos. I’m happy to communicate ahead of time and work with each family to find a schedule that works well for everyone! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m happy to care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual needs, follow their owner’s instructions carefully, and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, food, and fresh water. I’ll also keep their space clean and provide regular updates so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for!
“Michael is my go to pet sitter for Stella when I am traveling. I have used Michael 3 times now and will continue to request his services for Stella in the future. Michael always finds a way to accommodate my needs and schedule for Stella while I am away (even when I book last minute, sorry about that Michael). Michael is a friendly person who is responsible and caring with the pets and their homes he is tasked with! Thanks again Michael.”

About: Hello there! My name is Brenda and I am new to the Greater Sacramento area. Before moving to Rancho Cordova I volunteered at the Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA. I've always been an animal lover and have experience caring for both dogs and cats, including my own pets and helping care for family and friends' pets. I'm comfortable with different personalities and understand that every pet has their own routine, preferences, and quirks. I'm naturally very patient and attentive with animals, and I genuinely enjoy to know their personalities. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers to relax and cuddle, I'm happy to meet them where they're at and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. My schedule is very flexible right now, so I have plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, or boarding — mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I may eventually pick up part-time work, but even then I’d still have consistent time set aside for pet care. There’s also a park right across the street from my apartment, so daily walks and playtime are easy to build into the routine. I enjoy having a reason to get outside, stay active, and spend time with animals, so walks and drop-in visits fit really naturally into my day. I am also able to plan my schedule around your pet's routine and make sure they get the attention and care they need rather than feeling like they're just being checked off my list. Your pets safety and comfort are my biggest priorities. I always want pets to feel secure and comfortable in their environment. I live in an apartment with two cats of my own so I don’t currently have dogs at home — just a calm, clean space I keep consistent for any pet staying with me. My cats are used to visitors and generally easygoing, but I’m happy to talk through introductions ahead of time if that matters for your pet. There’s a park directly across the street, which makes it easy to get dogs outside for exercise multiple times a day. I'm respectful of your home, your pet's normal routine. I'll make sure doors and gates are secure, follow feeding and medication instructions when needed, and pay attention to anything that seems unusual with your pet. Most importantly, I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, so I'll treat them with the same patience and care I could want for my own.
About: I’m Lauren—Keeper of Cats, Walker of Dogs, with 25 years of experience caring for animals of all ages and personalities. My approach is quiet, steady, and respectful of each pet’s natural rhythm. Cats are my specialty. I’m comfortable with shy, senior, independent, or affectionate cats, and I follow their lead. I’ve handled medication, special diets, and slow‑paced routines with care. For dogs, I focus on gentle, unhurried walks and calm companionship while still providing full dog care—walks, feeding, playtime, and routine support. I’m a great fit for friendly, easygoing dogs who enjoy steady energy and consistent routines. Services include: • Cat visits, meds, litter care • Dog walks & drop‑ins • Overnights for cats or mellow dogs • Fish feeding • Thoughtful updates + photos If your pets prefer a peaceful presence and steady hands, I’d love to care for them. I work full‑time from home in an emotionally heavy line of work, and caring for animals is the bright, grounding rhythm that keeps me balanced. Stepping away to spend time with your pets—whether it’s a quiet cat visit or a peaceful walk—adds light and calm to my week, and I’m grateful for it. I care for pets by keeping their world steady. In your home, I follow your routines—feeding, litter care, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I move at your pet’s pace, whether that means quiet company or active engagement, all while keeping your space tidy and your pets grounded and comfortable.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gold River
Brooklyn made check-in and feeding visits to our three dogs and one cat for a week while we were traveling. She did a fantastic job with our ultra-shy, rather anxious large dogs. She was reliable and promptly responsive to my questions, so much so, that one evening she returned to our house at 9:00 p.m. at night to check on one of our dogs. We were very happy with her service and will definitely request her help again in the future.

Mariah took care of our very timid cats while we were away for seven days. We scheduled her to come only once a day as the cats are very frightened of new people. She followed the written instructions and I was able to communicate with her any potential problems. We would absolutely book her again if we need cat care.

Kerrigan is great! She took care of our 2 cats, who never make themselves seen when someone comes to the house, and even managed to send pictures!! She didn't have a problem doing a few extra tasks (asked ahead of time) and was very communicative. I think we found our new petsitter!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Caring for a senior dog along with our cat, turtle, bird, and fish is no small task, and she handled it all with incredible attention and care. It was clear from the updates that our pets were not just looked after—they were genuinely happy and comfortable. We especially loved the frequent photos and updates while we were away. They gave us real peace of mind and let us actually enjoy our trip knowing everything at home was in great hands. We came home to calm, well-cared-for pets and a house just as we left it. Truly above and beyond—highly recommend.
Levi was absolutely wonderful to work with! So kind, friendly, and easygoing—we felt completely comfortable leaving all our pets in Levi’s care. Communication was great throughout, and the photo updates of our pet family while we were traveling were such a thoughtful touch. Two thumbs up for Levi, who truly does an outstanding job. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
