About: I’ve been house and pet sitting for two years, caring for the home and animals of family and friends who trust me with what matters most to them. That trust is something I take seriously - every client I’ve worked with has told me their house was cleaner when I left than when they went away, and their pets were happier for having me around. What sets me apart: I treat your house like it’s mine to protect, not just occupy. Dishes clean, surfaces wiped, everything put back where it belongs - you’ll come back to a space that feels cared for and not just sat in. I keep your pets routine exactly as they know. Feeding times, walk schedules, medication, bedtime habits - I stick to it precisely, because I know animals feel safest when nothing changes. I have real experience with a wide range of pets and needs. I’ve cared for Labs, show dogs, dogs on medication schedules, and senior dogs, along with senior cats and cats on special diets. I’m comfortable handling medication administration, mobility needs, and extra attention older or health conscious pets require - nothing catches me off guard. I’m a life long animal person, not just a sitter. In have two cats of my own, so I understand pet behavior and needs firsthand - from routine care to reading the subtle cues that tell you something’s off. I come with a track record, not just promises. Two years of repeat sits with the same families and friends means I have real references who can speak consistency, trustworthiness, and care. Whether it’s a weekend or an extended trip, I’ll treat your home and pets like they’re my own responsibility to protect - because to me, they are. I'm home for the summer from college with no other job commitments, so pet care is my main focus during this time. That means I have flexible, wide-open availability throughout the day and week — including weekdays, weekends, and extended stretches for house sitting. Since I don't have a 9-to-5 pulling me away, I can be fully present with your pets rather than squeezing in visits between other obligations. Whether it's a quick daily check-in or a multi-day house sit, I have the time and attention to give your cats a consistent, calm routine while you're away. Whether I'm in your home or out on a walk, safety and consistency come first — pets feel most comfortable when their environment feels calm and predictable, so that's what I aim to create every time. In Your Home (Drop-Ins & House Sitting): I treat every home like it's not my own to take liberties with, but exactly as it was entrusted to me. That means: Following your instructions to the letter — feeding amounts, medication schedules, house rules (furniture, gates, closed doors) are treated as non-negotiable, not suggestions. Keeping doors and gates secured at all times, especially during entry and exit, so there's no risk of an escape. Doing a quick safety scan on arrival — checking that nothing's been knocked over, chewed, or left in a place that could be a hazard, and that food/water bowls are clean and full. Keeping cleaning supplies, medications, and anything toxic out of reach, and letting you know right away if I notice something that could pose a risk (an unlatched cabinet, a chewed cord, etc.). For house sitting specifically, maintaining your home's normal security — lights on a sensible schedule, doors locked, and treating your space with full respect and privacy. Sending photo/video updates so you can see, not just hear, that your pet is safe and settled. On Walks: A secure leash-and-collar (or harness) check before we ever step outside — I don't take a pet out the door until I've confirmed the gear is snug and secure. Sticking to routes I know well, so I can anticipate things like busy intersections, off-leash dogs, or construction — and adjusting the pace or path if something feels unsafe. Carrying water on hot days and watching closely for signs of overheating, fatigue, or discomfort. Keeping a firm, calm hold and clear boundaries around other dogs or people, so your pet never feels put in an unpredictable situation. Immediate check-ins with you if anything unexpected happens — an injury, an unusual reaction, anything out of the ordinary — rather than waiting until the visit is over. Building Trust: For every new pet, I take the first visit slow: letting them approach me on their own terms, learning their specific cues (what makes them anxious, what makes them relax), and following any introduction routine you'd like. I'd rather spend a little extra time earning a pet's trust up front than rush into handling that makes them uncomfortable. That calm, structured approach is really the foundation of everything I do — pets do best when they know exactly what to expect from the humans around them, and that's exactly what I aim to provide.
“Alexandrea dropped in on our 2 big black labs for 3 days while we were traveling. She was always on time and very responsive. I had to add another drop in at the last minute and she was able to help us! I'm very grateful for her hard work and would be happy to use her again.”

“Without much notice, Brooklyn was able to drop in and tend to my two cats over the Memorial Day weekend. She is flexible, communicates well, follows instructions, and provided lots of pics during her visit. I’d have no problem using her services the next time I need pet care services.”

“Malarie was awesome. She came out of her shell at to get the details about my pets care. I was worried about finding a babysitter for my iguana and how he was going to get his fresh veggies and Malarie save the day! She took great care of my senior cat and my iguana while I was away. I would definitely hire her again.”

“5/5 Stars! I am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional care Hillary and her husband provided to my beloved dog, Taz! From the moment I dropped Taz off, I knew I was leaving him in capable and compassionate hands. Despite a few unexpected mishaps, including Taz's Houdini-like escape into a prepared crate in the house, Hillary and her husband handled the situation with professionalism and calm. They ensured Taz was safe, happy, and fed on time, giving me complete peace of mind while I was away. What truly sets Hillary and her husband apart, however, is the genuine love and care they show to the dogs in their charge. It's clear they have a deep passion for animals and take the time to understand each dog's unique personality and needs. I highly recommend Hillary and her husband to anyone seeking top-notch pet care. They are trustworthy, reliable, and truly exceptional in every way. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of Taz – I'm forever grateful!”

“Johnna is an amazing pet sitter. I can’t tell you how reassuring it is to know that she is the one in our home taking care of our beloved pets. I feel very fortunate to have found her.”

“Barbara was great! She took care of our two cats and dog. She is very sweet and took great care of them. She had to make our fussy dog her special food and she was very good at communicating with us. We will definitely book with her next time. Thank you Barbara!!”

“Derek & Leslie were absolutely wonderful with Moose. Leslie sent photos daily, and it was obvious how happy my dog was. I came home to a very happy household and will certainly ask them to visit with Moose and my cat again. Top notch.”

About: Having been through some pretty big life changes recently, I’m reminded to slow down and focus on things that make me happy. One thing that makes me happy is dogs. I’ve also wanted to get out and take more walks, so what better way to enjoy both than dog walking. I’ve had pets of all types all my life, but dogs are hands down my favorite. I currently have two of my own and occasionally watch my friends’ dogs. A friend of mine uses Rover, and I’ve been a pet sitter since I was a teen, so I thought I’d give it a try. I have taken a few training classes when my dog was a puppy and I have some experience with special needs (seniors, blindness, low mobility, and seizures). I work full time, but telework three days a week. For midday visits and dog walks, someone close to home would be best to ensure availability. We can always discuss evening visits or walks as well. For boarding, unless discussed and scheduled prior, weekends would best to ensure I can be home with your fur babe. I treat visiting pups like my own. They’re allowed on my furniture and in my bed. I have multiple crates of various sizes if a crate is needed. My yard is fenced, but dogs aren’t typically left unattended in the yard. I have seven free range chickens in my yard, so their safety is also a concern for me. I’m also open to discussion if your dogs’ needs don’t align with my typical routine; I don’t mind changing things up if it’s something I can accommodate.
About: I’ve been a proud pet parent and sitter for over 20 years, and I know how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family. I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes, cats with every personality, and even senior pets who need a little extra love. I treat every pet like my own; whether that means long walks, playtime, cuddles, or keeping routines just right. I’m reliable, attentive, and always happy to send photo updates so you know your pets are safe and happy while you’re away. For me, pet sitting isn’t just a job, it’s what I love. 🐾 I have a very flexible schedule! I am pretty much always home, playing with my cat or tending my garden. I go to school online so that can be done from any location with wifi. I have plenty of free time to make sure your fury friends needs are met! I love and appreciate a detailed list of your pets wants and needs so as their routine isn’t disturbed in your absence. My calm yet assertive style coupled with my fun and energetic personality help me to ensure every pet I encounter is not only safe but trusts me enough to let their guard down and play!

About: I have had at least 3 pets my entire life, and that was at my parents' house. I have pet-sat for numerous friends and family members. I have cared for dogs ranging from puppies to senior cuties! I currently have 1 cat at my mom's, 2 dogs, and a cat at my dad's. I am very comfortable with animals, and I am always making sure that they are being taken care of and are having a fun time! I am currently working part-time, usually closing shifts, which are normally 5-9 pm. So I have plenty of time to play with your pets:) I have grown up with pets my whole life, and I am committed to providing a safe and fun environment. My number one concern is your pets:)
“This is the second time I’ve hired Donna as my pet sitter, and once again, she has exceeded all expectations. During my 6-week vacation, she took phenomenal care of my two adult cats and three kittens, going above and beyond in every aspect of her job. Donna not only ensured that my cats were well-fed and looked after, but she also successfully trained my adult cat, Dusty, who previously didn’t know how to use a litter box, to use it consistently. She also trained the kittens to use the litter box, which was no small feat! What truly impressed me was the extra care Donna provided. She crafted toys out of boxes to keep the cats entertained and spent time each day observing their behavior and eating habits. Her daily updates were incredibly detailed, and she even noted the cats’ flavor preferences, which helped me understand them better. Donna’s commitment and dedication far exceeded my expectations. She provided the kind of care and attention that every pet owner dreams of. I will definitely be hiring Donna again whenever I need a pet sitter. She truly went above and beyond, and I am so grateful for everything she did for my cats.”

About: I have over eight years of dedicated hands-on experience, having cared for pets of all ages and backgrounds since I was 12 years old. Growing up surrounding myself with animals and pet care taught me how to read animal body language, build fast trust, and adapt to each animal's unique personality. “To all my travel nurses/healthcare professions in the STL area, Sydney is your go-to-person for your pet. 👏🏼 Her care, communication, and compassion is 5 star. She’s truly someone you can trust with your pet and someone you can trust in your home.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all sizes- from Yorkies and Tabbies to German Shepherds- since I was in elementary school. My neighbors, friends, and family have all trusted me to watch and walk their pets. I also have experience volunteering at my local animal shelter and working with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits of all kinds. Additionally, I have owned fish and guinea pigs, and I currently have a dog. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule and no pets of my own at school to take care of. I miss my dog back home! I work on-campus as well, and my supervisors prefer to work around my schedule. I have availability between my classes most days and evenings, so I have time to come by and care for pets. I can feed and clean up after pets, crate them if preferred, and walk dogs. I can stay with pets as long as needed to spend time with them, so long as my class and work schedules do not conflict. I have experience administering medication to dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs. I am comfortable with a wide variety of temperaments as well, and am very calm and patient when meeting new friends.

Mariah took care of our very timid cats while we were away for seven days. We scheduled her to come only once a day as the cats are very frightened of new people. She followed the written instructions and I was able to communicate with her any potential problems. We would absolutely book her again if we need cat care.

Kerrigan is great! She took care of our 2 cats, who never make themselves seen when someone comes to the house, and even managed to send pictures!! She didn't have a problem doing a few extra tasks (asked ahead of time) and was very communicative. I think we found our new petsitter!!

Malarie was awesome. She came out of her shell at to get the details about my pets care. I was worried about finding a babysitter for my iguana and how he was going to get his fresh veggies and Malarie save the day! She took great care of my senior cat and my iguana while I was away. I would definitely hire her again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Caring for a senior dog along with our cat, turtle, bird, and fish is no small task, and she handled it all with incredible attention and care. It was clear from the updates that our pets were not just looked after—they were genuinely happy and comfortable. We especially loved the frequent photos and updates while we were away. They gave us real peace of mind and let us actually enjoy our trip knowing everything at home was in great hands. We came home to calm, well-cared-for pets and a house just as we left it. Truly above and beyond—highly recommend.
Levi was absolutely wonderful to work with! So kind, friendly, and easygoing—we felt completely comfortable leaving all our pets in Levi’s care. Communication was great throughout, and the photo updates of our pet family while we were traveling were such a thoughtful touch. Two thumbs up for Levi, who truly does an outstanding job. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
