“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Maddison was incredibly responsive and respectful of my home. She took such great care of my dog, and I could tell my pup was happy and well looked after. On top of that, she was super kind. Highly recommend!”

“Wow! This was our first time working with Deborah and she was fantastic. We have three big dogs, an aging cat, and a snake and I’ve never seen them so relaxed and content after coming home from a long trip. The house and plant also look great. Five stars! We will definitely rebook with Deborah. 🐾🐾🐾”

“Cayla did so great with my senior dog and also 9 week old puppy. She even helped with potty training! She left my house spotless after leaving and continued to give me updates and send photos while she was dog sitting. I will definitely hire her again and I recommend that you all do too!”

“Danika B. was amazing!! She took care of our 5 dogs. She was very patient and loving to our high anxiety lab. She sent wonderful pictures. I appreciate her communication during her time with our dogs. I was very comfortable, trusting her with our five little babies. She did a wonderful job! I would highly recommend Danika!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life, big, small, tall, they always seem to gravitate towards me. My patience is why friends or family relied on me to care for their pet. I’m currently working part time on Thursday-Sunday but I am free Monday-Wednesday I go to the gym my days off but, I can always work around it so let me know the time and day. I have a trusted routine, daily walks, play time, and loving attention throughout my stay, to ensure your pup is safe and well monitored in your home.
“Mike house and pet sat our three fur-babies for four nights: 1 senior miniature poodle, 1 senior cat, and one young labradoodle. When he came by for the meet-and-greet, he was very attentive to how we interact with our pets and asked lots of questions about their personalities and individual quirks. Our two senior pets had multiple eye drops and an oral medication, all which Mike administered like a pro! He was very communicative and sent us updates with photos regularly. Our house was in perfect condition upon our return. We highly recommend Mike and look forward to hiring him again for our next trip!”

“With only meeting Meredith once before she stayed with my baby for the weekend, I felt very comfortable with her. She came in and my dog was immediately comfortable with her and I could tell Meredith was a very loving person. She cared for my dog all weekend, staying with her most of the time and taking for extra long walks which I am sure Mya' loved. Thank you Meredith!!!”

“I so appreciated Ronnie hanging out with Alfie! She was very responsive and kept me updated on how he was doing. Alfie was calm and content when I returned home so I know he had a nice time :)”

“Cheyenne watched our 11 month old mini golden doodle, Teddy, for 10 days. We were really nervous about leaving him because we had never left him before. Also, he can be a little rascal at times. Cheyenne handled him like a pro! She followed our directions to the letter! Not only did she take care of our puppy, but also took excellent care of our house! She watered our plants and went above and beyond and raked our leaves. I received many photos and videos of Teddy during our trip, which put me at ease. I felt confident that he was in the very best of hands. Thank you, Cheyenne for being an amazing sitter for our puppy! I would recommend Cheyenne in a heartbeat! She is friendly, kind, responsible, and totally trustworthy!”

About: As someone who grew up with dogs, both small and large, I've learned what it takes to make sure the puppies are well cared for, between giving them the right food, making sure they go on walks, and grooming. Our pets are our best friends and so we should take the greatest care of them, and I'm willing to do that for all animals alike. I'm currently a part time worker both on weekends and weekdays and have lots of time to dedicate to taking care of pets. The only time I would not be able to offer my services is dueing weekends. In my home, I have a fenced yard to allow for our big huskies to have space to play and run, offering them toys that I know would keep them entertained. I also make sure to clean my dogs and ensure they eat healthily.
“Brandie stayed at my house for 4 days with my dog and 3 cats. She left the house in great condition and even watered my plants and brought in my mail. She is a natural with animals. My dog developed a tight connection with her and she did a great job taking care of him even in the very warm weather. She was great with the cats as well; playing with them and tending to their needs. I appreciate that she kept the dog and cats apart as they do not like each other. I highly recommend Brandie for your pet sitting and dog walking needs.”

About: Hello! Im Joana. I’ve been around animals all my life. My first pet was a rescue dog named Marley who was 8 years old. Brandie is absolutely incredible. We have two cats and a little dog, all boys. Our dog has a lot of anxiety and struggles with new people. Within the first few hours he warmed right up to Brandie. All three boys looked so content and happy all week. Brandie was very communicative and always responded immediately. She did everything we requested and more. Went above and beyond in taking care of the house and our boys. We are so grateful to Brandie and cannot recommend her enough. She will absolutely be sitting for us again. We cannot wait to have her back and neither can Neil, Migi, & Buster! ❤️

Micheal came for an interview and we were impressed wirh his experience, knowledge of pet and house sitting. This was our 1st time we left a stranger in our house to take care of our pet. Micheal was kind, neat and respected our home. He followed our instructions and most important he took great care of our wonderful pet. They bonded and Micheal sent us pictures daily of our pet. Micheal took the stress away while not being our pet Chica. Thank you Micheal you did a great job.

Meredith was great. She was very caring and expert at taking care of our dog - Abby. She connected with us and provided updates and pictures, which we appreciated. She is a wonderful, kind and outstanding person to care for our dog or any dog, and our home as well.
We felt so blessed to find Kerrigan. She reached out to meet Harley before she watched her which was very reassuring. When she stayed and took care of her she would give me updates and sent pictures. She walked her a couple times a day and gave her so much love. I would recommend Kerrigan if you want someone who is quick to respond and who gives your little fur baby so much attention. 💕

We needed a last-minute sitter, and are so lucky to have found Kara! She treated our high-energy bulldog with lots of love and was incredibly respectful of our home. I will hope to rebook with Kara again and again and would highly recommend her to other families looking for a trustworthy, dependable sitter. She is also very quick to communicate and made sure to keep us updated with photos. Perfect experience!

I couldn't be happier with the amazing job Bradley did while watching my crew. He is reliable, caring, and so great with animals. When I got home, I could immediately relax thanks to the house being so clean and the animals so incredibly happy! Bradley is phenomenal and I'm so grateful to have found him.

My husband, our German Shepherd, and I were very happy with how Ginna took care of Tuli. She was very prompt and has a very pleasant disposition. Ginna is a very kind and caring person. She is also very careful, capable and competent. We will definitely call on her again and recommend her to friends.

FAQs for House Sitting - Alder Creek
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Alder Creek on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,839 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alder Creek. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alder Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alder Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alder Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
