“Cheyenne watched our 11 month old mini golden doodle, Teddy, for 10 days. We were really nervous about leaving him because we had never left him before. Also, he can be a little rascal at times. Cheyenne handled him like a pro! She followed our directions to the letter! Not only did she take care of our puppy, but also took excellent care of our house! She watered our plants and went above and beyond and raked our leaves. I received many photos and videos of Teddy during our trip, which put me at ease. I felt confident that he was in the very best of hands. Thank you, Cheyenne for being an amazing sitter for our puppy! I would recommend Cheyenne in a heartbeat! She is friendly, kind, responsible, and totally trustworthy!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Maddison was incredibly responsive and respectful of my home. She took such great care of my dog, and I could tell my pup was happy and well looked after. On top of that, she was super kind. Highly recommend!”

“Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on”

I can do everything from walks in the park to giving them baths. proper pet care is something important for your pets well being Currently I am enrolled in college at Sacramento State, my summer classes are online so there is time to check on your animals between my classes. How I care for my dog Is that she gets feed once in the morning and once at night. when I have time before class, excluding Monday and Wednesday this semester, I take my pup on at least a 20 min walk. She spends most her time outside, but sleeps inside at night.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 13 years and have experience with a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, bearded dragons, a chameleon, and a turtle. I cared for my own dog throughout their life until they recently passed away, giving me firsthand experience with the love, patience, and responsibility that goes into caring for a pet. I understand that every animal has unique needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning up after them, or simply providing companionship, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own. I’m dependable, attentive, and happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Im currently working part time and have weekends full open! Weekdays I am ready to care for your furry friend anytime before 9am and after 1pm. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I understand that pets are happiest when their normal routine is maintained, so I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any special care they need. I always make sure doors, gates, and windows are secure, provide plenty of love and attention, and keep your home clean and respected during every visit. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Niiyah was so fabulous! I loved all of the updates and photos, and I was completely at ease the entire time knowing my animals were in capable, caring hands. You can tell from the photos that our animals absolutely loved her. We will definitely be booking with her again for our next trip!”

About: I grew up with a full range of dog breeds and even horses! Those big pups don't worry me at all! I am runner who enjoys 4-legged company, and I currently use that skill while volunteering at Bradshaw Animal Shelter with their Pit Bull Socialization and Obedience Crew (PB SOC). In addition, I take daily walks along the river just behind my house. I find every dog has a unique personality that deserves patience and understanding, mutual respect is of the utmost importance to me. BONUS: I own an event and portrait photography company, so the check-in photos and selfies are going to be top-notch.

About: I’ve been house and pet sitting for two years, caring for the home and animals of family and friends who trust me with what matters most to them. That trust is something I take seriously - every client I’ve worked with has told me their house was cleaner when I left than when they went away, and their pets were happier for having me around. What sets me apart: I treat your house like it’s mine to protect, not just occupy. Dishes clean, surfaces wiped, everything put back where it belongs - you’ll come back to a space that feels cared for and not just sat in. I keep your pets routine exactly as they know. Feeding times, walk schedules, medication, bedtime habits - I stick to it precisely, because I know animals feel safest when nothing changes. I have real experience with a wide range of pets and needs. I’ve cared for Labs, show dogs, dogs on medication schedules, and senior dogs, along with senior cats and cats on special diets. I’m comfortable handling medication administration, mobility needs, and extra attention older or health conscious pets require - nothing catches me off guard. I’m a life long animal person, not just a sitter. In have two cats of my own, so I understand pet behavior and needs firsthand - from routine care to reading the subtle cues that tell you something’s off. I come with a track record, not just promises. Two years of repeat sits with the same families and friends means I have real references who can speak consistency, trustworthiness, and care. Whether it’s a weekend or an extended trip, I’ll treat your home and pets like they’re my own responsibility to protect - because to me, they are. I'm home for the summer from college with no other job commitments, so pet care is my main focus during this time. That means I have flexible, wide-open availability throughout the day and week — including weekdays, weekends, and extended stretches for house sitting. Since I don't have a 9-to-5 pulling me away, I can be fully present with your pets rather than squeezing in visits between other obligations. Whether it's a quick daily check-in or a multi-day house sit, I have the time and attention to give your cats a consistent, calm routine while you're away. Whether I'm in your home or out on a walk, safety and consistency come first — pets feel most comfortable when their environment feels calm and predictable, so that's what I aim to create every time. In Your Home (Drop-Ins & House Sitting): I treat every home like it's not my own to take liberties with, but exactly as it was entrusted to me. That means: Following your instructions to the letter — feeding amounts, medication schedules, house rules (furniture, gates, closed doors) are treated as non-negotiable, not suggestions. Keeping doors and gates secured at all times, especially during entry and exit, so there's no risk of an escape. Doing a quick safety scan on arrival — checking that nothing's been knocked over, chewed, or left in a place that could be a hazard, and that food/water bowls are clean and full. Keeping cleaning supplies, medications, and anything toxic out of reach, and letting you know right away if I notice something that could pose a risk (an unlatched cabinet, a chewed cord, etc.). For house sitting specifically, maintaining your home's normal security — lights on a sensible schedule, doors locked, and treating your space with full respect and privacy. Sending photo/video updates so you can see, not just hear, that your pet is safe and settled. On Walks: A secure leash-and-collar (or harness) check before we ever step outside — I don't take a pet out the door until I've confirmed the gear is snug and secure. Sticking to routes I know well, so I can anticipate things like busy intersections, off-leash dogs, or construction — and adjusting the pace or path if something feels unsafe. Carrying water on hot days and watching closely for signs of overheating, fatigue, or discomfort. Keeping a firm, calm hold and clear boundaries around other dogs or people, so your pet never feels put in an unpredictable situation. Immediate check-ins with you if anything unexpected happens — an injury, an unusual reaction, anything out of the ordinary — rather than waiting until the visit is over. Building Trust: For every new pet, I take the first visit slow: letting them approach me on their own terms, learning their specific cues (what makes them anxious, what makes them relax), and following any introduction routine you'd like. I'd rather spend a little extra time earning a pet's trust up front than rush into handling that makes them uncomfortable. That calm, structured approach is really the foundation of everything I do — pets do best when they know exactly what to expect from the humans around them, and that's exactly what I aim to provide.

Kaeli did a wonderful job with our fur babies!!! She provided many updates as we mentioned we loved photos and message updates, she gave our dogs great walks and took excellent care of our home! We wanted an honest person with a heart for dogs and this is certainly Kaeli!! We will absolutely be using her again!

Noelle was amazing! We would definitely have her back and recommend her highly. We have a more reactive small, rescue Velcro-dog, Bichon who is pretty cute and she immediately took to Noelle. My mom also noticed how calm our dog was when we came home which is great because she is anxious. Our home seemed cleaner than before we left! Thank you so much, Noelle!

Aubrey did an amazing job house sitting for us during a weekend trip. From the time I reached out online through the meet and greet and her stay for our trip, she provided excellent communication. She made sure to clarify any instructions before making assumptions which I always appreciate. She kept us updated during our vacation on her coming and goings and we received many photos of our girl. She took great care of our house and everything was exactly as we had left it. Our girl seemed very well cared for and happy when we returned, and like she had a lot of love and snuggles with Aubrey. We will definitely be using Aubrey again in the future and would not hesitate to book her for longer stays. Thank you, Aubrey!
This is the second time we have used Julie to take care of our Lily. The first visit after a meet and greet was a daycare stay in our home. It went very well, and Lily warmed up to her quickly. Now we used Julie’s services for a two night stay in our home. Julie has a really nice demeanor, she is warm, and caring. She followed all feeding, and medication instructions perfectly. Lily was in great hands, which gave is peace of mind while away. I would not hesitate to book Julie again.

Rebecca was very quick to respond if I had any questions. Our dog is almost 15 and needs help and Rebecca did a wonderful job. She sent pics and was very flexible. She left our place just as she found it and cut some beautiful flowers from our garden and left bouquet.

Amazing! Shy is a wonderful sitter. Shy followed directions and my fur baby loved Shy. Shy has a natural gift with animals. Shy also took great care of my place. I also had daily communication which was great since I requested them and was sent photos of my baby everyday. Will definitely rebook again!

Ryan is wonderful with our pets! He is able to handle our 92 pound hyper 10 month old lab and our 15 year old anxious chihuahua. Ryan communicated the perfect amount with us during our trip and left our house in the same condition as when we left. We already have him booked for our next vacation! Thanks Ryan!

Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on

Marie is a fantastic sitter! She took amazing care of both of our dogs, one which had just had surgery and needed medications. She gave us pics and updates through the day each day that made us feel so much better. My highest recommendation for Marie—we will always book her from now on! She’s just amazing!

Maria took amazing care of our senior pup while we were traveling for work, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met through Rover, she was attentive, kind, and genuinely interested in understanding Snowball’s needs, especially since our pup is an older dog who takes medication and needs a little extra TLC. Throughout our trip, Maria kept us completely at ease with regular updates, adorable photos, and sweet messages about their daily routines. She gave Snowball her medication on time, made sure she ate her meals, took her on walks, and even handled a surprise encounter with the neighbor’s dogs like a pro (she scooped Snow right up and kept her safe!). When it rained, she cuddled up with Snowball for a Gilmore Girls marathon, gave her plenty of scratches, and even practiced her little tricks. We came home to a happy, healthy, relaxed pup, and a spotless home!! Maria went above and beyond in every way. She’s trustworthy, communicative, loving, and has that rare intuition that senior dogs immediately recognize. We’re so grateful to have found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pet like family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

FAQs for House Sitting - Rancho Cordova
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rancho Cordova on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,870 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rancho Cordova. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rancho Cordova walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rancho Cordova maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rancho Cordova choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rancho Cordova. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
