“Cheyenne was great! She was really on top of communicating and sent many cute pictures of Bambi while we were away to reassure us that Bambi was being well taken care of. She really went above and beyond. I would definitely book her again!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Maddison was incredibly responsive and respectful of my home. She took such great care of my dog, and I could tell my pup was happy and well looked after. On top of that, she was super kind. Highly recommend!”

About: Animals have been a lifelong passion of mine. Growing up in Utah, I cared for a wide variety of pets including bearded dragons, snakes, parrots, chickens, dogs, and cats. That hands on experience taught me how to adapt to the unique needs of different animals. When it comes to dogs, I am comfortable with all sizes, from small lap dogs to large breeds. I bring patience, genuine love, and a calm energy that pets respond well to As a freelancer, my schedule is flexible and I have plenty of time and attention to dedicate to your pets. I am not tied to a traditional 9 to 5, which means I can provide consistent check ins, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Your furry loved ones will never feel like an afterthought. Pet safety and comfort are always my top priority. I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own. I come from a family of animal lovers, several of whom also pet sit, and I even have family members who work in a veterinary office. That means I have a strong support system and reliable resources if any questions or concerns come up. Whether I am caring for pets in your home or mine, I bring a friendly, kind, and attentive approach. You can count on me to be communicative, dependable, and genuinely invested in your pet's happiness and wellbeing.

About: Pet sitter with 6+ years in veterinary medicine, currently working as a CSR and training as a veterinary assistant. Experienced in medication administration, animal behavior, and monitoring health. Reliable, communicative, and dedicated to providing safe, loving care for pets of all needs. I’m currently offering part-time pet care with a focus on evening and night check-ins. I’m available for late visits, overnight support, and ensuring pets stay comfortable and stress-free during nighttime hours. Whether it’s maintaining routines, administering medications, or providing companionship, I offer dependable, attentive care when it matters most Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I prefer caring for pets in their own home, as it helps reduce stress and keeps them in a familiar, secure environment. With my background in veterinary medicine, I am attentive to changes in behavior and health and can respond quickly if concerns arise. I respect your home, follow routines closely, and maintain clear communication so you can feel confident your pet is in safe, capable hands.

About: I’ve never not had pets. My family has almost always had dogs, and I took care of a hamster and cat when I was younger. Today, my wife and I have two poodle-mix dogs (Togepi and Raisin) and two guinea pigs (Betty and Gertie). We got Togepi when he was just a couple months old. We got Raisin from a shelter in 2024. I’ve helped my wife with her Rover sitting since since 2023—she’s a 5-star sitter. I just graduated from law school and am studying for the California bar exam this summer. I’m available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. My wife plans to do Mondays-Thursdays if you need someone earlier in the week. I’m happy to care for your pet(s) however you’d like. If you want me to stay in your home while you’re away, I can do so on most Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
“Brandie you are amazing! Mishka and Nuggy had a great time with you. The home looks better than how we left it. Loved the daily videos/picture check ins. Hope to book you again in the future!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Natalie! From the very beginning, communication was clear, friendly, and professional. She took the time to understand our dog’s routine, preferences, and quirks, which immediately put us at ease. During the stay, we received regular updates, including photos and messages, which made it so much easier to be away. When we returned, our dog was relaxed and content, which says everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend Natalie to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive sitter!”

“Johnna house-sat for us while we were away at a memorial service in Los Angeles, and she took care of both our cat and dog, and our house. She was fabulous. She went above and beyond, as usual. It is lovely to have someone so trustworthy take care of our home while we are away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

About: I’ve loved cats and dogs and I’ve been around them my whole life. I’ve raised and trained three dogs, including one who is a certified pet therapy dog. I also worked for a year as a cat handler at a cat cafe, taking care of over a dozen cats including kittens as young as four months old. I’m good with people but even better with pets! I’m a recent college graduate with a flexible and open schedule. I have my own car and I’m happy to help with short term or long term care of your pets. I’ve had years of experience with cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. I can be active or lazy depending on their needs. I’m happy to help take care of your pets however is best.
About: I college grad! I’m pursuing my bachelors in environmental science at UW, hoping that this will help bring me experience! I care for a senior dog, helping her with the many diets we have tried. Occasionally I also care for a puppy, which is hard work but rewarding! I currently do not work, but I am looking for opportunities to! But because of my free schedule it allows me just that much more time to work and play with your pets! My senior dog has her special diets that I help her out with, and I always make sure that she is comfortable and using the bathroom, because it has become harder for her to know when. I have my own leash but because I have a smaller dog you may be more comfortable with providing one.
“Alex was great! All of our animals were happy under her care. She was very attentive and communicative. She even went the extra mile given the excessive heat wave that came through while we were away.”

“he hardest part about going on vacation is leaving behind our fur babies. Our babies are older, stubborn very spoiled and can be very difficult to care for. It’s really hard to trust anyone to care for them so finding Nhi was a blessing. I needed someone to stay at my home to watch over them. Nhi was very patient with our babies. She followed directions down to the smallest detail and took time to hand feed our finicky eaters when they wouldn’t eat. She gave them so much attention, time and patience. After a few days, our babies followed her around, they even wanted to spend time with her and you can tell they trusted her. I would not hesitate to invite Nhi back to our home to watch over our precious babies. She’s very trustworthy, dependable and caring. She kept in contact with us and provided daily updates and sent us the cutest pictures. We are already planning our next trip knowing Nhi is someone we can count on in the future. Thank you, Nhi, for taking such amazing care of our babies so we can enjoy our vacation. I highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter.”

“Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rancho Cordova
Aubrey did an amazing job house sitting for us during a weekend trip. From the time I reached out online through the meet and greet and her stay for our trip, she provided excellent communication. She made sure to clarify any instructions before making assumptions which I always appreciate. She kept us updated during our vacation on her coming and goings and we received many photos of our girl. She took great care of our house and everything was exactly as we had left it. Our girl seemed very well cared for and happy when we returned, and like she had a lot of love and snuggles with Aubrey. We will definitely be using Aubrey again in the future and would not hesitate to book her for longer stays. Thank you, Aubrey!
This is the second time we have used Julie to take care of our Lily. The first visit after a meet and greet was a daycare stay in our home. It went very well, and Lily warmed up to her quickly. Now we used Julie’s services for a two night stay in our home. Julie has a really nice demeanor, she is warm, and caring. She followed all feeding, and medication instructions perfectly. Lily was in great hands, which gave is peace of mind while away. I would not hesitate to book Julie again.

Rebecca was very quick to respond if I had any questions. Our dog is almost 15 and needs help and Rebecca did a wonderful job. She sent pics and was very flexible. She left our place just as she found it and cut some beautiful flowers from our garden and left bouquet.

Amazing! Shy is a wonderful sitter. Shy followed directions and my fur baby loved Shy. Shy has a natural gift with animals. Shy also took great care of my place. I also had daily communication which was great since I requested them and was sent photos of my baby everyday. Will definitely rebook again!

Ryan is wonderful with our pets! He is able to handle our 92 pound hyper 10 month old lab and our 15 year old anxious chihuahua. Ryan communicated the perfect amount with us during our trip and left our house in the same condition as when we left. We already have him booked for our next vacation! Thanks Ryan!

Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on

Marie is a fantastic sitter! She took amazing care of both of our dogs, one which had just had surgery and needed medications. She gave us pics and updates through the day each day that made us feel so much better. My highest recommendation for Marie—we will always book her from now on! She’s just amazing!

Maria took amazing care of our senior pup while we were traveling for work, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met through Rover, she was attentive, kind, and genuinely interested in understanding Snowball’s needs, especially since our pup is an older dog who takes medication and needs a little extra TLC. Throughout our trip, Maria kept us completely at ease with regular updates, adorable photos, and sweet messages about their daily routines. She gave Snowball her medication on time, made sure she ate her meals, took her on walks, and even handled a surprise encounter with the neighbor’s dogs like a pro (she scooped Snow right up and kept her safe!). When it rained, she cuddled up with Snowball for a Gilmore Girls marathon, gave her plenty of scratches, and even practiced her little tricks. We came home to a happy, healthy, relaxed pup, and a spotless home!! Maria went above and beyond in every way. She’s trustworthy, communicative, loving, and has that rare intuition that senior dogs immediately recognize. We’re so grateful to have found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pet like family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pamela was absolutely wonderful! She helped take care of my precious dog, Rocco, with so much love and attention. She made sure he ate well and took his medicine on time every single day. Pamela also stayed at my house and was extremely respectful, responsible, and clean. I can’t thank her enough for the peace of mind she gave me while I was away. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rancho Cordova on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 2,817 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rancho Cordova. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rancho Cordova walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rancho Cordova maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rancho Cordova choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
