“Johnna house-sat for us while we were away at a memorial service in Los Angeles, and she took care of both our cat and dog, and our house. She was fabulous. She went above and beyond, as usual. It is lovely to have someone so trustworthy take care of our home while we are away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Piper was great with my rambunctious, one year old Doberman! He has a lot of energy and Piper didn't miss a beat taking care of him for my work trip! He was very happy to see her! Thanks again, Piper!!”

“Alexis was the best! We would totally recommend and can’t wait to use her again. She was so communicative and really went above and beyond. She sent updates, followed the instructions we left, and even washed and remade the bed before leaving. Brisket loved the snuggles and daily walks.”

About: I've had and cared for animals ever since I can remember. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds and even rats. I have always had a natural love for animals and truly enjoy taking care of them like they're my own. Spending time with pets doesn't feel like a job to me, It's something I genuinely look forward to. Whether it's going on walks, playing, or just giving them attention and comfort, I make sure every pet feels safe, happy and loved while you're away. I currently have open availability and a flexible schedule, so I am able to give pets lots of attention and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, check-ins, or extended stays, I can easily accommodate different routines and schedules. I am available daytime, evenings and weekends as needed. For safety and comfort, I provide care in your home rather than boarding. I live in an apartment, so I'm unable to host pets, but I'm more than happy to stay in your home and follow all care instructions closely. I respect your space, keep things clean, and make sure your pet stays in their normal routine where they feel most comfortable.

“Dmitriy was great from booking through sitting. He was very responsive and was great with providing updates. Looking forward to booking him again for our next trip.”

“Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on”

“Riley did a great job watching Sadie while I was away. I really appreciated that she could stay at my house where Sadie was most comfortable. The house was clean, plants watered and she sent pictures which I also appreciated!”
“Zair came to our house for 3 nights to care for our dog, Laney. Laney is fearful of strangers but I could tell from photos sent that she was calm and comfortable. I really appreciated that.”

“Keishla took great care of my large dog and cats while I was away. She even won over the affection of my more skiddish kitten! From the meet and greet, through the end of the sit, Keishla was respectful, responsive, and professional. She spent plenty of time playing with the animals, kept the house clean, and sent several updates and pictures throughout the sit. I would happily book her again!”

“Shelby was amazing with our dog! He gets nervous around new people so we had a few little meet ups for him to be introduced to her before house sitting, which was very appreciated and definitely helped him warm up to her! She would update me frequently and send a lot of pictures throughout our trip. I will definitely be reaching out to her for future pet sitting needs and recommend her! Thank you, Shelby!”

“Brie did an awesome job. She was very flexible in scheduling, coming over to meet the pups and go over instructions. She sent pics of the pups and all of pups seemed to like her very much!”

“Joel took care of my large breed dog in my home over Memorial Day weekend and I am so happy with how everything went. Not only did he accept the job last minute, but he went above and beyond during the boarding, picking up after my dog in the backyard, taking out my trash from the bins in the house, and sending me loving photos everyday. Joel is an excellent caretaker.”
“Thank you Raina. You did a wonderful job taking care of my animals. My Bearded Dragon looked well loved and well exercised. That took patience on your part! Thank you for dealing with a senior dog.”

“Our first time using Ryan since moving to the area and he was fantastic! Gave us daily updates on our dogs and the house was spotless when we got home. Our boys can be a lot so finding a good sitter is hard but we would definitely use him again!!”

Ashley was wonderful! She sent updates 2x a day. We were so lucky to find someone that our all 3 of our girls loved on immediately. She made us feel comfortable, and we trusted her to watch our girls and our home while we were away. She lift our house cleaner than we left it!! We will definitely be using Ashley again.

Came home to two happy dogs! Erika was wonderful with both our energetic pup and elder buddy. And communicated easily with us humans too. She made it easy for us to enjoy our vacation knowing the dogs were having a fun staycation with her - appreciated her text with pictures for updates.
Cheryl was great. She communicated with me the entire time and provided a bunch of pictures to make me feel better about leaving them. She was very kind and understanding of my dogs individual needs and treated them amazingly well. I would use Cheryl again without a doubt.

Dylan was great with our two dogs and cat, even providing extra help since one of our dogs was still recovering from a recent surgery. He was very respectful of our home and provided frequent, thoughtful and often humorous updates about all our pets! Would highly recommend Dylan to anyone as he is a true animal lover!

This was our first time booking with Piper. She took very good care of our Standard Poodle Bundles for a quick afternoon sitting at our home. She was prompt, punctual, easy to communicate with, friendly, and respectful of our home. Bundles took to her very well and became fast friends. We’d definitely choose her again for future sittings. Thank you for the Baklava. It was awesome!

Drew was phenomenal with Meeko and Belle. I was traveling abroad for two weeks, and it was such a blessing to find someone who can genuinely care for blind pets—especially an elderly one with a younger, mischievous sibling. Drew was incredibly responsive, sent regular updates, and took amazing care of both the pets and the house. Belle is blind, senior, and sometimes experiences separation anxiety, but Drew was patient, gentle, and attentive with her. Meeko is a curious troublemaker, and Drew kept him stimulated while keeping the “trouble” under control. I’d 100% recommend Drew to anyone. I’ve already told my coworkers and friends—he’s truly exceptional.

Madeline is awesome. This was the second time she has watched my two dogs. She stayed for four days this time. I received numerous updates and photos. When I checked in Madeline was always quick to respond. I highly recommend her. Madeline is welcome any time she’s available.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McClellan Air Force Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McClellan Air Force Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McClellan Air Force Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
