“We appreciated Brandy’s thoughtful and responsible care for our three babes!! It was clear that they each felt loved, while we were away, and Brandy updated us with any questions or happenings as necessary. We truly felt at ease leaving her in charge with our fur babes and home!! Thank you Brandy!!”

“Erika was the best. It was my first time leaving Burton with a sitter. She sent me updates via text and was very kind and caring. I would request her again when I visit the area again.”

“Absolutely the best sitter I have had!! She sent details of each day and the best pictures. My house and my dogs were well taken care of and I couldn't have asked for anything more!! Ashley is awesome!!!”

“Alexis was the best! We would totally recommend and can’t wait to use her again. She was so communicative and really went above and beyond. She sent updates, followed the instructions we left, and even washed and remade the bed before leaving. Brisket loved the snuggles and daily walks.”

“Niiyah is amazing. She is so communicative, kind, caring, and reliable. One of my cats likes to eat strings, and even when they're kept away from him, things happen and he gets access to them - like blinds breaking and falling down (suspected to be from my other cat knocking them down). Niiyah told me right away when one of the blinds broke and when there was a possibility that Ellie ate part of it, and was so kind and willing to take him to the emergency vet when we were worried about him. Even with my cats needing twice daily medications, to be fed 3 times a day, the ER visit, and facilitating house tours by making sure the cats were secured in a pop-up tent (we were moving out soon and our landlady wanted to give tours while we were away), she still offered to watch Peach and Ellie again. If we hadn't just moved 3 hours away, we would request to book her services again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for everything, Niiyah!”

“Johnna house-sat for us while we were away at a memorial service in Los Angeles, and she took care of both our cat and dog, and our house. She was fabulous. She went above and beyond, as usual. It is lovely to have someone so trustworthy take care of our home while we are away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“My first time using a pet sitter and service. Raina responded to my inquiry within minutes and set up a meet and greet for the following day. Raina accepted the in house sitting for 5 days. Raina sent at least two photos every day showing Ralphie being himself which put me at ease. When I returned, the house was clean and taken care of. I'd definitely rebook with Raina again.”

“Cheryl was great. She communicated with me the entire time and provided a bunch of pictures to make me feel better about leaving them. She was very kind and understanding of my dogs individual needs and treated them amazingly well. I would use Cheryl again without a doubt.”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember because of the unconditional love, joy, and companionship they bring into our lives. I’ve also had cats, and to me, they’re all family—not just pets. ❤️🐾 Now that my children are grown and I no longer have pets of my own, caring for other people’s beloved fur babies has become something I truly enjoy. I give each dog my full attention, patience, affection, and TLC. Whether they’re young, senior, shy, recovering, or a cherished show dog, I care for each one according to their individual needs and personality. I also administer pills if needed as well. When your dog stays with me, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, happy, and loved—just like they’re at home. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind knowing your fur baby is being cared for as one of my own. I’m a mature, honest, trustworthy, and reliable pet sitter. I don’t smoke, drink, or have visitors. I’m also a homeowner so I’ll take good care of you house n pets just as I would with mine. I also take in the mail, making sure the pool man/gardener come in time, and taking garbage out. I leave minimal footprint at your house because i like to leave the place as clean or cleaner than when i left it. I provide services to the following areas: Roseville, Fair Oaks, Folsom, and El Dorado Hills. I’m happy to provide excellent references from pet parents who have trusted me with their beloved companions. I do take care of small dogs (1:1 only!) at my house too if you like drop-in services. Please message me. I’m retired so i have a lot of time for dogs/cats sitting…:). I’m available 7 days/week. This is the thing that I enjoy doing most. This also allows me to get my pet fix…lol..:). I really enjoy taking care of pets (dogs or cats) as though they’re my own whether at my house ( I live in a condo and we have grassy areas throughout the complex) or at your house. My goal is have them feel like I’m just another family member. I feed, play, and walk with them. I also check mail, bring packages in, and water the plants at your home.

“Michelle did a great job watching both my dogs. I will definitely rebook her in the future. I highly recommend Michelle. She was reliable, consistent, and was excellent with my dogs!”

“Shelby is amazing! She took care of our pup while we were vacationing in Costa Rica. I was nervous about leaving him because he’s quite clingy with my husband and me. She checked in daily, sending me pictures and updates. It made me feel at ease knowing he was well taken care of.”

“Joel is an excellent dog sitter! My dogs are my family and I usually worry about them when I'm away from home, but I feel totally at ease when Joel is with them. He takes consistent, thoughtful care of them, and it's clear in the pictures he takes that the dogs are having a blast.”

“Nate is a fabulous house & dogsitter. This was our first time leaving our 5-year-old 50 lb. lab mix rescue with anyone after having adopted her a year ago, and Nate was a perfect fit~~ professional and timely in all communications, relaxed yet confident in his manner, enjoyable to meet and converse with, and just plain kind and responsible. Nate stayed with our pup for a week, and we are so happy that we found him and he accepted our invitation. With confidence he has our wholehearted recommendation!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - McClellan Air Force Base
Cheryl is a sweet lady and did a great job taking care of our dog and home. She sent pictures and gave updates multiple times/day and even sent us a video! She happily did everything we asked her to do and even stayed an hour longer than requested because our dog wasn’t settling down well for bed. We highly recommend Cheryl for dog and house sitting!

Erika was very responsive on Rover and accepted a last minute request to watch my cats. One of my cats has a history of a urinary blockage with concerning signs right before I had to leave for a trip. Erika was happy to house sit knowing this and was willing to bring him to the animal hospital if needed. My cats were happy and well cared for while she was at my house. She kept the home tidy and cleaned up our litter box area as well. She also helped us bring in some packages that were delivered. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend her house-sitting services! Thank you Erika!

Ashley was wonderful! She sent updates 2x a day. We were so lucky to find someone that our all 3 of our girls loved on immediately. She made us feel comfortable, and we trusted her to watch our girls and our home while we were away. She lift our house cleaner than we left it!! We will definitely be using Ashley again.

Dylan was great with our two dogs and cat, even providing extra help since one of our dogs was still recovering from a recent surgery. He was very respectful of our home and provided frequent, thoughtful and often humorous updates about all our pets! Would highly recommend Dylan to anyone as he is a true animal lover!

Drew was phenomenal with Meeko and Belle. I was traveling abroad for two weeks, and it was such a blessing to find someone who can genuinely care for blind pets—especially an elderly one with a younger, mischievous sibling. Drew was incredibly responsive, sent regular updates, and took amazing care of both the pets and the house. Belle is blind, senior, and sometimes experiences separation anxiety, but Drew was patient, gentle, and attentive with her. Meeko is a curious troublemaker, and Drew kept him stimulated while keeping the “trouble” under control. I’d 100% recommend Drew to anyone. I’ve already told my coworkers and friends—he’s truly exceptional.

Madeline is awesome. This was the second time she has watched my two dogs. She stayed for four days this time. I received numerous updates and photos. When I checked in Madeline was always quick to respond. I highly recommend her. Madeline is welcome any time she’s available.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McClellan Air Force Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McClellan Air Force Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McClellan Air Force Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
