“Bill it's been such a great opportunity to get to know you and the care you provide for Ty Chi. I always felt secure being away and knowing that ty is in good hands with you and I'm sad that we will be moving out of the area because people as genuine as you are hard to find. Thanks again for everything and hopefully we'll cross paths again. Good luck on all your future endeavors”

“Jarrod did a great job walking my Alaskan Malamutes. He was an attentive and active listener, learning their commands and walking style. He offered positive feedback on the walking experience. Both dogs came back happy and relaxed. I look forward to continuing to work with Jarrod.”

“Ayla has been walking our dog for a month now and she has been fantastic! She is great at communicating what is going on and responds very quickly. Our dog has been so much happier since she started walking him. She’s exactly what we were looking for.”
“Michael is awesome! His communication was timely and clear prior to the visit. When he got here, he was great at learning and understanding my dog's routine. My mastiff Mason absolutely loved Michael and enjoyed his walk. He can't wait for his next visit!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have grown up caring for dogs, including my own, where I’ve helped with daily feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping up with their routines. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I love making sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for. As a college soccer player, I’m active, responsible, and dependable. I enjoy spending time outdoors and would love to help your pets get the exercise, attention, and care they deserve. I’ll treat every pet like my own and keep you updated so you can feel confident while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I enjoy spending time with animals and can build their needs into my schedule. I’m active and responsible, so I’m comfortable providing walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship while making sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I prioritize communication with owners and make sure their pets receive the attention and routine they’re used to. I have three dogs and love to keep them active and playful. I love taking them on evening walks. Their names are Bubba, Vinny, and Dodger!
About: As someone who grew up with dogs, both small and large, I've learned what it takes to make sure the puppies are well cared for, between giving them the right food, making sure they go on walks, and grooming. Our pets are our best friends and so we should take the greatest care of them, and I'm willing to do that for all animals alike. I'm currently a part time worker both on weekends and weekdays and have lots of time to dedicate to taking care of pets. The only time I would not be able to offer my services is dueing weekends. In my home, I have a fenced yard to allow for our big huskies to have space to play and run, offering them toys that I know would keep them entertained. I also make sure to clean my dogs and ensure they eat healthily.
“Ella was on time for pick up and drop off. Our walk was our first meeting and my dog went right over to her for pets! It was a great first experience with Rover and with Ella. I would, and will, book her again!”

“Mira is awesome! My dog was so excited for his walk with her, and came home and slept the rest of the day. She was on time, professional, and followed all instructions I had mentioned previously. It is obvious that she loves animals, and has a lot of experience with them. My dog loves her!”

“Tatjana was really fantastic with my dog. She took her time to get to know my dog during the meet and greet. She has an understanding of dogs and what they need. Definitely recommend her and will be using her services again. Thank you so much.”

“Cole was amazing with our beagle puppy, Cowboy. Cole was super communicative and friendly, and he took Cowboy on a long walk at the nearby dog park. Cole has dogs of his own, so he has a wealth of knowledge on how to train and take care of our dog. Would highly recommend Cole!”

About: I’ve been house and pet sitting for two years, caring for the home and animals of family and friends who trust me with what matters most to them. That trust is something I take seriously - every client I’ve worked with has told me their house was cleaner when I left than when they went away, and their pets were happier for having me around. What sets me apart: I treat your house like it’s mine to protect, not just occupy. Dishes clean, surfaces wiped, everything put back where it belongs - you’ll come back to a space that feels cared for and not just sat in. I keep your pets routine exactly as they know. Feeding times, walk schedules, medication, bedtime habits - I stick to it precisely, because I know animals feel safest when nothing changes. I have real experience with a wide range of pets and needs. I’ve cared for Labs, show dogs, dogs on medication schedules, and senior dogs, along with senior cats and cats on special diets. I’m comfortable handling medication administration, mobility needs, and extra attention older or health conscious pets require - nothing catches me off guard. I’m a life long animal person, not just a sitter. In have two cats of my own, so I understand pet behavior and needs firsthand - from routine care to reading the subtle cues that tell you something’s off. I come with a track record, not just promises. Two years of repeat sits with the same families and friends means I have real references who can speak consistency, trustworthiness, and care. Whether it’s a weekend or an extended trip, I’ll treat your home and pets like they’re my own responsibility to protect - because to me, they are. I'm home for the summer from college with no other job commitments, so pet care is my main focus during this time. That means I have flexible, wide-open availability throughout the day and week — including weekdays, weekends, and extended stretches for house sitting. Since I don't have a 9-to-5 pulling me away, I can be fully present with your pets rather than squeezing in visits between other obligations. Whether it's a quick daily check-in or a multi-day house sit, I have the time and attention to give your cats a consistent, calm routine while you're away. Whether I'm in your home or out on a walk, safety and consistency come first — pets feel most comfortable when their environment feels calm and predictable, so that's what I aim to create every time. In Your Home (Drop-Ins & House Sitting): I treat every home like it's not my own to take liberties with, but exactly as it was entrusted to me. That means: Following your instructions to the letter — feeding amounts, medication schedules, house rules (furniture, gates, closed doors) are treated as non-negotiable, not suggestions. Keeping doors and gates secured at all times, especially during entry and exit, so there's no risk of an escape. Doing a quick safety scan on arrival — checking that nothing's been knocked over, chewed, or left in a place that could be a hazard, and that food/water bowls are clean and full. Keeping cleaning supplies, medications, and anything toxic out of reach, and letting you know right away if I notice something that could pose a risk (an unlatched cabinet, a chewed cord, etc.). For house sitting specifically, maintaining your home's normal security — lights on a sensible schedule, doors locked, and treating your space with full respect and privacy. Sending photo/video updates so you can see, not just hear, that your pet is safe and settled. On Walks: A secure leash-and-collar (or harness) check before we ever step outside — I don't take a pet out the door until I've confirmed the gear is snug and secure. Sticking to routes I know well, so I can anticipate things like busy intersections, off-leash dogs, or construction — and adjusting the pace or path if something feels unsafe. Carrying water on hot days and watching closely for signs of overheating, fatigue, or discomfort. Keeping a firm, calm hold and clear boundaries around other dogs or people, so your pet never feels put in an unpredictable situation. Immediate check-ins with you if anything unexpected happens — an injury, an unusual reaction, anything out of the ordinary — rather than waiting until the visit is over. Building Trust: For every new pet, I take the first visit slow: letting them approach me on their own terms, learning their specific cues (what makes them anxious, what makes them relax), and following any introduction routine you'd like. I'd rather spend a little extra time earning a pet's trust up front than rush into handling that makes them uncomfortable. That calm, structured approach is really the foundation of everything I do — pets do best when they know exactly what to expect from the humans around them, and that's exactly what I aim to provide.
“We were going out of town for a few days so we needed someone to walk our dog while we were away. Amanda was nothing but amazing. She quickly responded with any questions I had and the photos she took were so great to see. The biggest win is that Phoebe (our 70lb American Staffordshire Terrier) loved being around Amanda. Everyone had such positive things to say about Amanda. We will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying Nutrition, and I’m focusing on pet care this summer. I’ve been caring for animals for over 10 years, including dogs, cats, and reptiles, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I’m comfortable with pets of all ages and personalities, from energetic puppies who need lots of attention and exercise to senior pets who need a little extra patience and care. I’m also very detail-oriented and great at sticking to routines, so I’ll make sure your pet gets the care they’re used to while you’re away. Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk, stopping by for a visit, providing overnight care, or simply keeping your pet company, my goal is always to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I make communication a priority and am happy to provide updates along the way. My number one goal is to give both you and your pet peace of mind. I’ll care for your pets as if they were my own, so you can feel confident they’re in good hands! I am very flexible and I am open to care on weekdays and weekends. I am usually available throughout the day, from mornings to late nights. My availability for care ends August 12th. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I pay close attention to their routines, behavior, and specific needs-especially during walks and daily care. With experience ranging from puppies to senior dogs, I adjust my approach to match each pet’s energy level and any special requirements. At home, I have a medium-sized senior dog named Amber who is very laid back and gets along well with other pets. When I care for animals in my home, I always do slow, careful introductions and prioritize safety and comfort. I make sure each pet has their own space and only allow interaction when both animals are fully comfortable.
“Alex has been great with our dog! She walks him once a week, shows up on time, and has a flexible schedule to come at other times when we have things come up. She communicates well and sends cute photos. Our dog has a few quirks (don't they all!) and she is very caring and patient with him. We are so happy to have found her!”

Zackary was fantastic to work with. We had initially been a little worried that we wouldn't be able to find someone to walk 2 large dogs at once. Zachary showed up and was able to put our worries to rest. We had a test-run where he showed up and put on their harnesses and took them around the neighborhood for a test run. He was so kind and willing to work with our special instructions (just come around the back, harnesses will be set here, knock on the back door to get the dogs to come out, etc) For the week we were gone on vacation, he had showed up on time , took them for long daily walks, sent updates and did everything to make sure we felt comfortable and that our dogs were happy, healthy and well exercised. Highly recommended if you're looking for a super-nice dog walker who is super-competent, punctual and great to work with. Thank you Zackary!! :)

Mira is awesome! My dog was so excited for his walk with her, and came home and slept the rest of the day. She was on time, professional, and followed all instructions I had mentioned previously. It is obvious that she loves animals, and has a lot of experience with them. My dog loves her!

Melody is awesome! She’s so kind and patient with my senior dog. She’s also super helpful and friendly with my elderly mom. I went on a trip and am lucky Melody was there to change my dog’s diapers, walk her several times a day, and assist my mom with feeding my dog. Melody really cares about animals and won’t hesitate to help you care for your pet while you’re away. She even did a meet and greet with me and my dog beforehand. Truly adore Melody and looking forward to using her services again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
