Keeping doors and gates secured at all times, especially during entry and exit, so there's no risk of an escape. Doing a quick safety scan on arrival — checking that nothing's been knocked over, chewed, or left in a place that could be a hazard, and that food/water bowls are clean and full. Keeping cleaning supplies, medications, and anything toxic out of reach, and letting you know right away if I notice something that could pose a risk (an unlatched cabinet, a chewed cord, etc.). For house sitting specifically, maintaining your home's normal security — lights on a sensible schedule, doors locked, and treating your space with full respect and privacy. Sending photo/video updates so you can see, not just hear, that your pet is safe and settled. Carrying water on hot days and watching closely for signs of overheating, fatigue, or discomfort. Keeping a firm, calm hold and clear boundaries around other dogs or people, so your pet never feels put in an unpredictable situation. Immediate check-ins with you if anything unexpected happens — an injury, an unusual reaction, anything out of the ordinary — rather than waiting until the visit is over. Building Trust: For every new pet, I take the first visit slow: letting them approach me on their own terms, learning their specific cues (what makes them anxious, what makes them relax), and following any introduction routine you'd like. “We had such a great experience with Grant. He took such good care of my baby, she even came home with better manners than she had when she went to him. Kyra stayed with Grant and his pack for a whole week and the whole time I received updates and pictures of all the fun she was having. After picking her up, Kyra was exhausted which is hard to achieve. My dog had so much fun with the other animals and everyday I received pictures of her daily adventures. His goal is to tire them out and make you feel comfortable about leaving them. I will definitely be using Grant in the future. Thank you, Grant!”

“Darlene is amazing!!! 10/5🌟 It was our first time leaving our pup for a few days and so we were nervous to say the least! However, Darlene made us feel so comfortable leaving our pup. We did a M&G and our pup warmed up to Darlene very quickly! Once we we left our pup, Darlene provided multiple different detailed updates each day (photos, videos). Darlene followed our pups day/ night regimen, which we really appreciated! Darlene also has an amazing husky named Athena, who became a bestie for our pup! Darlene is absolutely awesome and we’re thankful to have found her! Would highly recommend her!”

“Victoria has been a god send for our family. My elderly father ended up in a skilled nursing for over a month and we unfortunately could not take his dog in. I found Victoria on Rover and she took Buddy in and treated him like family. She kept in touch sending many pictures and was very accommodating about letting us pick him up to visit my dad. I could tell Buddy loved his time there. She will be my first call for any future pet care we may need!”

“Sixuan was incredibly attentive, following all of my feeding instructions to the letter, taking Andi on regular walks, and ensuring she had her potty breaks every three hours or so. Coming home to find Andi looking so happy relaxed and healthy gave me total peace of mind. She sent regular pictures with updates about her welfare . I gladly give Sixuan 5 stars for her excellent service and cannot recommend Sixuan highly enough! She did an absolutely wonderful job looking after my fur-baby!”
“Nancy took amazing care of my senior dog Abbey for a week while we were out of town. She took her on frequent walks, and gave her lots of attention. We got photo and video updates of how Abbey was doing. We felt like Abbey was in great hands while we were gone. Would definitely have Nancy take care of our dog again.”
