“Natalie is great! She was very attentive during our consultation for an upcoming house sitting for my kitten and pup but I needed her for a last minute drop in lunch visit. She was thankfully available and very communicative. Her notes on the visit were super detailed and included lots of photos of both animals. She was able to feed my kitten his lunch and take Snax for a walk. I feel very comfortable with the upcoming weekend - both of my pets will be in good hands!”

“Jenna was amazing! Super responsive and kept me updated while she cared for my kitty! She’s a cat whisperer btw lol, my cat is normally very scared of new people but she happily greeted Jenna on the first visit. Definitely recommend to others!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Kasey and Elizabeth! From the moment we connected, they were professional, friendly, and clearly experienced with animals. They took excellent care of Sunday, Ditty, and Peach, following all instructions carefully and even going above and beyond with extra playtime, updates, and photos while we were away. Our pets looked happy and well-cared for when we returned, and our home was just as we left it. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We’ll definitely be booking again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.”

“Erika clearly loves dogs! My friend met Erika at the house because I had forgotten to get her a key. My friend shared that both my dogs were excited to see Erika. Her report and pictures made me feel comfortable being away. When I returned home, the dogs seemed relaxed and calm. I look forward to scheduling future visits with Erika.”

“I have had an unstable schedule recently. Elizabeth has been very flexible with me over the past 2 weeks. I swell my dogs kibble as well as add “real” food like veggies, egg, yogurt, pumpkin purée etc. The feeding routine is not simple. She did everything as asked. My animals seem to really like her too!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 11, including my own family golden retriever and the pets of neighbors and friends! No matter what stage your pup is at, I’ll make sure to take great care of them! I’m a student currently, but on the days I don’t have class or need a break from studying, I like to stay active by walking with furry friends. I keep a tight schedule when taking care of pets, making sure to keep pups on their regular routine when their parents are away. I can accommodate any needs be that dietary, crating, activities etc. My main priority is to keep your pup healthy and happy.
“Michelle was great! She was attentive and caring towards my older shy cat. I liked that Michelle took the time to send great pictures and notes that made me feel and know my cat was in great care. Thank you”

About: I’ve owned both dogs and cats in the past, as well as walked neighbors and friends dogs! Moved to a new city so looking for new pups and cats! Currently have a full time job but find myself in one place most of the day so looking for ways to stay active! I’m available most weekends, and week day nights! I like to keep a clean space so am sure to clean up after animals, as well as have a safe space for them to play, eat, and use the bathroom!
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a teenager. I now have a rescue dog that is 111lbs, & at 6 years old still thinks he’s a puppy. So I can handle a lot of dog sizes, weights & personalities. Here for walks or check ins & feeding if you’re out of town or need help. Message me! 🐕🦮🐕🦺 I am available for afternoon and evening walks, check ins, feeding and play time. I am also available on weekends and Fridays after 12pm. Just let me know what works for you! I have a large dog at home that is a lot to handle so boarding in my home would be difficult. I am trustworthy and caring so you can trust your furry family member in my care.
“Holly was wonderful with my kitties. She have plenty of updates and took amazing pictures while I was away on vacation. The house also looked very clean when I got back, so I really appreciated that.”

About: I have long-term experience with excellent references, am an almost life-long cat owner (35 years), previous feral cat colony caretaker (2 and 1/2 years), and rescue and TNR experience, etc. I was raised with animals (cats, dogs, birds- a parrot and a bevy of peafowl (peacocks), fish, and my grandparents owned a ranch with horses, cows, etc.) so animals are definitely considered to be part of my family and should be treated as such! I look forward to gaining as much hands-on experience as I can in as many areas of animal care as I can. It's extremely rewarding for me to give love and take care of animals and I plan to do this the rest of my life. Thank you very much for considering me! I'm currently working part-time (extremely flexible days and hours) so I'll have plenty of time to play with and care for your pet(s)! I am a doting pet parent myself (2 cats) so safety of an animal/pet is #1 in my mind. I will be keeping an eagle eye's watch on your pet(s) while they are in my care.
“This was my first time hiring Karli as a drop in sitter for my cat, and I was incredibly impressed. She was very thorough at the meet and greet, and was extremely professional and communicative throughout the booking. She always wrote detailed updates on how my cat was doing for each Rover card, and she genuinely left my house spotless. I would absolutely trust Karli with my cat and home and would book her again.”

“Andrea did a great job with our kitties! Usually the apartment is smelly from their wet food after a trip but this time, no smell! She let them out for balcony time which is pretty much their favorite activity during the warm months. Pic updates were awesome too!”
“Sarah is wonderful! I have two cuddly, social cats who enjoy human interaction while I’m gone. Sarah is a great communicator, shared plenty of pictures and updates, and my girls loved her. It was so nice to know my cats were in great hands.”

About: Hi there! I am a recent law school graduate currently studying for the bar exam. In addition to growing up with dogs, I also have experience dealing with reactive dogs. For a time I had a rescue dog, Judge, who struggled with aggression, leash reactivity, and general fear/anxiety. Training with him and learning from him made me extremely educated on dog safety, care, and proper protocols when out on walks to ensure a good time for everyone involved. I recently moved to Sacramento after graduating law school, and would love to walk your dog (and maybe even help with some training) while I am studying for the bar exam. Hope to hear from you! My study schedule for the bar is exam is flexible as it is a self-paced course. I normally go for a walk in the mornings before I start my day, but I am free any time to assist! I have a large SUV that I’m happy to take your dog along in for a little adventure! My favorite daily walks in Sac is along the American River and I’d love to bring a pup along. I am also happy to stay local to wherever you live and wherever your dog is most comfortable.
“Thank you, Jordan! We really appreciated Jordan taking the time to meet with us before dog sitting. He did a great job handling our puppy’s rambunctious energy and we’re glad to have another dog sitter nearby we can trust. Cleo looked soooo happy with him!”

“Dustin is fantastic with my special-needs dog. He communicates clearly, is incredibly reliable, and consistently goes above and beyond. During our last trip, he even made an extra visit to let our dog out once the rain stopped- completely unprompted. It gives us real peace of mind knowing our pup is in such thoughtful, capable hands while we’re away.”

Samantha was very responsive and great at communicating! She was great with Cleo even though Cleo can be sassy! She respected Cleo’s boundaries but also gave her lots of attention. She followed rules exactly and put me at ease while I was away. I knew my cat was in good hands!

Sarah is such a fantastic sitter! She goes above and beyond to tend to my Bug's needs and wants. He loved her from the first meet and gave her lots of foot-flops to show his approval. It's such a relief to have a fellow animal lover that I can rely on to care for my buddy. Can't say enough great things and will definitely keep booking with her!

Khaili was great! She was available on short notice and we appreciated the meet and greet. Our cats were kept happy and she did great sending updates, communicating, and following our care instructions. I would highly recommend her and will be booking her to sit our kitties again!

Delaney has been our go to pet sitter for a while now. She is always very responsive in all messaging and takes great photos and notes with updates on how our kitties are doing while she is there. Definitely puts my family at ease knowing that they are so well cared for when we are away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
