“Ana took care of our two cats while we were away! She was amazing and payed careful attention to details. One of our cats is very shy, so she made sure to update us on how he was doing. You can tell she has experience with cats because she played with our outgoing cat and respected our shy cat’s space. Will definitely book again in the future!”

“Great communication, lots of pictures, and adorable commentary about my pet while I was away. Farm put my anxious mind at ease about leaving my pet multiple days for the first time. Very helpful, flexible, and professional!”

About: Hi! I’m Vanessa, a dependable and caring pet sitter who understands that pets are family. I provide a safe, loving environment and treat every pet as if they were my own. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities, including large breeds, and I’m comfortable with feeding, administering oral medications, walks, playtime, and lots of attention. I know how important it is to keep pets on their normal routine while you’re away. I currently am available on week days up until 2pm. On the weekends I am available all day!! :) Please feel free to reach out with your availability I am more than happy to work with you. At this time, I provide pet care exclusively in my clients’ homes. I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their familiar environment, where they can stick to their normal routine. This helps reduce stress and allows me to provide personalized, one-on-one care while you’re away.
About: All of my life I've grown up with animals. (Dogs, specifically.) Before I went off to college my cousin, whom I'd been living with at the time, adopted a german shepherd. This german shepherd, Bauer, became like my own. I watched him go from tiny little puppy, to this massive energetic and sweet protector. I am experienced in most areas surrounding pet ownership and responsibilities. I am very nurturing and energetic, making me just the person to take care of your cherished. I follow instruction well, and I'm also experienced in cat care as well. Just a few years ago I adopted two kittens, Panther and Jaguar, who both grew up very quickly. Unfortunately, I had to move a few momths ago and could not accommodate for them both. I, then, made the decision to leave them in the good hands of my neighbor at the time. Lastly, I am a Sociology student at Santa Rosa Junior College with an interest in basic needs, equity, and how pets play a vital role in overall health. I'm currently working on research involving these topics! I work from home and I have a 2 year old. With that being said, I’m up early and my schedule is pretty flexible given my toddler keeps me on my toes! My apartment building is indoor so no worries necessarily about your fur baby if they’re escape artists. I don’t have a balcony or yard so we’ll just get that leash on and go explore!
About: I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember. I love to train my own or take them on peaceful nature walk. I have senior pups of my own and younger energetic pup as well. I work part time and need extra money. I have time in my day to take care of others. I’m able to commute and take them on walks in peaceful areas. I can help you and your pup taking them on walks, making sure they are fed, and that their thirst is quench. Giving them company and playing around to get their energy out.

“Holly has been a regular for our energetic mini-Aussie. She’s given an excellent description of their outings and willingly participated in some of the training we’ve been doing for Good Citizen Certification.”

“Kendra was very attentive to our animals. She gives detailed check ins with pictures. I felt our animals were well cared for. I will definitely request her again.”

About: I have worked at a boarding facility for 4 years where I have plenty of experience caring for dogs of various breeds with different needs. I have flexibility with the time I have available to check in on your pet and or walk them. I can also stay at your place with your pet so they have overnight care. I always make sure to prioritize caring for your pet and keeping them as comfortable and happy as possible. I can follow instructions thoroughly to care for your pet and your home. I will ensure everything is cared for and watched over just as if it were my own.
“Natalie took excellent care of our dog, Junie! We adopted Junie just a few weeks ago so we are still getting her comfortable and trained, and Natalie did an excellent job being patient with her, going at her own pace and keeping up with the routine we are setting. It’s always difficult to go on a trip and leave our dogs, so I’m extra grateful for all the pictures sent, updates and love given to our dog!!! Would recommend and will book again!”

“Amy was great! We felt so reassured that our kitty was getting the attention she needed while we were gone. I appreciated the daily photo updates and could tell she took great care of our girl.”

About: I've done pet sitting, dog walking and animal care with Sacramento's Midtown Mutts and Front Street Animal Shelter. I also foster cats with the SPCA. I love animals because they return love so easily. I currently work full-time Monday-Friday as a school teacher. I'm able to do pet care and house sitting on the weekends. I look forward to caring for your animals. I'm able to follow your families pet care routine. Animals thrive on routines. I will also care for your home as if it were my own. Home is where the heart is.
“Dustin is the best! He is so friendly, kind of like family so you feel comfortable leaving your family pet and can relax on vacation. He watched our cat for us and even sent pictures daily. Will definitely use him for our next get away.”

“Hans was simply delightful to work with — great communicator, very dependable, and provided wonderful pictures and detailed updates during his drop-in visits with our two dogs. We’ll definitely be calling on him again :) Thank you for all your care, Hans!”

About: I am 19 years old doing this so I can make some extra money on the side and currently take care of my older brother, who has autism, which has taught me how to remain composed, aware, and reliable in all situations. Those skills are easily applied to pet care, particularly with nervous, timid, or sensitive animals. For example, my own dog has depression anxiety which I make sure to tend to quickly! I can easily fit time with your lovely pets into my daily schedule. I'm free any time after 11AM because I get my brother on the bus at around nine in the morning. Since I'm still learning how to drive, I typically take the bus, train, or Uber to get around. The only thing I know is that I might have to wait until about 5 PM for my mom to return if she works overtime on a Friday, but that rarely ever happens. There is a chance that my schedule can improve so make sure to keep an eye out! I treat every pet under my care as if they were a member of my own family. Making them feel secure, understood, and loved is always my top priority. By feeding them on time, taking them for walks or play, and making sure they receive lots of attention and are comfortable, I try to keep things as simple as possible. I make sure they have everything they require, keep their area neat, and regularly change their water. To reassure the owner that their pet is happy, safe and in good care, I also provide updates and pictures

When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them. I would love to be able to take them to the dog park where they can also interact with other animals while you're away! I am available for drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! “Noel checked on our Maltipoo puppy Cinnamon while we were at work, ensuring she had all her essentials, a potty break, and fun play time. We loved receiving her detailed visit reports with cute photos of Cinnamon, plus specifics on whether she peed, pooped, drank water, and more. Cinnamon bonded with her instantly and it helps that Noel is getting dog trainer training. Cinnamon can be a bit fearful of strangers so Noel’s experience was helpful.”
“Jazmin was so amazing!!! Truly incredible person with so much care for my sweet girl! Took her time coming to meet her beforehand and even fed a churu. I felt immediately comfortable with leaving the keys with her knowing she would be taking great care of her! No hesitation to book you again Jazmin and recommend you to everyone. Thank you!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Florin
My husband and I enjoy taking long weekends get-a-ways and trips, just like everyone else. However, over the past year, we've encountered challenges finding trustworthy pet sitters. Fortunately, a friend recommended Rover. As I explored Rover, several profiles caught my attention, but Anna's profile shone brightly. With her exceptional following and devoted clientele base, I was eager to learn more. I booked Ana to care for my two indoor cats and our semi-indoor rescue living in the garage for a few days. Not only did I request her exceptional pet care services, but I also asked her to tend to my garden, ensuring my plants wouldn't wither while we were away on vacation. The moment I met Ana, I was struck by her radiant warmth. Her kindness, respect, and positivity illuminated the entire experience, and her insightful tips put my mind at ease. She demonstrated genuine interest in my cats' unique personalities, quirines, and preferences, which instantly reassured me. Having returned from our vacation, I'm overjoyed to report that Ana has surpassed my expectations in every way. Her communication skills are outstanding, and she went above and beyond every request. The updates on my cats, accompanied by pictures and a heartwarming video of one cat purring contentedly in her lap, left me feeling grateful. I couldn't have entrusted my beloved pets to a more exceptional caregiver. Ana has earned a permanent place in our lives as our go-to pet sitter, and I'm honored to know such a compassionate and remarkable individual. Her kindness, dedication, and love for animals make her truly special. I'm privileged to have her care for my cherished fur-babies and to know such a remarkable woman. Thank you, Ana.

Jazmin was so amazing!!! Truly incredible person with so much care for my sweet girl! Took her time coming to meet her beforehand and even fed a churu. I felt immediately comfortable with leaving the keys with her knowing she would be taking great care of her! No hesitation to book you again Jazmin and recommend you to everyone. Thank you!!

Christina did drop in visits for our cat while where we’re gone on vacation. She was very kind and enthusiastic with her daily updates and pictures. She even brought in our trash cans and packages that were delivered while we were gone. She reached out with questions (we encouraged this) and when we got home our cat was happy to see us and our home was exactly like it was when we left. Our old cat sitter (that our cat loved) moved away, so we have been trying to find someone new that she likes for when we travel. We would love to book Christine for our next trip and we highly recommend her to others.

Taylor was amazing with our kitties! She was punctual and professional and it was very clear that the cats really trusted her. One of them is quite shy, but the photos showed that she came out for Taylor to get affection and food. She played with and pet the more social of the two so he didn't get too lonely while we were away. She even washed the food dishes after use! Can't recommend her enough if you need someone to look after your cats!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Florin. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
