“Noel checked on our Maltipoo puppy Cinnamon while we were at work, ensuring she had all her essentials, a potty break, and fun play time. We loved receiving her detailed visit reports with cute photos of Cinnamon, plus specifics on whether she peed, pooped, drank water, and more. Cinnamon bonded with her instantly and it helps that Noel is getting dog trainer training. Cinnamon can be a bit fearful of strangers so Noel’s experience was helpful.”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of Sparrow, Haze, and Champagne. I was able to enjoy my vacation with peace of mind. All instructions were followed, and you my cats were in good hands. I would recommend.”

About: I have been caring for both cats and dogs for 10 years! I grew up with a pitbull, mini poodle, and recently adopted a jack russell, so I am well rounded when it comes to different sizes and temperaments of dogs. I also volunteer at a vivarium and have 4 years of experience when it comes to fish and reptile care if that is something you are interested in! I am very comfortable when it comes to caring for young and senior pets! I currently am a full time student at Sac State, but I have a lot of online course work. This allows me to have plenty of time I can spend with pets. At the latest, I get back from classes at 5-6pm, but many days I am able to arrange my schedule as to where I am only on campus until 1pm or even no classes at all! I also have full weekend availability I am very patient and calm, I have worked with pets who are more wary of strangers in the past, but I make sure they have the opportunity to come to me as they get to know me. I follow instructions very well and however the pet parent tells me to approach their baby is how I do it!
“Patrick took good care of our pets. He was on time and took pics. Going to book our next trip with him in a couple of weeks. We felt real comfortable leaving him in our house with our furbabies.”

About: I have always had a kinship with animals. They do communicate and I listen. I had my first cat at age 5. From there, it was cats, dogs, birds and even a horse for me. As an adult, I have also had a rabbit. I work remotely full time. I prefer to also house sit and have a place to work. For dogs, I do a short walk in the morning and long one after work. On breaks , I check in with the needs of the animal. I make sure the needs of the animal is met. Not just food and water but attention. Do they need love or play time? I will be sure to know the current routine so we folllow it for stability.

“Firstly, Pedro was very quick with his response and confirmation of availability. I had to leave Sacramento due to a family issue and he confirmed the appointment even though I requested it at the last minute. He followed all the instructions I left written on my door. My dog eats a natural diet along with kibble, and he prepared everything as I asked. He took her to potty in the correct area and left everything clean.”

“Ashley is a dedicated and caring pet sitter! My cat loved her and got some excellent quality time and enrichment from her visits. Ashley showed up and sent updates and photos every day. She is also diligent about asking questions to ensure the best care for your pets. Highly recommended.”

About: I have years of experience volunteering with all types of dogs and cats. I started volunteering at a pit bull rescue center when I was 10. I have also volunteered at the Elk Grove animal shelter with cats, dogs, and bunnies. I have always loved animals and love caring for friends and family’s pets whenever they need me. I have a lot of availability on weekends. I am a full time student at the university of Oregon and also dedicate time to a couple nonprofit organizations. So during the week I am mostly free during evening/night. I am open to caring for animals in any way I can. Whether that be feeding, brushing, play time, enrichment, walks, etc. I will care for your pets as you care for them and ensure that they get as much love and care as possible.

About: My pet care experience began when I started living with my uncle as a teenager. Back in the Philippines, he would rescue puppies and keep them in the house until he could find them a foster home. After school, I would go straight home and take care of the rescues. I would feed them and keep them hydrated, and then take them out for a walk. I also taught them tricks until they could master it without treats. I strongly believed that training is an essential part of their growth. When I moved here, I adopted Astrid as a puppy and she has been with me for 3 years now. My main skills with pets includes strict attention to time management, understanding their behaviors, and attending to their needs. Other skills include having patience, clear communication with owners, being on time, and being responsible with the duties given. I currently work part-time as a cook in a nursing home. On my days off, I usually stay at home either on my computer or take my dog to play outside. I have a lot of leisure time on these days, and I believe that pet sitting will fulfill these times and keep me busy. In my home, I ensure that my dog sleeps and naps comfortably when tired. I make sure that there’s food for her and water always refilled. I keep my dog active by walking around the neighborhood and going to the playground. I also play the guitar and sing songs to her when there is nothing else to do. When she wants to go outside, I let her run free in the backyard surrounded with fences and have a shaded area for her when it gets too hot. I would also leave the door open in case she wants a colder environment which is inside the house. In a client’s home, I would ensure that their pets are well fed and hydrated. If there is an accident, I would willingly be responsible for that and take care of it. I would make sure that their pets are also being engaged in activities so that they would feel less bored when the parents aren’t home.

“We are beyond grateful for the incredible care Ana gave our dog over the weekend. Right before we left, our dog injured her leg, and we were so worried—but Ana went above and beyond to ease our concerns and make sure our pup was safe and comfortable. She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, and even took the initiative to call the vet to see if she could get our dog in just in case. That level of care and responsibility gave us such peace of mind while we were away. It’s hard to put into words how much we appreciate her kindness, communication, and dedication. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for someone who treats your pet like their own. Thank you so much, Ana!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Amy was great! We felt so reassured that our kitty was getting the attention she needed while we were gone. I appreciated the daily photo updates and could tell she took great care of our girl.”

“Amanda helped me out when I last minute needed someone to take my puppy out for a pee break during the work day (I was working two hours away that day). She was very good with my puppy who is currently a land shark and can be difficult to manage at times. My puppy had a great time playing with her and was in a good mood when I got home later that day”

Bettina has been our go-to sitter and for a reason! She continues to provide exceptional care and kindness to our pets, including our new fur baby in the family. She has provided care before to my two dogs, Mocha and Bobee, and knows their routine and personalities well. We recently adopted a cat and were in good hands with Bettina as she had a pet cat herself. From checking in on time during the drop in visit to providing pictures and a detailed after visit note, we were able to go out and enjoy the night with the peace of mind knowing they were under Bettina’s care.

Another spectacular sit with Cassie! She took great care of my two boys while we were out of town. I came home to two happy and well taken care of cats. I greatly appreciate Cassie's attention to instructions and details. It's such a great feeling having someone you can trust while away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
