“Brian is wonderful. My dogs love him. He gave them walks and sweet attention including wiping their little paws after walks. He was communicative throughout. I appreciate his care for my girls greatly.”

“Justin cared for my tortoise, cat and plants. He executed everything perfectly, was flexible, asked thoughtful questions and communicated effectively. Will book again!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about the care our dogs received while we were away! From the very start, it was clear that Alayna truly loves animals and understands how to connect with them on an individual level. One of our dogs—a senior corgi-beagle mix—is very slow to warm up to new people and requires a lot of patience, gentleness, and understanding. Alayna gave him just that, never rushing him and always respecting his boundaries, which earned her trust in a way that truly warmed my heart. Throughout our trip, we received thoughtful updates and photos that clearly showed how comfortable and well-cared-for all our fur babies were. It brought such peace of mind knowing they were not only being looked after, but loved. Alayna went above and beyond with the little things—sticking to their routines, paying attention to their moods, and even picking up on quirks that only someone who truly cares would notice. We came home to happy, relaxed pups—and that says everything. I’m so grateful to have found someone who cares for our dogs as if they were her own. We’ll absolutely be booking with Alayna again. If you’re looking for someone who brings empathy, attentiveness, and genuine love to pet care, look no further.”

“Natalie was kind, compassionate, and reliable as a pet sitter. She cared for our senior cat for 12 days and took great care of him. We got updates at every visit and she took care of special requests. It was easy to communicate with Natalie, and we would trust her to care for our family pets again in the future! Thank you so much Natalie. ♥️”

“Another great sitting experience with Hans! He is so kind, thorough and consistent! He takes great care of our pack and I appreciate his kindness and professionalism so much. Thanks for taking such good care of our fur family in our absence, Hans. We appreciate you so much!”

“Tatiyana was fabulous. We were worried that our Desmond was going to give her a hard time but it turned out that he ended up loving his walk with Tatiyana. Definitely will hire her again!”

“Jenna took excellent care of my chinchillas while I was out of town, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I highly recommend Jenna to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and attentive pet sitter—especially if you have small or exotic pets. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Dustin is the best! He is so friendly, kind of like family so you feel comfortable leaving your family pet and can relax on vacation. He watched our cat for us and even sent pictures daily. Will definitely use him for our next get away.”

“I’ve had Alma scheduled for drop ins for the past few months on the days I work. She is really good and patient with my teenage dog. She even helps with his training. She’s very communicative, replies fast and leaves a detailed note with good pictures. Very flexible with her schedule especially in hotter days. Never missed a visit. Able to do any of my requests. She has been very consistent with me.”

About: I grew up with large dogs, rodents, and have owned many scaly friends. I befriend every stray cat I meet and I stop to help whenever I see a dog that's escaped their home and its safe to do so. I also used to ride horses when I lived in the country. Currently I take care of my thumbnail dart frogs and wish for more animal friends. I am currently unemployed but work on developing my own video game at home. When I am employed my jobs are exclusively remote. I like to go on an evening walk and sometimes I will be out of the house for a few hours at a time. Occasionally I might be out for the night but its generally about once a week or less. My home has a fenced yard, an atrium, 3 bedrooms and 2 living spaces. I also have an alarm system that is armed at night. I am happy to let dogs out in the yard and take them on walks. At my clients home I am happy to sit with your pets to keep them company and read a comic book, draw on my tablet, or play a game on my Switch.
“Jazmin was amazing checking in on Lucy! Followed all care instructions I had left for her. She was very communicative and sent me so many update pictures/videos of Lucy. Definitely recommend booking with her as a dog sitter!”

“Shannon is amazing! Our two cats barely come out to say hi to anyone who visits and she sent several photos of them coming out to say hi and playing with them. Shannon is super friendly, professional and trust worthy. We hope to get to work with her again soon!”

“Christina is fantastic! She is a wonderful communicator and she always goes above and beyond (even goes as far as sweeping the space around the litter box and bringing in packages from the front porch :)). She is my go-to for checking on my cats when I'm out of town. I highly recommend her!!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Annie B. did an exceptional job caring for my cats, Emperor and Empress. From the very beginning, she was attentive, reliable, and clearly committed to their well-being. What stood out the most was her flexibility and professionalism—she adjusted her schedule to accommodate additional days without hesitation and honored every commitment she made. That level of dependability is rare and truly appreciated. It gave me peace of mind knowing my cats were in good hands, and it’s clear she treated them with care and respect. I highly recommend Annie to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and dedicated. She absolutely deserves five stars.

Ashley is a dedicated and caring pet sitter! My cat loved her and got some excellent quality time and enrichment from her visits. Ashley showed up and sent updates and photos every day. She is also diligent about asking questions to ensure the best care for your pets. Highly recommended.

It was great to have Laura drop-in to check on my cats while we were away for the weekend. She's very easy to communicate with and I feel very safe having her care for them. We have booked with her before and the cats are very comfortable with her. I highly recommend her to others.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Freeport. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
