About: I had a dog for 15 years who I took for walks, well-trained, and cared for. Our home has a large backyard with a maintained lawn where your pet can play and enjoy some quiet time. We live near a park which is walking distance where your pet can meet and play with other dogs. We do not have cats. I am a retired schoolteacher, occasionally do volunteer work in the Sacramento community, enjoy traveling, and stay active. I can spend one on one time with your pet. Our home is single story with a large fenced backyard and a raised bed where we grow our own vegetables. A public park is walking distance from our home where your pet can play and meet other dogs. We don't have cats and our neighborhood is relatively quiet. We also have a radio flyer wagon which can be used for older dogs.

“Roxy's first daycare with Amanda went extremely well. Amanda was very aware of Roxy's quirks and managed her without any problems during her stay. We will definitely use Amanda's daycare again and highly recommend her to others!”

“My dog had such a great time with Debra! I can tell my girl was very calm and happy when I picked her up. Debra even waited outside in the rain to make sure I could find her house when I dropped her off. It was good to know I had someone experienced to watch my dog.”

“Domynique was amazing with my puppy Ollie. She sent updates and would provide walks along with just great quality time. She was super accommodating to my commute that she volunteered to meet me half way. Ollie always came home ready for a nap after a great day with Domynique, will definitely be booking again and would recommend 🥰”

I’m Lauren :) ʚ₍ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ₎ɞ a at-home veterinary student with a spacious, non-smoking home and a great backyard. Since I study from home, pets get lots of attention and care throughout the day. I have past experience caring for a Yorkie, two shorthair cats, birds, bunnies, and fish, plus 100+ volunteer hours at my local animal shelter. I know it can be hard to trust someone with your pet, so I always do my best to make both pets and owners feel safe, comfortable, and confident. - Animal Experience: 🐾🐕🐈 I’ve personally cared for a Yorkie and two shorthair cats in the past, and I also have experience looking after birds, bunnies, and fish. This has helped me become comfortable with different temperaments, routines, and care needs across a variety of animals. - Volunteering Experience: (•˕ •マ╮ᕤ Along with my personal experience, I have over 100 volunteer hours at my local animal shelter. Working with shelter animals has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to make pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for, even in new environments. - I want every owner to feel reassured knowing their pet will be in kind, attentive, and capable hands with me. I will care for your animal as if they were my own and make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and loved while they’re away from you. “June is the best! Bella spent the day with June and her dog Ceaser. Bella is a special needs dog and June knew just how to work with her to make her feel comfortable. June made sure to keep me posted and updated on Bella throughout her stay. She sent lots of pictures so I could see how she was doing. Her dog Ceaser was great with Bella too. Bella has become very attached to June. She also loves Ceaser, her new gentle giant friend. I strongly recommend June if you’re looking for a very responsible caring sitter for your pup. I know Bella is in good hands with June, and will be using her as our sitter in the future.”

“Hong truly goes above and beyond - she sent thoughtful updates with photos, took my dog on regular walks, and made me feel at ease while we were away. The best part was knowing he was treated like family. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.”

“Florene took amazing care of my Max. She is really awesome because she is very communicative, send me plenty of photos to help ease my stress of being away from my fur baby, clean environment, extremely friendly and highly organized, she loves to train too! I already sent another request for Max tomorrow. I highly recommend her, I can tell that she is genuine and truly loves working with pets.”

“Kelli is so sweet and was so caring not only to my puppy, but to me and my partner as well. My puppy can be kind of annoying and dramatic (like all puppies can be) and she was so patient. She kept us updated with pictures throughout the long day. I usually work remotely, but I find so much comfort knowing that Kelli is nearby if I am away from the house for longer than 4 hours. Would highly recommend.”

“Kenia was excellent at taking care of my girl. She helped her settle in quickly and kept her occupied for the day sit. Kenia even gave us a little souvenir polaroid of her stay. It was a sweet touch.”

“First time Rover user, and we couldn't more impressed with Annie. Starting with the "meet and greet", Annie welcomed our big baby despite his huge size (100lbs). He has an injury that requireds a special touch, and Annie more than delivered. We received pictures and videos throughout the day, and I swear, he almost didn't want to come home! We will certainly let Annie care for our big baby on day and overnight visits in the future! 🥰”

“Reginay has been SOOO unbelievably accommodating with my crazy schedule; she lets me work out unusual drop off/pick up times, lets me schedule last minute whenever I need it (when she’s open), and is just incredibly communicative. My dog, Penny, just loves her. She recognizes Reginay’s place when we pull up and is physically and audibly thrilled to see her every time!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vineyard
If you're looking for great customer service and good animal care experience ... Amanda's your gal. She listened to my needs, over-delivered and was super communicative with me during Crawford's stay at her home. It was my first time with a dog sitter (& I knew I could trust Rover, because I'm a Rover sitter & know they do a background check) ... but I was still nervous. My dog is 5 months young and although well-adjusted & potty trained, is very vulnerable. She was sensitive to this; I left him with her feeling i could trust her 100% ... I received photos and updates the entire time I was away. Highly recommend.

Hong truly goes above and beyond - she sent thoughtful updates with photos, took my dog on regular walks, and made me feel at ease while we were away. The best part was knowing he was treated like family. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.

Kiana was truly a blessing! I originally booked her for doggy daycare, but due to an unexpected busy work schedule, I needed to leave my dog overnight. Without hesitation, Kiana was kind, understanding, and more than willing to accommodate us. She was extremely polite, professional, and made the entire process stress-free. I felt completely comfortable knowing my dog was in such caring hands. It’s not easy trusting someone with your fur baby, but Kiana went above and beyond. If you’re looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and awesome at what she does — Kiana is the one! I will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend! 🐾✨

Marvin and Oahn were truly wonderful dog sitters. Our dog Latte had an amazing time with them and came back happy and relaxed. Their own dog was also very gentle, sweet, and well-behaved, which made us feel even more comfortable. We’re so grateful for the great care they gave Latte, and we would absolutely love to see them again. Thank you so much!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vineyard commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,445 sitters in Vineyard, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
