“Deb and JC are amazing! Pip had a fantastic time during day boarding—he was happy, well cared for, and came home content and tired. They kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and videos, which we really appreciated. Their love for dogs really shows. Highly recommend!”

“Rekha is very caring and made me feel comfortable leaving my puppy in her care. He is usually timid; however, he took an immediate liking to her. She took him for a walk and gave him lots of attention. I will definitely rebook her again!”

About: With over 40 years of experience caring for animals, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am experienced with puppies, senior pets, medications, basic first aid, and I pride myself on being dependable, loving, patient, and attentive. My home offers a fully fenced yard, locked gate, covered patio, and dog door access for a safe and comfortable stay. Whether your pet needs a walk, drop-in visit, daycare, or overnight care, they’ll be loved, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I walk every morning. I work from home during the week, taking breaks throughout the day. Thankfully my schedule is flexible and many times I like to add in an evening walk as well, weather permitting. Whether in my home or yours, I care for every pet as if they were my own. I provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment while carefully following routines, special instructions, and care needs. My goal is for every pet to feel comfortable and secure, and for every owner to have peace of mind knowing their pet is in trusted hands.
“Domynique was amazing with my puppy Ollie. She sent updates and would provide walks along with just great quality time. She was super accommodating to my commute that she volunteered to meet me half way. About: I had a dog for 15 years who I took for walks, well-trained, and cared for. Our home has a large backyard with a maintained lawn where your pet can play and enjoy some quiet time. We live near a park which is walking distance where your pet can meet and play with other dogs. We do not have cats. I am a retired schoolteacher, occasionally do volunteer work in the Sacramento community, enjoy traveling, and stay active. I can spend one on one time with your pet. Our home is single story with a large fenced backyard and a raised bed where we grow our own vegetables. A public park is walking distance from our home where your pet can play and meet other dogs. We don't have cats and our neighborhood is relatively quiet. We also have a radio flyer wagon which can be used for older dogs.
About: Hi! With over 50 years of hands-on pet care experience and more than three decades as a foster—including caring for fragile bottle babies—I bring a lifetime of knowledge, patience, and genuine love for animals. My background has given me the ability to nurture pets of all ages and needs, from newborns to seniors, and to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment. I am homebody and currently watch my 22 month old grandson at my house M-F 8-4. He has been raised around my resident animals and numerous fosters, as well as he has 3 dogs of his own at his house. I have baby/pet gates to allow both to have breaks from the other. I love my time with my visiting animals, whether it’s a day or an extended visit. I have a fence yard with a pool. I always accompany any non resident dogs when they go outback. I have 2 small resident dogs and 2 indoor cats. They are all used to other animals coming into our home.
“Esmeralda was great! Easy to coordinate with and shared pix of Ollie throughout the day. Ollie had a great time and will definitely come back for future visits. Thanks again!”

“Lori is great! Zoey was instantly comfortable on the first meeting. I don't think she missed me at all! Throughout the day I received updated photos of Zoey's day & adventures! I'm definitely a returning customer.”

“If you're looking for great customer service and good animal care experience ... Amanda's your gal. She listened to my needs, over-delivered and was super communicative with me during Crawford's stay at her home. It was my first time with a dog sitter (& I knew I could trust Rover, because I'm a Rover sitter & know they do a background check) ... but I was still nervous. My dog is 5 months young and although well-adjusted & potty trained, is very vulnerable. She was sensitive to this; I left him with her feeling i could trust her 100% ... I received photos and updates the entire time I was away. Highly recommend.”

Ersai was kind and attentive with Alfred. I told her about all of Alfred’s needs and quirks and she was welcoming to all of it! She was very communicative and sent updates throughout his stay. Thank you for watching our fur baby last minute we really appreciate it 🤗 we definitely will contact you in the future if you’re in town!

Jacqueline was so friendly, professional, and responsive. She has so much knowledge and experience with animals that definitely put me at ease. She sent pictures and updates of our pup having fun, and even sent us home with a magnet with Beni’s picture on it. We would recommend anyone needing pet sitting services, we will definitely be using her again!

Thnak you, Jessica & Brandon! They were available on short notice for Cody stay overnight. Overall communication was timely and as other reviews have mentioned, receving pics/videos are always a nice touch. Their Belgian Malinois, Gunner, seems well socialized and Cody seems to have gotten along well with him. No scratches on him or pee/poop stains on his doggie bed so that's always a big plus as well! =) Thanks again for watching him on a holiday weekend!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Elk Grove commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
