“Jenifer Miller is absolutely excellent! She took wonderful care of my dog, Buster, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She is incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely cares about his needs. From the moment she arrived, it was obvious she treats Buster like he’s her own dog. Jenifer is always prompt, reliable, and professional, giving me complete peace of mind while I’m away. Knowing Buster is with someone who truly loves and cares for him means everything to me. I highly recommend Jenifer to anyone looking for someone who will love and care for their dog just as much as they do. Buster and I are so grateful to have found her, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

About: Taking care of animals is passion of mine, so I would love to provide dog walking or drop ins! I started my first dog walking business when I was 10 and currently own 3 cats and 1 dog. I am an online student, so my schedule is very flexible! I accept last minute bookings and am available during the week and on weekends. I provide food and water to my cats and make sure their cat-box is cleaned regularly. My cats are cuddly, so I make sure to spend quality time with them.
“Carrie has been a wonderful and reliable pet sitter for our 2 dogs and 3 cats. Thanks to her, we have been able to travel and meet family without worrying about our fur babies back home!”

“Patrick did a great job taking care of our dog and our cat for drop-in visits while we were away. He was kind and attentive. I would definitely use his services again and recommend him to others.”

About: I have been caring for both cats and dogs for 10 years! I grew up with a pitbull, mini poodle, and recently adopted a jack russell, so I am well rounded when it comes to different sizes and temperaments of dogs. I also volunteer at a vivarium and have 4 years of experience when it comes to fish and reptile care if that is something you are interested in! I am very comfortable when it comes to caring for young and senior pets! I currently am a full time student at Sac State, but I have a lot of online course work. This allows me to have plenty of time I can spend with pets. At the latest, I get back from classes at 5-6pm, but many days I am able to arrange my schedule as to where I am only on campus until 1pm or even no classes at all! I also have full weekend availability I am very patient and calm, I have worked with pets who are more wary of strangers in the past, but I make sure they have the opportunity to come to me as they get to know me. I follow instructions very well and however the pet parent tells me to approach their baby is how I do it!
“Noel checked on our Maltipoo puppy Cinnamon while we were at work, ensuring she had all her essentials, a potty break, and fun play time. We loved receiving her detailed visit reports with cute photos of Cinnamon, plus specifics on whether she peed, pooped, drank water, and more. Cinnamon bonded with her instantly and it helps that Noel is getting dog trainer training. Cinnamon can be a bit fearful of strangers so Noel’s experience was helpful.”
About: I have always had a kinship with animals. They do communicate and I listen. I had my first cat at age 5. From there, it was cats, dogs, birds and even a horse for me. As an adult, I have also had a rabbit. I work remotely full time. I prefer to also house sit and have a place to work. For dogs, I do a short walk in the morning and long one after work. On breaks , I check in with the needs of the animal. I make sure the needs of the animal is met. Not just food and water but attention. Do they need love or play time? I will be sure to know the current routine so we folllow it for stability.
About: I have volunteered at an animal shelter for 6 years, and fell in love with it. I would take dogs on walks and read to them to soothe the stress of a shelter. Our pets need the utmost care, so I would love to take care of your pet! I am currently a full time student. I do take some online classes that allow me for more flexible hours. I am open to other hours and schedules. I will always try my best to serve you and your pet. I treat my dog as if she is my baby. I believe we should care about our pets as much as they care about us. Pets really understand us and even listen to us. Even though they may not speak like us it’s important to also tend to their needs.
“Excellent experience! She took wonderful care of Rubí over the weekend. She was kind, responsible, and kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me great peace of mind. Rubí was happy and well cared for. I highly recommend her, and I would definitely trust her to care for my dog again!”

About: I have been a pet owner since I entered the world. Most of my experience is with dogs, but I do have two cats. As of now, most of my pet-sitting jobs have been for close family friends. I am just starting on my Rover journey. I am a college student who is looking to help pay for my college expenses. I'm only offering Friday-Sunday right now since I will be working during the week and don't have a flexible schedule. On the weekends, your dogs will have my full attention :) I do not provide care in my own home. I will work with you to ensure that your pet feels safe with me while I am in their space.

“Cassie is absolutely amazing! She watched over my Peaches (cat), Stormi (cat), and Diggy (bunny) while we went on a weekend trip. I highly appreciate Cassie’s responsiveness and photos she sent during her visits. All the fur babies were left in great hands. Thank you SO MUCH, Cassie!”

“Tim was awesome! Came over to my house several times to meet my dogs and took time to understand their routine. On his drop in he kept me updated with what was going on and kept me updated with what was happening! Even sent me a few photos! Would totally recommend him and use him again!”

About: Aside from having cared for my toy poodle for 12 years until he passed, I’ve also cared for pets for friends and family either during the day or entire vacation. Followed owners’ instructions and gave needed updates on pets’ wellbeing. I’m currently a full time student at community college Monday through Thursday, so while I am capable of being home in between classes, your pets will be able to have my full attention and care Friday through Sunday nights. I have a two story house with a fenced yard for your pets to play. I will abide by whatever instructions required to care for your babies, crate and frequently give potty breaks and walks. Aside from that, I would love to allow them to wander around and lay on the couch.
“Amy was great! We felt so reassured that our kitty was getting the attention she needed while we were gone. I appreciated the daily photo updates and could tell she took great care of our girl.”

“Jill dropped in to feed and play with my girl for a couple of days. I received lots of pictures of Pepper playing and she seemed healthy and happy when I got home. I will use Jill in the future!”

About: I've been housesitting since 2010, mainly cats and dogs. Multi-pet houses don't bother me and I'm good at keeping with your fur kids' schedules. I have and RVT license that is current and have been an RVT for over 10 years. I took a break from housesitting to work at animal hospitals, including a 24-hour critical care hospital in the ICU. Medications and medical treatments are no problem for me. I have an open schedule and am comfortable with either staying at your home for your pet's comfort, or I can visit everyday to make sure they are cared for. I adjust to their wants and needs and stick to their schedule. I'm low stress and understand that sometimes pets just need to warm up to you. As for my personal pets, there's four cats with totally different personalities that run the house (I just live there).

Bettina has been our go-to sitter and for a reason! She continues to provide exceptional care and kindness to our pets, including our new fur baby in the family. She has provided care before to my two dogs, Mocha and Bobee, and knows their routine and personalities well. We recently adopted a cat and were in good hands with Bettina as she had a pet cat herself. From checking in on time during the drop in visit to providing pictures and a detailed after visit note, we were able to go out and enjoy the night with the peace of mind knowing they were under Bettina’s care.

Kim was really easy to work with and flexible with my various needs. She even offered to go to store to get more food for me when I was running low! I would definitely hire her again without hesitation! My dogs enjoyed her company and she sent lots of updates to make me feel very comfortable.
We’ve only had MacKenzie do two drop‑in visits so far, but she has already earned our trust. She’s been perfectly on time, patient, and incredibly composed while handling our three rambunctious pups — and they are not easy with new people walking into house alone.

Christina did drop in visits for our cat while where we’re gone on vacation. She was very kind and enthusiastic with her daily updates and pictures. She even brought in our trash cans and packages that were delivered while we were gone. She reached out with questions (we encouraged this) and when we got home our cat was happy to see us and our home was exactly like it was when we left. Our old cat sitter (that our cat loved) moved away, so we have been trying to find someone new that she likes for when we travel. We would love to book Christine for our next trip and we highly recommend her to others.

June was absolutley fabulous with our boy Blue. She adapted to his needs by refraining from fetching or swiming because of his recent health issues prior to her visit. In addition, followed his dietary needs as well. He was a happy boy when we returned home. This was our first time using Rover. We were a little nervous but June put us at easy. We are so happy we found her. She definatley knows dogs and was very easy to work with. She communicated well and sent photos of her and Blue throughout her visit . She even brought him a ball that is now his favorite toy. We will definitely use her again and so should you:)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
