About: Although I am new to the professional dog training world, I have many years of some type of dog training experience. I have had great success being a Rover sitter, so I have taken care of all types of pups in all stages of life. This has taught me a great deal and now combined with a professional dog training certification has truly brought me full circle.
About: Undesired behaviors aren't because dogs want to "dominate" or be "top dog" - dominance theory is long outdated, yet many don't know its techniques are ineffective or outright harmful ✨ We want dogs to know what we want and willingly perform those behaviors, while also minimizing undesired ones. All without damaging the important bond between pets and guardians that is often strained from past poor training experiences 🐕🌿✨ Using updated scientifically backed techniques we will create positive systems for behavior goals. Everyone needs a system that works for them - including our dogs! 💖🐕✨
“The session went very well. Cecilia is very knowledgeable on what she is doing. She is a very nice and sincere person. Leo Diamond greed her with licks and jumps. By the end of the session Leo Diamond was a different pup. Now I am looking forward to Leo’s next training.”

About: During the consultation, I’ll observe your dog, discuss your goals, and assess any issues. I’ll then recommend the best training package for your needs, whether it’s basic obedience, leash manners, confidence building, reactivity, anxiety, or other challenges. You’ll leave with a clear plan and timeline for success.
“Aaron was wonderful and full of new information. He explained a lot of new techniques to us and our puppy was very calm and responsive with him. Definitely recommend him”

About: Every trainer has their own style, but what sets me apart is that I’m a Licensed Family Dog Mediator. That means I don’t just focus on obedience—I help families understand why their dog behaves the way it does, based on its genetics, learning history, environment, and individual personality. My goal is to meet both the dog’s and the human’s needs, so they can build a relationship rooted in trust, communication, and teamwork.
“Worked with Anna on puppy training and she was fantastic — super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly someone who deeply loves and cares about animals (and they love her back!) Would highly recommend Anna for any training, daycare, or boarding needs!”

“We met with Judith for a consultation. She was timely, professional and had an excellent dog-side manner with our high energy dog (and the excited owner). Judith arrived ready to work and trained us in technique and situational solutions. We appreciate her expertise, resources, and friendly approach. Looking forward to starting training!”

“Finn is responsible, knowledgable and passionate about the training he does. I appreciate his mix of professional and personal experience in assessing animal behaviors and recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer who truly cares about and loves what they are doing.”

About: During our consultation, we will figure out which positive reinforcement training method will work best for your pup. As we are doing this, I will be outlining a training plan for you & your pup (which you will get a copy of!) After each lesson with your pup, (if available) I ask all pet parents to join me for a quick briefing to see what their pup has learned. As well as showing them what has been working for them & how to continue after our lesson.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Sacramento.
Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.
When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.
Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.
Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!
Rover makes it easy to find Sacramento dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:
- Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
- Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.
Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.
Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.
Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.
Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.
We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.
Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
