Pet care experience

Love animals & follow instructions!

I started volunteering at the Antioch Animal Shelter in the 4th grade. Since then I have volunteered at numerous shelters and rescues, including the emergency animal shelter in Oroville after the Camp Fire. I'm Disaster Animal Rescue Team (D.A.R.T.) trained, animal CPR and first aid certified, and have years of TNR experience. I have had many exotics as pets, including a reef tank at one time. I have no issue feeding crickets and worms, but I can't feed snakes rodents. I'm a lifelong vegetarian, so that would traumatize me. Lol. I also love rodents, and currently have 2 rescue guinea pigs. Animal care and nutrition are a passion of mine. I'm also an expert teeth brusher! I brush my cats and dogs teeth every night and some of my pet sits as well. I'm very experienced giving medication, even pills to cats and my recently adopted cat Ricky is diabetic. Two of my regular cats I sit take meds, and one gets insulin injections, so I'm very comfortable with both and also know how to check blood glucose. Animals are allowed on the furniture in my home, even the bed. A couple of dogs I regularly sit sleep in the bed with me and my dogs. I treat other people's furbabies the way I would want my furbabies treated. I'm a helicopter pet parent so I totally understand how hard it is to trust someone with the ones you love. If I ever thought something was wrong with your pet I would notify you asap, and I have no issue taking an animal to the vet. I have a rescue dog who has occasional seizures and a rescue kitty with kidney disease that I give sub-q fluids to every day, so I am very comfortable with special needs animals. I'm pretty OCD when it comes to pet care. I actually have a pet thermometer and carry a microchip reader in my truck with an extra leash. You'd be surprised how many times I've used that chip reader! Being a helicopter pet parent I NEVER EVER leave an animal outside alone, not even in my fenced in yard. I don't take chances. I'm also obsessively clean, so your litter box will not be a hot mess when you return, and if your dog uses a potty pad no problem. I also have waterproof vinyl plank flooring so accidents and kitty puke is easy to clean up. :-D. When I board animals it is very much mi casa esu casa! I'm also more than happy to water plants when I do drop-ins as well, since I have them myself and am also a gardener. :-)

Thank you for taking great care of our four legged kids and plants. Really appreciate you dealing with the light issue in George’s cage. This was a long trip and everything was well taken care off!!! Thank you!

Danielle was absolutely amazing! My baby was very well taken care of. She even went above and beyond and clipped her toenails for me. You won’t find a better pet sitter in the area that truly loves and cares for animals. Will definitely have her pet sit for me in the future. Thank you Danielle!!

Danielle was a fantastic host. She is a good communicator, very accommodating and overall just a delightful person. Cersei felt 100% comfortable staying with Danielle and had fun playing with her own pups as well.

Doggy Day Care • Jun 03, 2026

Heath Bar didn’t make it easy - he barked the entire time at Danielle’s unless she was there with him, I k ew he had separation anxiety but the only time it presented for the last several years was while he was alone in the car. His being alone in the house was not a problem for him. My take away is to be certain someone will be at home with him for most of the time he will be in someone else’s care. Danielle was very responsive and kept me informed the day Heath was in her care.

I work from home 3 days a week and the other 2 days I come home for lunch since the office is only 2.5 miles from my house. I'm home most weekends as well.

Non-smoking household
Has caged pets
Has 4 dogs, 3 cats

Safety, trust & environment

I follow the care instructions to the letter. If your pup requires a crate it must be brought with them, since mine are not crated. I am comfortable giving medication and supplements, measuring food, following a raw food diet, feeding exotics, etc. I'm also comfortable grooming for an extra fee, but will never ignore a mat in their fur or charge extra for daily grooming like toothbrushing.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day for your dog would depend on the feeding schedule you have them on. Most of the dogs I pet sit eat breakfast and dinner. In between time would be cuddles, playing with my dogs, potty time, toys, treats, and whatever exercise is part of their normal routine. One of the lil' guys I sit plays fetch every night before bed. I've had other pups require long walks during the day. Every animal is different and has different needs. A senior pup that was at my home recently just wanted to follow me from room to room all day. Poor girl was too old to jump on the loveseat so she just laid by my feet. ❤️

0 to 15 lbs
Unspayed females accepted, neutered males only
No females in heat
Danielle can host up to 3 pets per night
I'm very comfortable giving meds and supplements. If you have a lizard that gets a weekly electrolyte bath or have a senior cat that does not groom themselves I can do it. Just let me know what their needs are. :-) Also, please let me know about any specific behaviors they might have, including food aggression. I know of one particular kitty who gets mad when mama goes on vacation and likes to poop in the kitchen. Lol. Nothing you tell me will surprise me, I promise! Lol
