“First time using Rover and I’m glad I was linked up with Sherry. She is very quick to response to questions and concerns. My puppy’s stay was very pleasant and I received daily pictures from her. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Highly recommended!!!!!”

“Autumn was incredible with Jack and Daisy! From the moment we met her, I could tell they were in great hands. She clearly knows her stuff when it comes to dogs, and her experience really shows. Her setup is super clean and safe, and I loved that the kennel is attached to her home — it felt like Jack and Daisy were part of the family the whole time.”

“Meagan was awesome! Especially with a last minute booking, she was available for meet and greet prior and asked and answered any questions with ease. Throughout the stay her communications were excellent and she sent great pictures. We didn’t worry on our trip because we knew Lyra was in great hands! We knew Lyra was treated as family while in her stay! Would 100 percent book her again!”

About: I treat every pet like a member of my own family. Whether I'm caring for dogs, cats, or other small pets, my priority is providing a safe, loving, and stress-free environment while you're away. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, including energetic puppies and kittens, adult pets, and seniors who require extra patience and attention. I'm comfortable following feeding schedules, administering oral medications, maintaining exercise routines, cleaning litter boxes and enclosures, and providing companionship tailored to each pet's personality. I understand that every pet has unique needs, so I take the time to learn their routine and preferences. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet cuddles, or simply keeping their normal schedule, I'll make sure they receive personalized care, plenty of affection, and close attention to their well-being. You'll also receive regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and in caring hands. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine, and I'm available every day of the week. The only exception is Sabbath mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., (no drop at this time) when I have a prior commitment. Outside of those hours, I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable pet care, including walks, drop-in visits, daycare, boarding, and overnight care. I always make time to give each pet the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. In my home, I provide a clean, secure, and pet-friendly environment where pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection. I carefully follow each owner's instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special needs to help pets feel comfortable and maintain their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the home and the pet's established routine. I make sure pets have fresh food and water, regular potty breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise, companionship, and plenty of love. I pay close attention to their behavior and well-being and will immediately communicate with the owner if I notice anything unusual. I believe trust is built through reliable care and clear communication, so I provide regular updates and photos to give owners peace of mind while they're away.
“Michelle was very sweet to my pups and extremely accommodating to my ever changing schedule! She took the time to ensure my Border Collie got exercise and that my senior Shitzu got plenty of comfy naps! She was also really great about sending pictures and updates. I’d absolutely recommend her!”
“I contacted Daisy LATE for the possible care of my Dog as a previous Sitter was not a good fit...we had a Meet/Greet on same day I contacted her which went well!! and she agreed to watch him for the weekend! She sent pictures plus she has an older dog who is chill like mine and they got along fine!! Her and her husband, Walter really cool people who care about and for your pet. very clean house, plenty of fenced in yard for my dog to 'explore'. I highly recommend Daisy, husband Walter and their 'boy' Teddy!!!!”

“Nicholas was an absolute blessing! He accepted watching Buffy on very short notice and went above and beyond from start to finish. He made sure Buffy was well cared for by taking her on walks, giving her plenty of attention, and keeping us updated with constant texts, photos, and videos. He even put an AirTag on Buffy while we were away, which gave us even more peace of mind. This was our first time using the app, and Nicholas exceeded every expectation. We never had to worry about Buffy for a second because we knew she was in great hands. Thank you for everything, Nicholas! If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. We will definitely book with you again!”

“Angela is the absolute best. She provided the best care and treated my dog like a king. My high energy dog came back so well behaved and incredibly well groomed, she treated him to spa days, made him amazing homemade health treats, stuck to his routine and provided me so many updates and pictures I was never left questioning his wellbeing. I almost don’t want to leave this review so I don’t have to fight for her care in the future. But she is honestly the best care giver. I don’t want anyone else watching my dog but angela at this point. 100/10. Thank you angela ❤️❤️”

Blaine was very responsive when I scheduled. We met and he was very personable and easy with the dog. we took him to his home as we felt comfortable with him. His house is quiet and calm which we really appreciated. Blaine was very loving with our dog He sent us one picture when he calmed down. we were not interrupted on vacation, but he did response promptly to my text. I will absolutely allow him to sit for us again. Our dog has definitely decided he likes Blaine and bonded.

Once again I had Madison watch my dog Cooper. She is absolutely fantastic with him and takes great care of him. Not even joking when I went to drop them off he took off down the street and ran right to her door. He was so excited. I know it's hard to find a good dog sitter but Madison is one of the best I have ever had.

I highly recommend this dog sitter! He took excellent care of my dog and treated them like family. I received updates, and it gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, happy, and well cared for while I was away. He was reliable, caring, and professional. I will definitely use his services again and would recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets.

Jaycee was great! As he took great care of my 8 yr. old pup. At the last minute, I needed a sitter and she responded quickly. She was strategic in introducing my pup to hers. She cared for her like her own, provided updates and photos. You can tell she's a true pet lover. I recommend Jaycee for your pup.

Artaizia and her husband took very good care of Deuce. They made sure he was comfortable and treated like their own fur baby. They sent me pictures and videos so that I was updated on his day to day with them. I will definitely use their boarding service again and I recommend them if you want any your fur baby to be cared for and in good hands and while you’re away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
