“Ayana was great with Snoopy! She sent frequent pictures and updates and I could tell that he enjoyed his time at her home. She even went above and beyond and sent Snoop home with a little care package of treats! Would highly recommend.”

“Zeke was well loved and cared for by Melissa and Jeremy. I enjoyed all the updates and cute pictures of their fun times together. Thanks for giving Zeke a wonderful vacation while we took ours!”

“Beverly is such a sweet and gentle dog sitter! She sends updates and is always out and about walking the dog, taking him on errands, and giving snuggles. He always smells better than when I dropped him off haha; that’s a plus! It’s definitely a vacation of love and fun for my fifteen year old chorkie! Will continue to resource her for care.”

“Madison was fantastic! I had a bit of a hectic schedule and she accommodated my changes with no problem at all. Cooper took to her very well, He was his happy chunky self when I picked him up. Within a few hours Cooper was already making himself at home and getting belly rubs. 100% will be booking with Madison again. Thank you!”

“Marian did a wonderful job taking care of cooper. She kept me updated with pictures and everything that was going on with him. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again for care.”

“Gail responded immediately to my initial request and answered my questions. She checked in about a week before to confirm everything was good to go. Our dog quickly got comfortable with Gail and she sent us a few pictures to let us know she was doing well. I love being able to leave my fur-child with people I can trust to take care of her and love her like their own.”

“Lisa was amazing! She took such great care of our dog Abby while we were away. Abby came home happy, well cared for, and even clean, it seemed like Lisa even gave her a bath while she had her! She was incredibly accommodating, especially when our flight was unexpectedly canceled due to weather. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Abby was in good hands. Highly recommend Lisa!”

“Chris and his partner were absolutely awesome! They kept me up to date on what my fur baby was up to while I was out of town and were very pleasant and prompt with communication and the drop-off/pick-up. Chris even carried my crate to the car for me, which I really appreciated. Coco was very cheerful and in a great mood when I picked her up too. I would definitely book them again.”

“Rebecca did an amazing job with my Bones and was extremely accommodating!!! We scheduled to board him with her last minute and she made sure his food and medication were given on time and he had plenty of playtime in a safe, loving home to enjoy while I was away. Will definitely be booking with her again :)”

“Maria & Matthew are the absolute best! We’ve used them twice and each time it gets better! Our dog loves his mini vaca at their house with his doggie friends. Their communication is incredible! Maria and Matthew are our go to sitters!”

About: I’ve had experience caring for breeds of all sizes, from small lap dogs to large, energetic huskies. I understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that means going for walks, playing, or simply providing a safe, comfortable environment where they feel at home. I treat every dog in my care with the same love, attention, and patience. I work from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, which allows me plenty of time each day to focus on pet care. Before work, I make sure pets are fed, and comfortable. Once I’m home, my schedule is dedicated to providing playtime, potty breaks, affection, and personalized attention. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I am committed to ensuring every dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for while staying in my home. I have a fenced in yard, both in the back & front. They will be cared for with attention & affection. I can provide daily picture updates if needed.
“Tina is absolutely wonderful! She took wonderful care of our dog. He has a hard time eating when we leave him with a sitter, and she did everything she could to make sure he stayed happy & fed. She also kept me informed every day and sent pictures of our little guy. I never like leaving him for long but I felt so comfortable knowing he was at Tina’s. Her family is so friendly, & her house is nice and clean. Their yard is also a great place for the dogs to run around. I’m really thankful we found her before a long road trip — it was one less thing I had to worry about! I highly recommend Tina and will be using her again if we need a sitter!”

Once again I had Madison watch my dog Cooper. She is absolutely fantastic with him and takes great care of him. Not even joking when I went to drop them off he took off down the street and ran right to her door. He was so excited. I know it's hard to find a good dog sitter but Madison is one of the best I have ever had.

Wei-Ling boarded was a life-saver as I needed last minute boarding for my cat Hotdog. She boarded Hotdog for two weeks and provided constant updates on his wellbeing through videos and photos. Thank you again for caring for Hotdog for these past two weeks. Would definitely book again!

I highly recommend this dog sitter! He took excellent care of my dog and treated them like family. I received updates, and it gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, happy, and well cared for while I was away. He was reliable, caring, and professional. I will definitely use his services again and would recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets.

Jaycee was great! As he took great care of my 8 yr. old pup. At the last minute, I needed a sitter and she responded quickly. She was strategic in introducing my pup to hers. She cared for her like her own, provided updates and photos. You can tell she's a true pet lover. I recommend Jaycee for your pup.

Artaizia and her husband took very good care of Deuce. They made sure he was comfortable and treated like their own fur baby. They sent me pictures and videos so that I was updated on his day to day with them. I will definitely use their boarding service again and I recommend them if you want any your fur baby to be cared for and in good hands and while you’re away.

Nicholas was an absolute blessing! He accepted watching Buffy on very short notice and went above and beyond from start to finish. He made sure Buffy was well cared for by taking her on walks, giving her plenty of attention, and keeping us updated with constant texts, photos, and videos. He even put an AirTag on Buffy while we were away, which gave us even more peace of mind. This was our first time using the app, and Nicholas exceeded every expectation. We never had to worry about Buffy for a second because we knew she was in great hands. Thank you for everything, Nicholas! If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. We will definitely book with you again!

There are not enough good words to describe this sweet family!! I had a knot in my stomach leaving my baby for 10 whole days, but they made it so much better! Constant updates and pictures, flexibility with drop off and pick up, and we even had a “meet and greet” prior to booking to make sure it was a great fit. I will definitely book with them again!

I contacted Daisy LATE for the possible care of my Dog as a previous Sitter was not a good fit...we had a Meet/Greet on same day I contacted her which went well!! and she agreed to watch him for the weekend! She sent pictures plus she has an older dog who is chill like mine and they got along fine!! Her and her husband, Walter really cool people who care about and for your pet. very clean house, plenty of fenced in yard for my dog to 'explore'. I highly recommend Daisy, husband Walter and their 'boy' Teddy!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
