“I was scrambling to find dog boarding when my friend canceled on me at the last minute. I had no backup plan and actually thought I’d have to send my dog to a kennel for the week. Luckily, as I was looking up kennels, I found information on Rover. So this was my very first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Turns out, there was absolutely no reason for me to be. Rover is very easy to use and I was able to find Julie & Kenneth N’s information. After seeing/reading the positive reviews I made immediate plans to meet them and have them meet my Husky, Max. I was able to book Max to stay with Julie & Ken for the entire week that we were on a family vacation. As promised, I got daily emails (with pictures) of how Max was doing and Julie even let me know how helpful Max was in the kitchen — by being watchful to ensure Julie didn’t drop anything while preparing lunch. I loved all of the text communications I received — Max was smiling in some of the pics. That put me at ease too. I have experience with all sizes of dogs from Papillons to German Shepards. I am accepting of all breeds, sizes and ages. I've had several dogs with allergies and other health issues, so I am experienced in giving medications, applying any topicals, and noticing any developing symptoms. I also have lots of experience with cats and even have one of my own with medical issues, so I would love to do drop ins for your feline friends! I am currently a student at Eastern Virginia Medical School and am in my last year so my schedule can be somewhat variable. However for the next few months I will be available for mid-day walks/cat visits! I have a 7 year old Pit Bull Terrier that absolutely loves all other animals and can adjust his play style according to other dogs sizes. I also have a small fenced in outdoor patio where your dogs can relax outside with some sun in between walks. I live alone so there won't be too much stimulation from others, and there's plenty of space for your pup to take some time to their selves if needed.

My family adopted my first dog named Shiloh when I was 7 and she was a beagle mix. We lost her when she was 15, but she lived a long, happy, and healthy life. I am currently a Physician Assistant Student so I will be in class for a few hours per day, but otherwise I am mostly at home. I have a small chihuahua/Pomeranian mix that is 5 years old. She loves to play with dogs of all sizes (she grew up with labs and Australian shepherds). Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and be potty trained. We typically go out for a walk/potty break every 3-4 hours, but can go out more/less if needed. -raised, trained, and bred Australian shepherds -cared for diabetic dog requiring insulin injections -cared for handicapped pug that has seizures and requires several medications throughout the day -have done house sitting / dog sitting with many different breeds: pit Bull, German shepherd puppy, boxer, vizsla mix, plott hound, husky, beagle, Maltese, and more! Dogs are my life and they bring me so much joy. I don’t know what I would do without my furry best friends <3 In school, but home most of the day. Never gone for more than 4 hours at the most. Home all weekend. Potty breaks/walks every 4 hours at most I live in a safe neighborhood. My apartment is very spacious and safe. My dog has beds all over the house and plenty of toys to share. She sleeps with me in my king sized bed or in her bed.

About: Dogs & cats have been part of my life as long as I can remember! From having multiple dogs since the day I was born, taking care of family, friends & neighbors animals. But in my recent years, I have been a major cat mom! I currently have 2 cats, aged 1.5 & 14! Yes, very opposite age/energy levels! I handle animals, all sizes, gender, attitude & energy levels, extremely well & treat all fur babies as my own! I’m also comfortable with giving animals medication. I’m also big on other house maintenance. As in, taking out the trash, receiving your mail, watering plants & other basic household needs! I first started off using Rover to have other local animal lovers to watch my babies when I needed a hand. I’m excited to join the wonderful community & give you a helping hand! ☺️ I currently do not work & am located Downtown Norfolk. My availability is open as of now, not including holidays & I will do my best to update my calendar daily or weekly. About: I stop and play with every pet that I meet. I love animals and want to continue my journey with pet care. I am open to doing sitting and walking. I am open to walking in the mornings at anytime after 6am. The sittings will have to be scheduled more in advance as I do have a job.
