“MaryAnn did an awesome job watching my dog. She took her in on short notice over the holidays and sent me great pictures every day. She even gave her a small birthday party with extra turkey for dinner! Highly recommend!”

“My loved dogs received excellent care! Lots of pics. Dogs were brushed and clean when I picked them up. Their tiny dog got along great with my bigger dogs! I recommend them and would use again.”

“The plan was to go on vacation outside the country for 3 weeks. But concern about the health and welfare of my dogs left me on the verge of cancelling. They did not deserve to be dumped at the kennels to be left in a cage and friends and family were not available for 3 weeks. RB and Muffins, my two Shih Tzu, are extremely sociable and need interaction with humans. I was very fortunate to have found Rover.com which led me to Michelle. I would cancelled my vacation if I had not. I know I dropped off two happy dogs to her and picked-up two happy and healthy dogs 3 weeks later. Michelle and her Ben took really good care of my two kids. I know they were treated like family. Almost daily I received photos, and just the fact that I could easily communicate with her via e-mails gave me peace of mind. I will not hesitate to contact her for future stays. ”

“Gail was wonderful with Joy. I received pictures of Joy and a text on how Joy was doing. This was my 1st time using Gail and I was very happy with her care for my fur bady. I would recommend Gail service and I definitely will be coming back to her. Thank you so much!!”

“Amber and Dane were great hosts for our pup! He felt very welcomed in their home and had a great time playing with their dogs and kids! We’ll definitely book with them again.”
“Bleu thoroughly enjoyed his stay with Geneive! I enjoyed the updates and knowing that Bleu was left in good hands. Geneive was very responsive when booking and while our pup was with her. We are looking forward to Bleu’s next stay with Geneive! Highly recommended!”

“I had to book last minute, like an hour before we had to leave, and she was accommodating and friendly from the start! Her communication was great before and during my pet's stay, and I can tell she loves what she does! My pet isn't the perfect one to watch and she didn't complain once! This was my first time booking on rover, I'm usually the one doing the boarding on here, and she did everything right and then some. Very thankful and WILL book with Kathleen from now on ?”
“Angelica, was very responsive and professional. Super close in the Norfolk area which was convenient. Ruben got along with the other dogs that she had / in her care and came back happy. She took some really great pictures as updates everyday. The dogs seemed to really enjoy the fenced yard. Would recommend as a great value option for doggy care.”

“Exceptional! Super communicative and clearly took care of Hanzo like he was their own. Incredibly happy with how well they took care of him! Will absolutely book again!”

“David did so great with my Great Pyrenees, Charlie! He was also very patient with me as this was my first time using the app and I accidentally scheduled the wrong day. Upon meeting Charlie was very comfortable with him and he was excited to go hang with David. Thank you SO much for taking care of our huge furry friend. I highly recommend having David watch your dog!”

“Beth was fantastic with our Goldendoodle, Remington! He and her dog Chloe became fast friends, and we loved getting daily photo updates. It was clear he was happy and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter—highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“Rachel is our go to sitter! Our pup loves her and always comes back happy & exhausted (which we totally appreciate). We recommend to her to anyone looking for a reliable and communicative sitter”

“Melanie is amazing! We had an impromptu trip to the beach and it was too hot for the doggo. She was super responsive and has the perfect place for dogs to go! Will use her again if I’m heading to the beach!”

“Lilly is truly a caring and compassionate pet sitter who treats animals like members of her own family. Every time Wheeler stays with her, I know he’s in loving hands. Her kids also spend time with the pets, adding to the warm, family-like environment. She frequently sends beautiful photos and keeps me updated on Wheeler’s activities and playtime, which gives me so much peace of mind. Her spacious backyard is perfect for dogs to run and play, and if the weather allows, she even takes them on walks or to the nearby park. She’s incredibly receptive to each pet’s individual needs and always goes the extra mile to help them feel at home. Wheeler absolutely loves staying with Lilly—he gets excited as soon as we pull up to her house, and sometimes doesn’t want to leave because he’s having such a great time! I now try to book monthly stays with her, simply because Wheeler enjoys it so much. I couldn’t ask for a better person to care for him. A true Gryffindor, Lilly responds to every challenge with courage and resolve. She would simply never abandon a quest or choose some other life without caring for pets!”

“Beverly was great with my baby while I was away for a week. Received many pictures and videos everyday and bathed her so she could come home clean 😁!”

“Wonderful care of our loved one Jodi. They provided excellent updates, photos and pictures. Responses were quick and accommodating to our nedd”

“This was our first time boarding our dog with a stranger. Kudos to the Rover app to help me choose the perfect sitter for our golden doodle. We had a meet and greet with Stacey and her dogs the week before we were leaving. Stacey made me feel very comfortable with the surroundings and her schedule for the dogs. She sent pictures and videos every day, which really helped me. Lol. We had a change in our schedule on the way home and Stacey was very flexible with our return time. Our pup had a great time playing with the other dogs and he was happy and very tired when he got home! I think he misses his friends. 😃”

“Great Communication! Got pictures everyday of my two babies. They really warmed up to her and that is a big deal because they are not used to new people. Will rebook for sure.”

“Julie was a great pet friend to Cle while we were away. She left cute pics and updates and always let us know when she was going to arrive. Cle was so happy when she came to play and give lots of belly rubs!”

About: I’ve lived with cats all my life. I have owned and loved some high-needs cats, which has lent me a lot of experience in different kinds of cat care. I have administered oral and topical medication as well as insulin shots for many years. I’ve also taken care of cats with mobility issues as well as general arthritis and pain concerns. I’m comfortable cleaning litter boxes, brushing, and any playtime activities (of course!). I can’t wait to meet your sweet kitties!

About: I've been a cat owner for over 12 years, and caring for my own cat, Meeko, has taught me that every cat has a unique personality and routine. Whether your cat is playful & social or prefers quiet companionship, I always take the time to earn their trust and care for them at their own pace. In addition to caring for my own cat, I've provided drop-in care for friends' cats over the years. I know how important it is to keep their routine consistent by providing fresh food & water, scooping the litter box, spending quality time with them, and sending thoughtful updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I work remotely full-time, which allows me to offer dependable daytime scheduling and prompt communication. My goal is to provide calm, reliable care so your cat feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for until you're home again.

About: I love dogs of all sizes and ages! My family recently lost our pitbull, Emma, who was 7 years old, so my mom has temporarily kidnapped my Chihuahua so the house doesn't feel so lonely. Now my house feels a little too quiet without her around. I am loving, caring, trustworthy, and responsible! Your pet is free to roam around the house with me, and I'll make sure they feel comfortable and at home. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, to dog parks, on car rides, to the beach, and anywhere they can have fun and enjoy themselves (with your permission, of course). I like to keep dog parents updated with pictures & texts throughout their pet's stay. I understand that every dog has their own personality and unique needs, and I am committed to giving them the very best care while providing you with peace of mind. I will make sure your pet feels welcomed, loved, and right at home here! I work from home, so I'll be with your doggie for most of the day. The only time they'll be home alone is when I run errands. I care for pets in a safe, loving home with a fenced yard where they can play and get fresh air. They are treated like my own. I follow their normal routines, including feeding, walks, and playtime. I also send regular updates with photos and messages.
About: I've been caring for dogs for several years through both personal and professional experience. I worked at a dog kennel for two years, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. During that time, I handled daily feeding, exercise, cleaning, and administered oral medications, including pill medications, while making sure each dog received the individualized care they needed. In addition to my professional experience, I've raised my own puppy and currently have two dogs, so I understand the patience, consistency, and attention that pets need to feel comfortable and safe. I've also provided pet sitting for friends and family, treating every pet as if they were my own. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter routine, I'm committed to providing reliable, compassionate care and keeping you updated so you can have peace of mind while you're away. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. I work from home during the week, so I'm home most of the day and have the flexibility to provide consistent care, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I also care for my own two dogs every day, making sure they get the exercise, enrichment, and love they need. In my home, pets have access to a securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time and plenty of space to play. We also use baby gates to help separate spaces when needed, making it easier to keep pets comfortable and safely introduce them to new environments. Since we're currently raising a young dog ourselves, our home is already puppy-proofed, we don't leave out items that could be a hazard, and we're mindful about keeping the environment clean and safe for curious pets. I treat every pet like one of my own and make sure they receive lots of attention, exercise, affection, and regular updates for their owners.

I'm comfortable following detailed feeding schedules, administering oral medications, and caring for puppies, senior pets, and pets with unique routines. As a scientist, I'm naturally detail-oriented and observant, so I pay close attention to changes in behavior and always follow care instructions carefully. “MaryAnn did a great job with our German Shepherd, Nash! He's a little shy at first in new situations, but he warmed up quickly, and I could tell that he really enjoyed staying with her. She did a wonderful job making sure that he was comfortable and cared for. He really took a liking to her and turned into a Velcro dog with her! She gave very informative updates and sent photos throughout the day. She's also very careful about introductions and making sure that all the dogs get along. I definitely trust her and will be a repeat client!”

“I recently moved here and was anxious about finding a sitter for Taco. I'm so glad I can trust Julie and Kenneth to take care of Taco while I'm away at work. They make sure he's happy and I also get a very detailed summary about how his day went. I highly recommend them and will be using them regularly.”

About: What sets me apart is that caring for animals has been a lifelong part of my life. I’ve grown up around dogs and other animals of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. My mom has owned and operated a professional dog grooming and boarding business since 2017, so I’ve had years of hands-on experience caring for pets in a boarding environment. I’m comfortable with puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I treat every pet like family and focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. Being a stay-at-home mom to my toddler gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care. I’m home most of the day, so pets get regular potty breaks, attention, playtime, and plenty of love rather than being left alone for long periods. I’m also able to work pet care naturally into our daily routine. For boarding in my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment with regular potty breaks, playtime, attention, and plenty of cuddles. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions. For drop-ins or sitting in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their pet comfortable in their familiar environment while following their usual routine. I’m happy to provide walks, meals, potty breaks, playtime, cleanup, and lots of attention. My goal is always for pets to feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their family is away.
“Michelle was great. She was ready for Daly to be dropped off. She kept me informed all day, with messages and photos. So I was totally at ease during the day. And she was ready to hand Daly back to me, with a summary of activities. I recommend her highly, and will gladly use her services again. Thanks, Michelle!”

“Megan and her family were great. They made sure my dog stayed busy and had lots of attention. She also had fun playing with Megan’s dogs. I will definitely use Megan again in the future.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I will make sure your beloved friend is happy. Not just fed or exercised, but emotionally comforted and cared for. I do this for fun, I love to go to animal shelters and cat cafes on my free time. And I'm sure I'll love to spend time with your best friend too. My experience in taking care of animals comes from my whole life. However, more specifically I have been the primary caretaker of my dog Sparky for years. Walking him, bathing him, feeding him, playing with him, and not as a chore, but because I had so much fun doing so. Other than that, I will list my other experience for anyone who wishes to read more: For the first 9 years of my life, I was in a household with 3 cats. I a pug named Emma for the first 4-ish years of my life, getting pug stuffed animals to name after her for years after. When I was 8 I got Sparky, and he was so awesome, so energetic (he still is) so adorable, so everything. My 3 cats, Kita, Salem, and Maggie, each of their passings were all hard on me, and sparky's never ending hyperness and lovingness was so important in helping me move forward. We later got a 2nd dog named Gus who stops in his tracks whenever my mom or my sister walk him, but for me he's willing to walk more. I'm not sure why but I'm glad since I love to walk, it's so calming, especially with dogs. I'm available full time on the days listed. I am a student and have an internship on the other days but for those days I'm free. If it changes you will see the listed schedule change. I take care of them by not just doing the bare minimum, but going the extra mile. Cleaning up their bowls before giving new food and water. Taking them on long walks but planning the route to align with water fountains to make sure they are hydated and don't overheat. Doing occasional jogs on their runs, playing with them in new and unique ways as much as possible, and so much more.
About: I grew up with two dogs, one very shy and one very happy but scared of other dogs. Both sadly passed due to illnesses; therefore, I have experience in caring for sick pets. I have dog walked in the past with a variety of dog sizes and breeds. I am a resident in counseling which is my primary job. Pet care will fit in around clients, however I control my own schedule giving me free time to help out fellow pet parents. Even if my calendar is blocked out for a particular day, feel free to message me and I'll see what I can do. I have experience with an anxious dog and currently an anxious cat so I am able to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere. I like to allow the pet to get comfortable with me in their own way and time and only greet them in small bits (i.e., letting them sniff my hand a few times before petting). I am organized to ensure pets have what they need before I leave (whether my own cat or for client's pets).
“Martha is amazing!! She has always been so consistent, great at communication, and flexible with last minute changes. I trust her completely with my reactive dog and would recommend her to anyone! She also takes such cute pics of my pup and lots of them.”

“I was extremely nervous about using rover my Koda is 70Ibs and absolutely insane in the best possible way. Tyler reassured and explained to me how everything was going to work. When tyler came to the door Koda was in protective mode, thankfully tyler didn’t get scared off instead he suggested a new approach to them meeting and once Koda sniffed him he immediately let tyler take the leash! He was amazing and I will definitely be scheduling with him again!”

About: 👋Hi everybody! My name is Madison and I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! I am a current Masters student at EVMS studying surgical assisting. I am unable to work full time due to the rigor of the program so I love watching pets as a part time job. 🏡 I currently live in an apartment in downtown Norfolk with my boyfriend of 8 years, Grant. Grant helps out with potty breaks and walks if I am ever not home. We are both students and have internships so if your pet needs someone with them at all times, we unfortunately can only provide this on the weekends. 🐶I have experience with senior & adult dogs, cats, administering medications & puppies! I also volunteer at the Norfolk Animal Care Center in my free time to help out the shelter animals and be involved in my local community. I love to send photo updates to the owner so that you can be assured that your pet is in safe hands. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! My class schedule is very flexible so I am able to offer frequent potty breaks and walks as needed! This allows me to follow the routine that your pet is already accustomed to I grew up with dogs in my parents home my whole life. My own dogs are spoiled and loved so much, so I will be sure to treat your animals the same way. My dogs love walks, playing outside, snuggles, and treats. About: Hi! Before Rover, I lived in Japan and personally took care of dogs of all sizes and 3 cats. It was the best time I had and I don't mind doing it while I'm back in the US! I typically get off around 3pm! Off during weekends unless I pick up a shift I'd let you know. My daily walk usually last a couple miles and I wouldn't having furry friends tag along! I have an apartment that allows pets, I also am willing to house sit! My apartment is spacious and I go on long walks myself, so why not have a tiny companion!
About: I love animals and have experience volunteering at the Atlanta Humane Society and Pippi’s Place Cat Rescue. I would love to drop in on your cat or walk your dog on the Beltline! I can drop in or stay with your pet(s) during the day. I am open to staying overnight as well, but I would prefer not to stay more than 1 night in a row since I have pets of my own. I will make sure to respect your (and your pet’s) space. I am adaptable to different personalities, so I will be respectful of their boundaries and preferences.
About: I have five years of pet-sitting and house-sitting experience as a form of income, but I have been a pet owner and lover of animals for my entire life! Friends, neighbors, and colleagues have hired me by word of mouth, so pleased with the level of care I provide to their home and/or fur-baby. I currently work full-time, Mon-Fri with late afternoon (starting at 3pm) and full weekend availability. I have two cats that I love and care for with all my heart. While I make coffee, I obey their need for a morning treat and roll up the window blinds so they can watch the birds as the sun rises. Our morning routine. I go to work, come home, and give them all of my attention. I care for my clients’ pets in their preferred way, with whatever is relayed to me. Then I always add a little extra love and care. I make sure to know any allergies, places or animals to avoid on walks, and preferred discipline strategies. When I am house-sitting, I follow the instructions handed to me while being sure to make it seem as though I was never there upon my departure. Clean, cozy, and better than when you left it.

About: Hi there, I've had dogs growing up, from small indoor princess types of sweethearts to larger, outdoor pups that take care of the home and property. I've taken care of pets in my home and have gone to house/pet sit while pup parents are on vacation. I pride in caring for your pup as my own because I know what it's like to have to leave them behind. Rest assured you will receive many updates. I am available to meet you and your pet before booking a visit so we can all get time together. I lpve walks and belly rubs or petting cats and just spending time with them at home or on the go. Please feel free to ask any questions. I would love to be your sitter.
About: I changed the direction my life was going and found the REASON was Animal Care. I began volunteering at 2 local Humane Societies in 2013. Very shortly thereafter became employed at both Societies = working 7 days a week with animals. I adopted my first 2 pets (torti cats named Cali & Ava) in the Fall of 2013. Adopted a 3rd torti cat in the Spring of 2014 (named Hallie B). I adopted a chihuahua in the Fall of 2016 (named Clara my grandmother’s name). With the exception of Hallie B they have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The 1st in December 2020 then June 2021 and most recently in May of this year :-( 🐾🐾🐾 They were adopted as Seniors. They were the best. After 4 years of Humane Society work I changed direction again in 2017 to a more professional aspect of Animal Care becoming employed at a Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Attendant for over 7 years. I have performed a number of cat drop-ins around the Gloucester area for various residents affiliated with the Humane Society. One such assignment lasted for almost two months while the cat’s owners traveled to Florida for the winter. I currently work (outside of Animal Care) OVERNIGHT 40 hours WEDNESDAY thru SATURDAY. Those days I am usually available for Animal Care from 8am to 2pm. Sunday thru Tuesday I am totally available. There is some flexibility with my overnight work and the possibility of a little accommodation for Animal Care. I also have to spare some time for my own cat’s care. Quality. Compassionate. Care. is what I provide pets. I want them to have the creature comforts that make them feel all warm and comfy and content.

About: I have had dogs my entire life. From every size and breed, from Beagle to Pitbull-Mastiff mix. Imagine your anxious dog when you get home from work, super ready for a long walk... well that's me. I am a pediatric psych nurse at CHKD so I get home from work and can't sit and relax on the couch. So dog walking or sitting would help to tucker me and your dog out! If you have a strict schedule for when your pup should be fed or walked, or how much food, etc, I will do exactly what you ask. If you have a certain route or play routine, I will oblige. All in all, I want to make you and your dog happy and become a trusted and loyal person in both of your lives! I also have 3 cats so I would also be able to help with your kitties as well!
“Simone walked my 2-year-old puppy. He can be a handful but she has taken to walking him like a pro. What impressed me most was her beautiful smile when she walked in her positive attitude and her genuine affection for my Dasher.”

“Vivian is the sweetest! My puppy loves her, and greets her like family when they met. She is very prompt and extra accommodating when a few hickups came up. Loved getting her review and rover card details from their walks.”

“MaryAnn did an awesome job watching my dog. She took her in on short notice over the holidays and sent me great pictures every day. She even gave her a small birthday party with extra turkey for dinner! Highly recommend!”

“First time using Rover and I’m glad I was linked up with Sherry. She is very quick to response to questions and concerns. My puppy’s stay was very pleasant and I received daily pictures from her. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Highly recommended!!!!!”

“Autumn was incredible with Jack and Daisy! From the moment we met her, I could tell they were in great hands. She clearly knows her stuff when it comes to dogs, and her experience really shows. Her setup is super clean and safe, and I loved that the kennel is attached to her home — it felt like Jack and Daisy were part of the family the whole time.”

“Meagan was awesome! Especially with a last minute booking, she was available for meet and greet prior and asked and answered any questions with ease. Throughout the stay her communications were excellent and she sent great pictures. We didn’t worry on our trip because we knew Lyra was in great hands! We knew Lyra was treated as family while in her stay! Would 100 percent book her again!”

“Michelle was very sweet to my pups and extremely accommodating to my ever changing schedule! She took the time to ensure my Border Collie got exercise and that my senior Shitzu got plenty of comfy naps! She was also really great about sending pictures and updates. I’d absolutely recommend her!”
“I contacted Daisy LATE for the possible care of my Dog as a previous Sitter was not a good fit...we had a Meet/Greet on same day I contacted her which went well!! and she agreed to watch him for the weekend! She sent pictures plus she has an older dog who is chill like mine and they got along fine!! Her and her husband, Walter really cool people who care about and for your pet. very clean house, plenty of fenced in yard for my dog to 'explore'. I highly recommend Daisy, husband Walter and their 'boy' Teddy!!!!”
