“Second time using Sharon and service was again outstanding. Our pup was loved, well-attended to, and received lots of attention. Came back happy and healthy. Sharon is very easy to communicate with, flexible with logistics, and kept us informed throughout our trip. Highly recommend!”

“Emmy had a fantastic stay with Dalton and his family! Dalton was very detailed and asked plenty of questions prior to the stay to make sure he knew how to take care of Emmy and there wasn’t anything he was missing. I had complete trust that Emmy was in good hands and I would rebook in a heartbeat.”

“Hailey did great for my pup Ivy! She had a good time playing with her kids. Hailey was great about keeping me updated and sending me pictures and videos of Ivy. I will rebook in the future and recommend her to anyone that needs a sitter.”

“Sravan and his fiancé were absolutely incredible with our anxious little guy! From the minute we dropped Yogi off they made him feel comfortable and loved. They kept us updated with lots of photos and messages which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. They even cooked special treat for him! It was obvious they truly love and care about animals. We couldn’t have asked for better sitters and I truly think Yogi had an amazing time with them. I would seriously recommend them to anyone visiting Virginia Beach and looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and attentive to watch their pet. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of our boy! ❤️🐾”

“Nyah is very sweet. She was accommodating to a last minute, same day request with a drop off within 2 hours. Amazing right! What a blessing We had an extremely important event the following day and our original pet plan didn’t work out Nyah opened her home and allowed 2 night boarding for our kitty Being on vacation and unfamiliar with the areas pet care Rover was my only option. This was our first time using Rover, Thankfully the site provides quality sitters like Nyah who have availability to get you out of a pinch It didn’t hurt that Nyah has a cat of her own We were excited that Coda could spend some time with a fellow feline:) She communicated well and sent updates and pics daily. I recommend this home for your pet baby needs and would use Nyah as a sitter again.”

“Lisa has watched our girls multiple times and goes above and beyond for them when they’re in her and her family’s care! She’s great at providing updates and the dogs become a part of the family when they’re with her. We couldn’t recommend her more to care for your furry friends!”

“Bernie and Julie were great! Sami really enjoyed her stay with them. They sent lots of pictures and updates. Couldn’t ask for better care of my sweet pup! Very cooperative!”

“I cannot recommend Nina enough! She was the nicest ever and I immediately felt comfortable leaving my dog with her. She sent pictures and updates of a very happy dog everyday. She truly went above and beyond keeping up with his training and commands that I left and I appreciated that so much! Racer had such a great time and I would rebook 100%. Thank you again 😊”

“Cherry and Jackie were really great with Ace and their two dogs peanut and teddy were a great energy for Ace. They would send me lots of photos and videos of Ace and was appreciative of the communication they provided. Very nice and loving with Ace, will be booking with them again ! 😁”

“MaryKathryn and Sebastian were an amazing choice for taking care of my baby! As soon as he walked inside he felt at home. They were also super flexible when I needed to change my pick up time! Thank you!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and it was a wonderful experience! My dog is 12 years old and blind, so at first I was anxious about leaving her under someone else’s care. Jiyali made me feel very comfortable with her listed experience and asking the right questions before dropping her off to make sure she would be comfortable and happy during her stay. She sent frequent updates, and in every photo and video my dog looked so happy to be there! The process was very convenient, and both me and my dog were comfortable with the care she provided and will definitely request her again. I’m grateful to have found someone that could ease my anxiety and make the experience wonderful. Thank you so much for everything!”

“Scarlett had a great time with Rhonda and her dogs! Her home and yard were lovely and immaculate! It was like Scarlett had a vacation while we had a vacation! Rhonda took the time to learn Scarlett's likes, and Scarlett quickly felt at home with her. I'm very grateful for Rhonda, and I'm already planning our next vacation without worry that I will have the perfect person to care for my littlest family member.”

“Kristyna took such good care of Winkie. I was out of the country while she had a few vet appointments scheduled. Kristyna took her to her appointments, administered her medicine and kept her safe and comfortable during her stay. She kept me updated morning and night with pictures, I didn’t even have to ask. I will definitely be booking her again!”

“Beka was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Wish I could rate 10 stars! Sent regular updates and kept us updated the whole time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO WATCH YOUR FUR BABY!! I WOULD REBOOK WITH BEKA!!!”

This was Billy’s very first time being boarded, and Chelsea made the entire experience so easy and stress-free for us. From the moment we met her, she went above and beyond to make sure Billy felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for. She kept us updated throughout his stay with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were enjoying our vacation in Virginia Beach. It was obvious that she truly cared about Billy as if he were her own. Chelsea was always available to answer our questions, incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely passionate about what she does. We couldn’t have asked for a better first boarding experience. If you’re looking for someone you can completely trust with your pet, I cannot recommend Chelsea enough. Billy came home happy, healthy, and well cared for. We will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. Thank you, Chelsea, for taking such amazing care of our sweet pitbull!

I could not recommend Taylor enough. I have a high energy, very large puppy. I’m also in the process of training my dog and Taylor was so willing to continue all of my training and work with Racer while he was watching him. He also sent TONS of updates and pictures. There was not a single moment that I was worried about Racer. I had 100% confidence that Racer was on the best hands possible and I would recommend Taylor to any pet parent out there.

Alex was wonderful! She accommodated us within an hour of booking after we realized our hotel wasn’t pet‑friendly. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which really eased our nerves since it was our first time boarding our dog. She made the whole experience comfortable and stress‑free. Thank you Alex!
Jessica is amazing. She watched our rescue beagle who can be very anxious. Jessica was very patient accommodating and kept us very informed about Malias days and nights. She sent us tons of pics so we could see our girl was doing great with her. Highly recommend Jessica and hope to use her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
