“Ayana was wonderful. I love how she made you feel comfortable and confident with her stay from the first meet. She sent pics throughout the stay which kept me at ease.”

“Jenn and her family took great care of Winnie and Jack! We appreciate her daily updates with photos and could tell our dogs were in great hands! I will definitely use her services again!”

“Michelle is a true professional. She took as great care of me as she did my pup. It was my first time boarding Toshi and last minute at that. The tons of pics and videos that Michelle sent, helped reassure this momma that her pup was in great hands. I couldn't be happier with Toshi's care. I would highly recommend Michelle and will be using her in the future!”

“I contacted Daisy LATE for the possible care of my Dog as a previous Sitter was not a good fit...we had a Meet/Greet on same day I contacted her which went well!! and she agreed to watch him for the weekend! She sent pictures plus she has an older dog who is chill like mine and they got along fine!! Her and her husband, Walter really cool people who care about and for your pet. very clean house, plenty of fenced in yard for my dog to 'explore'. I highly recommend Daisy, husband Walter and their 'boy' Teddy!!!!”

“Daniel was great and Bentley had tons of fun with the other dogs. He has a great environment for the dogs to run around and be comfortable. Would definitely recommend and use again.”

“Kobie did an outstanding job taking care of my 1 1/2 year old rottweiler Roscoe for the week. It was Roscoe's first time being around dogs he didn't know and he had a ball playing with them all. Kobe was super responsive and even sent videos of Roscoe playing with him and all the dogs throughout the week. I will definitely be using Kobe's services again.”

“Rachel was EXTREMELY nice & kept me up to date with Oliver. I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of leaving him but I was immediately put at ease once I met her and talked to her . I absolutely recommend booking with them & I will most definitely rebook with them .”
“Kristynah was amazing! She was constantly giving us updates on how our dogs were for the weekend, pics and fun anecdotes, and if she every had questions she didn’t hesitate to check-in. I had no worries leaving our dogs in the very best hands! ?”

“We don’t leave our baby often, but we’re in a position where our normal baby sitters couldn’t watch him. We met Meghan before hand and felt confident she would take good care of our Buck! She sent us updates and made us feel he was well taken care of! Would recommend Megahn and her family for boarding to anyone in need!”

“Cherry was wonderful! She provided tons of videos and photos of my two pups! Even with crazy travel issues, she was able to keep my dogs for longer than originally planned and gave me peace of mind as I navigated travel delays! Highly recommend her for watching your pets!”

“Heidi was absolutely wonderful. She took care of our pup like she was her own. We got updates and pictures and could not have asked for a better sitter. We would definitely recommend Heidi and will be using her again in the future.”

“Lauren and her wonderful family are the very best sitters and genuinely love dogs. This is Ollie's second time visiting, and I know he's happy and loved; he always has a blast playing with Lauren's dog, Milo. Thank you!”

“10/10! Cassandra and Tradd were amazing!!! Cassandra sent me photos throughout my pup’s stay, and gave frequent updates. She was very responsive and super friendly! Great home, great people. Will be using again!”

“I have boarded Cookies more than a dozen times over the past 12 years and Julie will be my go to dog boarder! She asked great questions before drop off and communicated the schedule at pick up so we could stay on schedule at home. She sent me several pictures while I was away so that I could see my fur baby. She let me know how she was adjusting to her environment from the moment she arrived. She shared that my senior dog wasn’t ready to get up when the rest of the family was ready, so they let her sleep in❤️. When my fur baby was leaving, she looked back at the door to see if Julie was coming with us. I look forward to my next trip because I know I can relax and not worry about my dogs’ care.”

“David did so great with my Great Pyrenees, Charlie! He was also very patient with me as this was my first time using the app and I accidentally scheduled the wrong day. Upon meeting Charlie was very comfortable with him and he was excited to go hang with David. Thank you SO much for taking care of our huge furry friend. I highly recommend having David watch your dog!”

“Gail was such a blessing to us for watching Maverick. Her communication was some of the best we've seen on Rover. She sent us pictures and updates daily. Even a goodnight picture of our pup! Will rebook for sure without question.”

Blaine was very responsive when I scheduled. We met and he was very personable and easy with the dog. we took him to his home as we felt comfortable with him. His house is quiet and calm which we really appreciated. Blaine was very loving with our dog He sent us one picture when he calmed down. we were not interrupted on vacation, but he did response promptly to my text. I will absolutely allow him to sit for us again. Our dog has definitely decided he likes Blaine and bonded.

Once again I had Madison watch my dog Cooper. She is absolutely fantastic with him and takes great care of him. Not even joking when I went to drop them off he took off down the street and ran right to her door. He was so excited. I know it's hard to find a good dog sitter but Madison is one of the best I have ever had.

She sent pictures plus she has an older dog who is chill like mine and they got along fine!! Isaac took excellent care of our dogs, Duchess and Jojo, while we were away on a week-long cruise. His communication was great throughout our trip, and we really appreciated the frequent photo updates. We picked up our pups happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Isaac to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Very easy to drop them off and pick up, Brandon came to help and was super friendly and very welcoming for my chaotic kiddos. He did a phenomenal job taking good care of them while I was away. I got lots of pictures of their walks and the fun things they did this amend. I was worried because one of my boys has an anxious attachment personality due to his upbringing before I adopted him, but that wasn’t much of an issue with him due to the comfort and care that was provided. Extremely happy with the service (:

Thankful to Paul and his family for accommodating Bo and Jackson during a challenging sitter scheduling. He picked up my dogs from another sitter, identified some pet injuries, and reported them back to let me know my pets were safe and secure. Thanks to him and his family for providing me peace of mind.

Zimir was absolutely great. We had some last minute changes to our plans and he was able to watch our dogs on short notice. He provided lots of updates, as well as pictures. I definitely recommend Zimir. He was great at communicating as well. Thank you very much Zimir!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
