“Julie and Ken were fantastic! Fern stayed with them for a full week. Julie kept me up to date everyday with pictures and a little note about her day. Knowing that she was with a caring family made it easy for me to not worry while on vacation. I will absolutely rebook with them!”

“Kathleen and her family provided a loving home for our Scottie dog for 11 days. Her home ad yard are set up to provide a safe environment for our pup. He came home healthy, happy, and played out. Kathleen and her three dogs were wondeerful hosts. I think our little guy misses playing with them.”

“Megan was absolutely amazing. I always have anxiety when leaving my dogs with someone new but she made me feel so much better. She was kind and patient and gave me great updates on my dogs wellbeing.”

“Rachel's wonderful! She watched Lily once before and we're so grateful she was able to watch her again, and on short notice. She was also very kind when our pick up was later than expected. She and Andrew are so nice, and Rachel always keeps us updated with photos and text messages. Lily loves playing with their adorable pup, Roscoe, and it's cute to see them having fun together. We would definitely feel comfortable having her watch Lily again!”

“Absolutely wonderful! My spoiled and picky old man stayed with Lillian and Timothy for the first time, and I could not have asked for better and more considerate care. They cleverly found ways to get him to take his medication when he was being fussy with his usual turkey wraps. And they sent lots of pictures of him enjoying walks, having cozy naps, and getting plenty of attention and love. 10/10 recommend!”

“Charlie had an amazing stay with Stacy and fam! He got to play outside in a fun fenced-in yard with another fur friend and human friends. He also got to eat some natural dog treats. He will be back!”
“Piper had a wonderful time with Tina and the other dogs there! Communication was great and I enjoyed the pictures I received from her! I will definitely be using her services again!”

“MaryAnn did an awesome job watching my dog. She took her in on short notice over the holidays and sent me great pictures every day. She even gave her a small birthday party with extra turkey for dinner! Highly recommend!”

“Beverly was a saint! She answered my request to board to board my little one on a very short notice (due to a funeral). This was my little guy's first time away from me since he's newly adopted. She sent lots of pictures and he looked very content in her company. I felt as though he found a second home and I will DEFINITELY request her again.”

“We had a great experience working with Melanie! She was attentive, caring, and kept us updated throughout our pet (Kash’s) stay. We really appreciated the regular pictures and messages showing how he was doing, it gave us so much peace of mind. Kash was well cared for, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Beth was fantastic with our Goldendoodle, Remington! He and her dog Chloe became fast friends, and we loved getting daily photo updates. It was clear he was happy and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter—highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“Finch had a great time at Ayana's place. Lots of walks, snuggles and sunbathing. He was tired out when I took him home and was a happy puppy. Thank you to Ayana and her family!”

“Second time leaving Jeff with Matthew and Maria and they truly take care of him as if he were their own. Jeff is on his own mini vacation when with them! My favorite sitters!!!”

“This was our first time leaving our little Golden doodle with Samantha. I will say, I was a bit intimidated by leaving him with a pit bull there, but upon meeting the pit bull he was the sweetest big dog ever. My worries immediately vanished! There were a couple other dogs there, so that was nice. There was one dog a bit too interested in my little guy, so I didn’t want to leave until he calmed down. Samantha never made me feel rushed to leave or weird. She was super patient and asking me if I wanted the dogs split up, or inside or outside. I really thought that said a lot about the person I was leaving our baby with and I really liked that. I say all that to say, you can’t always control how dogs will interact with each other, but you can control how you react to them and Samantha was very calm, kind and friendly. She never looked overwhelmed or nervous. She was a bit embarrassed I think because of the initial behavior of this other dog she was caring for, but I understood that wasn’t a reflection of her care. We left out little guy there 3 days and she communicated through the day with updates, sent photos and even went the extra step of boiling and egg to mix it with my dogs food since we do that for him at home too. I’m thankful we found someone to watch our guy for when we need it! Highly recommend! 10 out of 10!”

“Sherry was very helpful and responsive. This was our first time leaving our dogs and using Rover. Sherry sent us photos and updates during our trip. Our dogs loved her family too! We will definitely call Sherry on our next trip”

“Lisa has been caring for our cats for many years, and she always does a great job. Our cats hate most people but they are totally comfortable with Lisa. Recently, Lisa has gone above and beyond when boarding our dogs and taking care of our baby chick's. We appreciate Lisa so much, I dont know what I would do without her!”

“She did an amazing job taking care of our four little heathens… I mean, kitties! 🐾 Everyone was always fed, watered, and the litter robots were spotless. We felt totally at ease knowing she was checking in every day (and her updates were wonderfully detailed!). Super reliable, caring, and patient with our crew — highly recommend.”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with years of professional experience working in animal shelters and caring for animals of all personalities and needs. As a cat owner myself, I understand that every cat is unique—some love attention and playtime, while others prefer a calm, quiet presence and care on their own terms. I currently share my home with two cats, so I know how important it is to have someone reliable checking in while you're away. During visits, I'll make sure your cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and plenty of attention, playtime, or cuddles if they want it. I'm also happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're gone. As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable care for your feline family members. Whether your cat is social, shy, playful, or independent, I'll treat them with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I give my own pets. I look forward to meeting you and your cat!

“Alyssa is attentive and takes great care of our babies while we are away. We have used her services several times and will continue to in the future. Also she takes the best candid pet pics!”

“Theresa has giving me such peace of mind. I travel quite often and had a non-Rover sitter coming by to care for the cats. The care was inconsistent, which is so unfair to pets. I decided to book someone thru Rover and am so lucky to have found Theresa. She lives very close to my home and provides the attention and consistency that the cats deserve.”

“I told Stephanie that she can check on my cats any time as long as 1 was in the morning and 1 at night while I went away for the weekend. She actually followed the schedule I put to the tee and updated me the entire time I was gone. Thank you so much for caring for my 3 cats!”

“Kess was absolutely incredible :) she sent such cute photos and showed so much patience and love to my skittish cat that he came out of his shell in no time. I knew I could trust her to take extra good care of him in my absence. Will absolutely book again in the future. Thanks Kess!!”

“She was amazing, sent so many updated photos with each visit, the litter boxes were spotless, our cats looked so relaxed/happy in the photos and we will using her again next time!”

“Took great care of my cats while I was away and even made two visits one day when their automatic litter box had a fault. My cats loved having someone come by and play with them (they’re still kittens) while I was gone.”

About: I have taken care of cats since I was a kid and have had many cats throughout my life. I cat sit for family still to this day and have done lots of research on cats in general.

“I was terrified to book through Rover and have a stranger care for my little kitty but Jeanne is an absolute delight. She came over before booking and met both him and I, you can just tell she really loves animals. She is so kind, so knowledgable, so caring, and ringo absolutely loved her. She provides multiple photos from her visits and a report card on how they’re doing and what they did during her visit. She meets the critters where they’re at so if he wanted pets or treats or to play she could read that and respond. I am so very impressed and elated that I found her. We love Jeanne and your pets would be lucky to know her!”

“Teresa was AMAZING! Everything looked great upon our return and our cats seemed completely content. They barely noticed we were gone with all of Teresa’s attentions. We got pictures and videos every day we were gone, which gave us peace of mind. Couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter!”

“Abi was a great sitter for my pitbull over a long weekend. She provided updates and took great care of her. I can tell she cares a lot about animals. We'd absolutely use Abi for drop in visits again. Thank you Abi!”

“I’m the type of person who said I’d never be able to let a stranger watch my babies. I found myself in a position where I needed to break that rule and Hannah was so wonderful that I wasn’t stressed at all about leaving her with my pets. She and her daughter came over every day to play with, feed, and care for my babies. She was very communicative, innovative when any pets might not eat enough or seem too stressed, and knowledgeable. She was willing to try any ideas I had on how to help my pets cope, too (my dog especially is a very anxious boy). I truly believe that Hannah and her daughter loved my pets like I do and I couldn’t be happier with how their visits went. I cannot recommend Hannah enough.”

“Hannah was an amazing sitter! She took great pictures of my cat as well as pictures to make sure I knew he had food, clean litter and water! I would definitely recommend her and will be using her again in the future!”

“We hired Kylie to take care of our babies for 10 days and I couldn’t be more pleased. I was very nervous as this was the first time leaving them in the hands of someone else for so long. She gave constant updates and took care of my babies just as she said she would. She was in constant communication and everything went smooth. She has no problem giving me pictures and updates. I will happily use her again in the future. If you’re looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, friendly sitter — Kylie is the one. Can’t thank her enough!”

“Maggie did a fantastic job looking after our older cat over the holidays. She was very communicative and sent us the cutest pictures every day. We came home to him happy and healthy, which is everything you want from a sitter! Thank you!!”

“Amy was wonderful with our older puppies while we were on vacation. She took extra care of any accidents and made sure they always had exercise and love. We always received updates every visit and you could tell our pups were so happy. Extremely happy and appreciative for her care for our fur babies.”

About: Hi! I’m a dedicated pet lover with hands-on experience working at a professional boarding facility for a year, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and needs. That experience taught me how to handle everything from high-energy pups to more anxious or shy dogs, always with patience and care. I also have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I treat every animal like they’re part of my own family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m available any time, any day, and offer a wide range of services including walks, drop-ins, and boarding. I’m very reliable and always keep owners updated with messages and photos so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. Whether your pet needs playtime, structure, or just some extra love and attention, I’m here to help! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine since I’m available full-time and have a very flexible schedule. I plan my days around the pets I’m caring for to make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. Since I’m available any time, I can accommodate early mornings, late evenings, and last-minute bookings. Your pet will never be left alone for long periods, and I make sure they’re always a priority in my schedule. I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s routine and needs. In my home, I create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where pets can relax, play, and feel at home. I follow their normal feeding, walking, and sleeping schedules as closely as possible to keep things consistent and stress-free. In a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain their pet’s routine exactly as instructed. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care like administering medication if needed. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and supervision at all times. With my experience working at a boarding facility, I’m comfortable handling different temperaments and ensuring every pet feels safe and well cared for.
“Once again, Michelle took great care of our French Bulldog, Daly. She gave us several photos during the time she watched Daly. Michelle really knows how to make her 4-legged visitors feel at home. We were so fortunate to have Michelle take care of Daly again! Thanks, Michelle!”

About: I have had 1-2 dogs in my home for the last 20 years, and have spent hundreds of hours at dog parks, with other pet owners, and learning best pet parenting practices. As a teacher of 25 years, I can roll in my patience, reliability, and flexibility from my career as well as my own pet experiences. I am training my teen daughter to assist me, so, together, we can offer THE best care around the clock. Your dog or cat will appreciate how he or she will be carefully handled whether it's for dog walking, pet sitting, or boarding. I look forward to meeting your fur baby! As a teacher who works 50% of the day teaching online from home, I am only gone a maximum of four hours a day on weekdays and I am off on summers, holidays, and weekends. This allows me to spend a good deal of my time doing something I love: taking care of pets. Now, my teen daughter who wants to become a zoologist is also stepping up to help give every furbaby maximum attention! I spoil dogs, allowing them on couches and in beds; have a large, enclosed porch with lots of doggy lounge areas; live on the Elizabeth River Trail for long dog walks; and am walking distance from a super nice dog park. If sitting them at their home, I am sure to follow all owner instructions and to treat their pets like they were my own to include lots of chats, pets, and snuggles!
“Miss Patricia is a wonderful dog-sitter. I know Hope loves spending time with her because when I pull into the driveway she tries to jump out of the window to get to the house. She is so kind and attentive to Hope. She recognized something was wrong with Hope and alerted me to excessive itching. Went to vet and Hope had an ear infection that I would have missed working all day. Highly recommend Miss Patricia to care for your dog.”

About: **Work from Home** **Please message if you have more than 2 dogs for special pricing** I am very much a helicopter mom to all of my fur babies. I will care for yours the exact same as I would my own. Being someone you can trust with your family member while you are at work or away from home is my goal. I have fostered for a trusted animal rescue and screened for potential adopters as well! I work from home so I will have plenty of time to go on walks, play and let them out for potty breaks. I make sure your pup stays on their “at home” schedule to keep them comfy and relaxed during their stay. I have a fenced in yard and a clean home with nothing laying around on the floors. Your baby will have their own space (with or without crate) and will be cared for like they are my own.

About: I’ve cared for dogs for friends and family for many years, providing a safe, loving home while they’re away. My spacious, dog-friendly home and large fenced backyard give pups plenty of room to play, relax, and feel at home. As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home most of the day to provide personalized care, attention, and exercise. On the occasional evening I work, my husband and our two adult sons, who are also dog lovers, help care for your pup. Our resident dog, Graham, is a calm, friendly senior who enjoys other dogs and helps create a relaxed environment. My goal is to make every pup feel safe, loved, and treated like part of the family. I am Home during the day and only work occasional weekend evenings from 7:00–11:00 PM. During those times, my husband and adult children are home to help supervise and care for your pup. If I need to run a quick errand, I do have a crate available if your dog is crate-trained and comfortable using one. I follow a structured daily routine that includes playtime, walks, potty breaks, rest periods, and plenty of attention, while always adapting to your dog’s individual needs and schedule. My own dog, Graham, is a well-trained senior who is calm, independent, and very well-behaved. His routine will not interfere with the care and attention your dog receives. Because of my home environment, I do prefer dogs that are house-trained, can comfortably be left alone for short periods if necessary, and have basic manners. My home is spacious, clean, and dog-friendly, providing plenty of room for your pup to relax and play. I have a large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time. Please note that I have a large ungated swimming pool, so I only accept dogs that are comfortable around a pool and will not attempt to jump in. For the safety and comfort of all pets in my care, I require that dogs: * Be fully house-trained. * Be friendly and social with other dogs. * Have good manners in a group setting. I occasionally host up to three dogs at a time, which is the maximum number I accept. This allows me to provide each dog with plenty of attention, supervision, exercise, and care. Everyone in my home is an adult, so there are no small children. This creates a calm environment where your dog will receive consistent care, love, and supervision. To ensure the best experience for everyone, I require a meet-and-greet before accepting any new client. This gives us the opportunity to make sure your pup is a great fit for my home and helps everyone feel comfortable before their stay.

“Morgan was wonderful. She took my last‑minute request while I’m recovering from an injury and handled my big, energetic dog with confidence and care. She sent photo updates throughout the walk, which was such a comfort. Consistent and warm communication, reliable, and truly a huge help. I’d book with her again. Highly recommend.”

About: My (Abi’s) family ran a pet sitting business for almost 5 years, scaling back after covid. We worked with every breed and temperament of dog, and also took care of cats and occasionally fish. My family adopted rescues from abusive situations, so I have a lot of experience working with/training fear reactive and aggressive dogs, as well as escape artists and bolters. Jordan grew up with animals, pet-sitting for friends and family, and has stepped into pet-sitting with me! Together, we have a 4 year old dog, Atlantic, and a rabbit, JJ! I raised Atlantic from 10 weeks old and have worked with soo many puppies, as well as senior dogs, and know how to give medicine to pups, cats, and rabbits. Additionally, we have experience with nearly every kind of pet. We can work with pretty much anything you need for your pet, and would prefer to keep any routines and training habits you have for them! My schedule is generally super flexible. The more notice you can give me about any schedule changes would be great, but I totally get that things change last minute and I'll do my best to work out something that works for both schedules :) just message me! Safety is priority!! If your pet is easily startled, has any food aggression, has any triggers, is a bit more nervous/shy, or is a bolter, please let me know so I can be prepared and take more steps to keep everyone safe.

About: I have been taking car of all kinds of dogs for years. I've watched dogs from Labrador puppies to senior German Shepards. I've owned dogs my whole life and I've always had a special bond with them. Dogs usually gravitate towards me because I am a very fun and light hearted person. My friends often refer to me as a Disney princess because of how I am with animals. I belive all animals need love and respect and I always do my best to make them feel safe and loved. I am a nanny for a mother of three during the day but I am usually only needed two or three days a week so my weekends are completely free. Even days when I watch my kids I am off by 3pm and can spend evenings with the pets. I have several dogs of my own so my house is fully equipped with w fenced in yard and my house is pet safe. In regards to a clients home I would of course check what the client has in place but as a pet owner I am also aware pets can be sneaky and love to get into mischief. I am always checking on clients pets making sure they are safe and not getting into things they shouldn't. I am also certified in pet cpr and massage therapy incase a pet does get into distress or if they need some other help with pain. Over all my priority is always the health and safety of my client beloved pets.

“Feeling overwhelmed and being unable to take our lab for walks in the midst of everything was heart wrenching. Chris was a life saver and stepped in within hours of our request. He was also extremely punctual and clearly knew what he’s doing. Our lab came back from his walks looking super satisfied, energy released and calm all through the day. Highly recommend Chris!”

“Ashlynn is great!! She’s super responsive and kind. I’ve been using her for about a month now and it makes me feel so much better that I have her to walk my sweet Penny when I am at work.”

“I was extremely nervous about using rover my Koda is 70Ibs and absolutely insane in the best possible way. Tyler reassured and explained to me how everything was going to work. When tyler came to the door Koda was in protective mode, thankfully tyler didn’t get scared off instead he suggested a new approach to them meeting and once Koda sniffed him he immediately let tyler take the leash! He was amazing and I will definitely be scheduling with him again!”

“Tiffany has been a lifesaver and a treasure for our family! We got a new (90lbs now) puppy this summer and she comes and walks him twice a week while we are at work. She plays with him, gives him a long from the freezer, makes sure he has fresh water, and even goes above and beyond to bring in a package if it’s on the porch. Over the holiday we needed someone in the evening while we went to Busch Gardens and she came right over. She is so flexible if we ever need to switch days last minute or want to add a day. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience working in animal shelters, dog daycare centers, and boarding facilities. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and I truly enjoy getting to know each pet's unique personality and needs. After recently losing my beloved dogs, I realized I wasn't quite ready for another long-term commitment, but I deeply missed having dogs around. Rover has given me the perfect opportunity to open my home and heart to dogs while helping other pet parents feel confident their pets are in good hands. I'm a stay-at-home mom, which means your dog will have plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. We have a large fenced-in yard for safe outdoor play and exercise. I also have two cats who grew up with dogs and are comfortable sharing their space, as well as two young children who have been around dogs their entire lives and know how to interact respectfully with them. For the comfort and safety of every pet in my care, I only accept dogs from one household at a time. This allows me to provide individualized attention and create a calm, stress-free environment during their stay. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I will care for your dog as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day. My mornings typically begin with feeding pets, potty breaks, walks, or playtime before my family's daily activities start. Because I am home most of the day, pets receive frequent attention, supervision, and companionship rather than being left alone for long periods. Throughout the day, I can accommodate additional potty breaks, outdoor time in our fenced yard, feeding schedules, medication administration if needed, and plenty of affection and enrichment. In the evenings, pets are included in our family's relaxed routine, with more playtime, walks, and cuddles before bedtime. For boarding and daycare, dogs are rarely left unattended, and I only accept pets from one household at a time to ensure each pet receives personalized care and attention. I care for every pet as if they were my own, taking the time to learn their routine, preferences, and personality. I understand that being away from their family can be stressful, so I strive to provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. For dogs, I provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, enrichment activities, and plenty of affection. Dogs have access to our large fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, and because I am home throughout the day, they receive consistent attention and companionship. I only care for dogs from one household at a time, which allows me to focus on their individual needs and maintain a low-stress environment. For cats, I ensure they have fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and attention at their comfort level. Whether your cat enjoys playtime, cuddles, or simply having a quiet and reliable caretaker, I respect their personality and routine. I am also comfortable following special instructions, administering medications when needed, and providing regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

“MaryAnn did an awesome job watching my dog. She took her in on short notice over the holidays and sent me great pictures every day. She even gave her a small birthday party with extra turkey for dinner! Highly recommend!”

“Beth was fantastic with our Goldendoodle, Remington! He and her dog Chloe became fast friends, and we loved getting daily photo updates. It was clear he was happy and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter—highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“Shannon did a great job taking care of Leo. She kept me updated by sending pictures and videos, which I really appreciated. Leo only stayed for two nights, but he seemed to have a great time. She also had two other golden retrievers there, so he had some buddies to play with. Overall, he enjoy his stay. I would definitely trust Shannon to watch Leo again.”
