“Our Dixie had a wonderful stay with Shania and her family. We were sent pictures and updates during Dixie’s stay. She was well taken care of and we will definitely be planning another stay with Shania.”

“Kacie is so loving and caring. I enjoyed her personality and enthusiasm I hope Bennie did also! I appreciate that she requested a meet and greet. Bennie had a chance to meet her dogs and Kacie got an opportunity to see the dynamics of the 3 dogs. I will definitely use Kacie's services again.”

“Sarah was AMAZING! We were very nervous leaving our high-energy puppy for the first time but Sarah made sure that our puppy got all the care in the world. Sarah is very kind and was very quick to respond and sent us plenty of pictures of our pup daily. She has a huge fenced in yard for the dogs to run around in and her children are so sweet and kind with the pups. I can not recommend her enough and will definitely be booking her again!”

“Thank you Paul and Terri! Super sweet family and you made Bailey feel right at home. If I am in the area again I will be sure to contact you again. Thank you 😊”

“TJ and his family always take such great care of our pups! Anya had an absolute blast with them as always. It was her 1st birthday while we were out of town and TJ and his family went above and beyond to celebrate the day with her and send us plenty of photos! We will always recommend TJ!”

“Jakorey took excellent care of my dog when I went out of town. He sent me several pictures of him, walked him and played with him. I would take my dog to Jakorey again. Thank you.”

“Constance is great! Our schnauzer was in amazing hands, and he seemed to really love his time there. We will definitely schedule with Constance in the future and refer her to anyon els who may need dog sitter support.”

“I was looking for sitters and came across Amanda and Scott. They were very accommodating from beginning to end. I received daily updates and pictures of Arya for the duration of her stay. And Arya seemed to enjoy herself and make a new friend in Walter and their daughter! I will definitely use Amanda and Scott again in the future! 10/10 would recommend again!”

“Heather is wonderful!! Both our pups love her and her kids! Our lab loves to play catch and it is great that her little ones love to play catch too. I love it that the pups jump out of the car when we get to Heather’s house! They are so excited to see her and the kiddos. I feel so good knowing they are so well taken care of. Thanks so much for being our go to place!!”
“Shawna is awesome! Always kept me updated with pictures and answered any questions almost immediately. Made the whole process of picking up and dropping off very easy and comfortable. Will definitely be my go to for next time!”

“Amy was amazing! We were a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone we didn't know. Amy immediately put us at ease and made us feel like our pup was the most important dog on the planet. She is extremely professional and answered all my texts quickly. She provided photos and updated us with how things were going daily. After meeting her we knew she would care for our dog like she was one of her own. She was extremely flexible at changing the dates of stay when I'd accidentally clicked the wrong days. Even though they were very last minute. Her compassion for animals is truly genuine as evidenced by the model she's set for her children. They, too, took to our dog and treated her like a real princess. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our pupper.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have spent the last 3 years volunteering with Hope for Life Rescue and Penninsula Regional Animal Shelter, working hands on with pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, from bottle feeding kittens and puppies to caring for senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. I’m the go-to person for family and friends whenever they need someone reliable and loving to care for their pets, whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, daycare, or overnight boarding. I have experience administering medications, handling nervous or shy animals, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like family. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, and I treat every animal as if they were my own, with patience, compassion, and plenty of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because animals are already a big part of my life. I volunteer regularly with a local rescue and animal shelter, foster when needed, and I also run my own business from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and boarding. I provide a safe, loving, and structured environment whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and exercise, and my own pets (two cats and one dog) are all friendly, well socialized, and up to date on their vaccines. My dog, Mercury, just turned two and is full of energy. She loves meeting other dogs and enjoys playdates, which makes her a great companion for social pups who enjoy interaction and play. My goal is always to create a calm, trustworthy environment where both pets and pet parents feel comfortable and confident.
“Paris was fantastic with our dog! This was our first time using rover.com and she sent us lots of pictures which put us at ease. Our dog can be very timid in certain situations but after only one night at Paris’ house he seemed totally comfortable! Also, our flight got delayed by almost three hours and Paris was so sweet and accommodating. We really appreciated her flexibility! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paris to anyone looking for pet care.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Seaford
Katherine was so great with our little dog Cava. Our dog loved her so much he followed her around like a shadow and at the end of the day Cava wanted to be by her and sleep in her room. I think our dog wanted be adopted by his new babysitter. Katherine is such a wonderful dog lover, she didn't even mind. We do not go places without Cava but if we do we would love to have Katherine take care of our little guy.

We really appreciated the pictures and activity updates she sent every day of Winston enjoying his stay. They went for walks and relaxed on the couch together. He was happy to see me at the end of his vacation but he didn’t want to leave! He was one happy dog when we picked him up.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
