“Nothing better than knowing your pup is safe and cared for. Our first time boarding with Rover and loved getting regular photos of our boy running in a big yard or snuggling up on the couch. Highly recommended Amanda and Scott and will be rebooking for an upcoming extended vacation!”

“Jessica was nothing but amazing this stay! We’ve stayed with her twice before and Rippley loved her. She’s very flexible with your plans and makes sure to make your puppy feel at home, plus her kiddos make excellent sitters too!”

“Wow, this family is amazing. I don’t know where to start because I would not have enough characters to explain how much we appreciated Patrick and Kamie. They really showed Penny a lot of love while we were on vacation. We had updates and pictures sent several times a day, and they showed how they engaged Penny with a variety of things that made her happy. I absolutely would recommend this family for all of your pet needs. Our top choice for Penny always!!!”

“Milena was great! She treated my boy like one of her own. She was communicative and sent lots of pictures as I was initially anxious about leaving him. Thank you so much for treating him well! We will be booking with her again!”

“Elisabeth and her kiddos took such great care of our sweet turbo and Watson! It was our first time leaving them with a “stranger” and I was so anxious but Elisabeth kept me updated and sent the best pics! I knew the boys were having the best time! We are so thankful for her! 🐶🐶💗💗”
“WOWSIE WOW WOW! Short notice and Tavonne was extremely gracious to accept Bailey. SUPER EXCITED that Baily had a few playmates. Extremely GRATEFUL for the several text pictures of Bailey just chillin with his buddies. Extremely GRATEFUL to receive several text pictures of Bailey and his buddies just chillin.”

“This was my first time using Rover, it took me awhile to give it a try and now I wish I did It sooner. My pup was taken care of, loved the updates and for a small fee he was nice and freshly washed when I picked him. I would Definitely use her again! And highly recommend.”

“Our 130-pound Great Dane didn't scare these dog lovers! Banner had a great time and, with lots of pictures while we were away, we trusted that he was in great care!”

“My loved dogs received excellent care! Lots of pics. Dogs were brushed and clean when I picked them up. Their tiny dog got along great with my bigger dogs! I recommend them and would use again.”

“Highly recommend Kacie to anyone!!! We are semi-new to the area and needed to find someone to watch our 8 year old dog while we were away for a week trip out of the country. Kacie offered up doing a meet and greet which was extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions and made us feel so comfortable. While we were away, she sent daily pictures and updates. We didn’t have to worry at all! Our dog loved his time with Kacie and will definitely be having her watch our sweet pup again.”

“Amy was amazing! We were a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone we didn't know. Amy immediately put us at ease and made us feel like our pup was the most important dog on the planet. She is extremely professional and answered all my texts quickly. She provided photos and updated us with how things were going daily. After meeting her we knew she would care for our dog like she was one of her own. She was extremely flexible at changing the dates of stay when I'd accidentally clicked the wrong days. Even though they were very last minute. Her compassion for animals is truly genuine as evidenced by the model she's set for her children. They, too, took to our dog and treated her like a real princess. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our pupper.”

About: Hi! I’m Andrea, and I’ve been caring for dogs for over 15 years, starting when I was 11 years old. My experience started with my aunt’s two Shih Tzus, whom I helped care for from puppyhood until they passed away from old age. Since then, dogs have always been a big part of my life. I currently have three dogs back in my home country and a mini Labradoodle named Ember here in the US. Over the years, I’ve cared for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, including giving oral medications and supporting daily routines. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, and basic training. I enjoy teaching simple commands because it helps build trust and confidence between dogs and their environment. I treat every dog with patients, care, and respect as part of my own family. I have a flexible daily routine that allows me to be present and attentive to pets throughout the day. I am able to provide regular potty breaks, walks, and supervised playtime based on each dog’s needs. I am generally home for most of the day, and my schedule allows me to check on pets frequently and maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide care in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly apartment designed to help dogs feel safe and comfortable. I only accept one client or one family at a time to ensure a low-stress environment and close supervision. All pets are introduced slowly and carefully, and interactions with my dog Ember are always supervised. If needed, pets can be separated to ensure they feel comfortable and secure at all times. Because my home has carpeted flooring, I only accept dogs that are reliably house-trained. This helps maintain a clean and comfortable space for all pets in my care. The environment in structured to allow dogs to rest, relax, and adjust comfortably while still having a safe and supervised space throughout their stay.

“Mayu is wonderful and took great care of my Teddy. Mayu and her family showered him with love and affection and he came home a happy and tired doggy. Will definitely contact her again to babysit Teddy”

“Katherine did a wonderful job of opening her house to take such fantastic care of our baby girl!! Knowing that Mylee was so well taken care of, enabled us to enjoy our trip! Thank you Katherine for all you did to make Mylee comfortable and happy!”

“Maeghan was amazing with Frida (our baby) her whole family took wonderful care of her for four days. She played and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be asking for Maeghan services again! Thanks so very much!”

Mariah was very friendly and the booking went well. She said Jasper was a very good guest and Jasper was taken care of. Jasper came home in a good mood and was playful and seemed to have had a good time. We will use Mariah again next time We travel. Thank you, Mariah.

Luisa & her husband and kids all gave my dog so much attention and love! They even sent us home with her favorite chew toy from while she was there. Luisa is a great listener, asks good questions, is very thorough, and genuinely cares about the pups. We will definitely book again with Luisa when the opportunity arises.

Lauren and Andrew took such wonderful care of our Lily and Jack Jack ! Lauren sent pictures and messages throughout the whole stay and they were happy and content ! They spent the holiday in their cozy and loving home ….We’re thankful to have found you and will be booking again !

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
