About: I’ve worked as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant in the past and also have experience petsitting for family and friends. I love animals and have always had a passion for caring for them. I’m currently working full time (9-5) but am available before work, at lunch, and after work for potty breaks/etc. Weekends I am completely available. Whatever routine you have in place for your pet, I can easily follow. I have cared for many pets over the years with no issues.
“Cheyanne B did a great job taking care of my two cats. She either texted me or sent me a photo each day and told me how they were doing. One of my cats is very shy and made sure to spend time with her while sitting in the same room. Everything in my house was clean and tidy.”

“Lisa and her family took amazing care of our dog for the weekend. He loved all the time and love he received. They came a few days before to meet him, which really helped our dog be more friendly. They should lots of patience, when he just wanted to hide under the bed, which helped him eventually come out and play. Thank you”

“Thank you for taking care of my babies while I was away. Stephanie was able to squeeze me in with very short notice and was very punctual in the agreed on times. She sent me updates on the pets and the house, and I felt at ease the entire time.”

“Five Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Savannah stepped in on short notice for the holidays and gave Bella and Hobbes the best care imaginable. She brought such warmth, attention, and playful energy—our pets clearly felt safe and loved the entire time. Her support made all the difference, and we’re so grateful for her reliability and kindness. We’d welcome her back anytime!”
“Maggie was absolutely amazing!! She is kind, great with the animals, communicative, proactive, and just super helpful! It was so nice knowing she was looking after our babies while we were away.”

“Sheryl was great with our dog and cat while we were away for the holidays. She was caring, attentive, and followed our instructions for medications to a T. I would definitely recommend to book with her!”

“Shawna did a wonderful job caring for my cat, Dobby, while I was away for work. She and her kids are great with animals and they made sure Dobby received all the love while I was gone. Dobby is older and has some required special care and I always felt he was in good hands in Shawna. I will be booking her again in the future!”

“Alyssa is fantastic as always!! I have been a frequent flyer the last six months of this year! Lol Alyssa is always prompt with her responses and I always come back to pets who are happy and healthy! Definitely would recommend Alyssa for all your pet sitting needs!”

“Avery is a fabulous dog sitter. She has a natural gentle way with my pups. She kept me well updated on their activities and we came back from our trip with a sense of peace knowing they were in her care.”

About: I have 3 years of professional experience working in the animal industry and currently work at a veterinary hospital, where I provide hands-on care to a variety of pets every day. My experience has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, safety, and the individual needs of different pets. I’m comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including pets who may require extra patience, medication, or specialized care. Working in a veterinary environment has also taught me how to recognize changes in behavior or health and respond appropriately when a pet may not be feeling their best. When caring for your pets, my priority is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. I understand that every pet is different, and I’m happy to follow detailed instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and other specific needs. You can feel confident knowing that your pets are in the care of someone with professional animal-care experience who genuinely enjoys helping animals and treating every pet as if they were my own. Depending on my schedule I work from 7am - 3pm or 8am - 5pm, before or after my regular job I am free to hang out with your fuzzy guy! I care for pets in my clients’ homes by keeping them comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow each pet’s individual care instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while their owners are away. With 3 years of experience in the animal industry and my current work at a veterinary hospital, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of personalities and needs. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, energy levels, or other signs that something may be wrong, and I communicate with the owner promptly if I have any concerns. I also treat my clients’ homes with the same respect and care I give their pets, keeping things clean and secure and providing updates so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.
“Super reliable and very friendly to us and our pup! Really appreciate the efforts during our initial meetings to make sure our buddy was comfortable. Now they are like old friends and it’s only been a few visits!”

About: I have been taking care of all kinds of animals from dogs and cats to birds and horses since I was a young girl. My neighbors have trusted me with pet care for years. I most recently have been working for a pet sitting company in North Carolina before moving to Virginia and received multiple five star reviews. I can assure you your pets will be well taken care of as I treat them as they are my own. I currently have a full time job with two to three full days off and lots of flexibility during the mornings and late evenings to stop in and do visits. I care for pets in my client’s home and I treat them as my own by making sure they get plenty of attention and playtime. Cheyanne B did a great job taking care of my two cats. She either texted me or sent me a photo each day and told me how they were doing. One of my cats is very shy and made sure to spend time with her while sitting in the same room. Everything in my house was clean and tidy.
Paityn did a great job with my kitties. she sent a report every time she visited the house. our one cat's insulin was administered properly. and as a bonus she brought in our mail and packages AND put away our trash can. The cats seemed content and happy when we returned home. I would hire her again.

Savannah was a wonderful cat sitter! She was reliable, responsive, and genuinely caring with Hobbes. We especially appreciated the photos and updates she sent, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your cat with kindness and attention, we highly recommend Savannah.

Hope was amazing - I’ll never book anyone else as long as she’s available! She sent timely, detailed updates and I had no doubt that my cat was in good hands. My cat got into a bit of mischief while I was gone, and Hope went above and beyond to make sure my cat was unharmed and well taken care of. Thank you Hope!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Eustis. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
