“Cheyanne was very kind and considerate. She took the time to answer questions I had and she did a wonderful job with our baby. I would absolutely recommend her and we will contact her if we're in the area again.”

“We had a great experience with Qasheedra. From the moment we met, she and her family were warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. She took the time to understand my dogs’ needs and routine, which really put me at ease. My dog came back happy, relaxed, and well cared for — I couldn’t ask for more. I’ll definitely be booking again. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m Andrea, and I’ve been caring for dogs for over 15 years, starting when I was 11 years old. My experience started with my aunt’s two Shih Tzus, whom I helped care for from puppyhood until they passed away from old age. Since then, dogs have always been a big part of my life. I currently have three dogs back in my home country and a mini Labradoodle named Ember here in the US. Over the years, I’ve cared for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, including giving oral medications and supporting daily routines. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, and basic training. I enjoy teaching simple commands because it helps build trust and confidence between dogs and their environment. I treat every dog with patients, care, and respect as part of my own family. I have a flexible daily routine that allows me to be present and attentive to pets throughout the day. I am able to provide regular potty breaks, walks, and supervised playtime based on each dog’s needs. I am generally home for most of the day, and my schedule allows me to check on pets frequently and maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide care in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly apartment designed to help dogs feel safe and comfortable. I only accept one client or one family at a time to ensure a low-stress environment and close supervision. All pets are introduced slowly and carefully, and interactions with my dog Ember are always supervised. If needed, pets can be separated to ensure they feel comfortable and secure at all times. Because my home has carpeted flooring, I only accept dogs that are reliably house-trained. This helps maintain a clean and comfortable space for all pets in my care. The environment in structured to allow dogs to rest, relax, and adjust comfortably while still having a safe and supervised space throughout their stay.
“Sam did a wonderful job taking care of Skye!!! We know it isn’t easy but she did it and he is very relaxed when we picked him up which doesn’t always happen..thank you and we’ll see you soon!!”

“I bring my 13 year old beagle to Elizabeth weekly. He has serious anxiety problems, but loves going to her house. She always responds to my doggy day care requests immediately. I highly recommend her, if you’re looking for a dog sitter.”
“Elisabeth was great with my Goldendoodle. We were racing at the dragstrip, had our dog with us &wanted to go have some fun on Fremont street. Elisabeth met us & dog sitted for us. Dixie felt very comfortable going with her & was happy when we met to pick her up! I would definitely have her watch our girl again! Highly recommend!”

“OMG, after meeting Alberto and his mother my heart smiled! I am a NEW pet parent and i LOVE my fur baby! They treated her as of she was their fur baby!! Alberto is so aweet, gentle, kind and patient. He sent me photos and a video throughout the day! I WILL be using him again!!!”

“Michelle is the best. My dog loves going to her house to play with his friends and have fun. He comes back tired and happy every time I drop him off. Michelle and her family take great care of my dog, and they are very accommodating. Definitely recommend”

About: Ever since I was a little girl, I've adored animals. Growing up I've owned a ton of animals such as rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, cats, and dogs. Throughout all those years of taking care of my pets, I have learned the highest standards and provide exceptional quality of pet care. I have working experience being a kennel attendant and vet assistant at veterinary clinics. I have worked with a big variety of different dog/cat breeds and temperaments so I'm very comfortable with all dogs and cats no matter their shape or size! Working as a kennel attendant and vet assistant also has allowed me to properly care for senior or special-needs dogs and cats. I'm currently taking time off work to focus on school as I'm studying animal/agricultural sciences. I have more than plenty of time on my hands so I'm able to give the best care to your pup or kitty! I live in an apartment and have plenty of unfenced yard space, in addition to also having two dog parks inside my neighborhood if dog parks are you & your pup's kinda thing! I also own an SUV and live near the Noland trail and would love to take your pup on a walk there if that is something you would be interested in! I have a variety of toys that are good for mental stimulation - for cats and dogs! I can also provide food/water bowls & leashes. *NOTE*: I do live on a 3rd floor apartment building, I have no problem carrying your dog up the stairs if it is necessary (under 50lbs). I also own rodents- However they are caged and should not worry about your pet getting access to them.
“Jessica is the best! She accepted my request with less than 24 hours notice. She then worked with me when I needed to extend his pickup time. I always know that my puppy is in good hands with her and will have the time of his life running around. She will always be my number one pick for my puppy”

Lauryn and her family was amazing to my baby! I can't thank her enough. I was so nervous about leaving Dutchess due to this was her first time being away from me. I visited several different facility, and felt like that wouldn't be the best care for Dutchess. I loved that Lauryn coordinator with me to do a meet and greet. Lauryn was also flexible and willing to working with my time schedule. She and her family was so attentive, gentle, patience, and careful with Dutchess. They made this decision easy for me, giving me peace of mind and comfort. While Dutchess was in her care she provided regular updates on my baby. I'm was so pleased and happy to know Dutchess was in the best care. I'm definitely going to continue to book Lauryn every time and become a regular. Thank you and your family again for being so amazing 💕

Luisa was GREAT! Nikki can be a little shy but she went straight to Luisa. I could tell Nikki was comfortable around her. :) Luisa was responsive, flexibile and very friendly! If I’m ever in the area I would definitely use her again! I loved the pictures she sent while Nikki was with her.
Our two dogs stayed at Melissa's for part of two days. On the second day they entered comfortably and seemed relaxed. The seemed comfortable with Melissa's dogs. They were of course glad to see us at the end of each day. Melissa was very careful about having dogs on leash before front doors were opened. and always had everything ready for us when we picked up. Melissa had a back yard where they I assume could go out when they wished. I assume that they did not have walks, as there was a back yard.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
