This family takes great care of our pup. When I pulled into the drive and Rosy recognized where we were, she was super excited! They love her and Rosy loves them right back!

About: Hi! I’m Andrea, and I’ve been caring for dogs for over 15 years, starting when I was 11 years old. My experience started with my aunt’s two Shih Tzus, whom I helped care for from puppyhood until they passed away from old age. Since then, dogs have always been a big part of my life. I currently have three dogs back in my home country and a mini Labradoodle named Ember here in the US. Over the years, I’ve cared for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, including giving oral medications and supporting daily routines. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, and basic training. I enjoy teaching simple commands because it helps build trust and confidence between dogs and their environment. I treat every dog with patients, care, and respect as part of my own family. I have a flexible daily routine that allows me to be present and attentive to pets throughout the day. I am able to provide regular potty breaks, walks, and supervised playtime based on each dog’s needs. I am generally home for most of the day, and my schedule allows me to check on pets frequently and maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide care in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly apartment designed to help dogs feel safe and comfortable. I only accept one client or one family at a time to ensure a low-stress environment and close supervision. All pets are introduced slowly and carefully, and interactions with my dog Ember are always supervised. If needed, pets can be separated to ensure they feel comfortable and secure at all times. Because my home has carpeted flooring, I only accept dogs that are reliably house-trained. This helps maintain a clean and comfortable space for all pets in my care. The environment in structured to allow dogs to rest, relax, and adjust comfortably while still having a safe and supervised space throughout their stay.

Look no further for pet care! We found Christene after having a horrible experience at a different doggy daycare business. We are so glad we did! Our 4 year old chocolate lab loved spending the day at Christene’s and came home happy/perfectly tired. We will be using her again!

We had a great experience with Qasheedra. From the moment we met, she and her family were warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. She took the time to understand my dogs’ needs and routine, which really put me at ease. My dog came back happy, relaxed, and well cared for — I couldn’t ask for more. I’ll definitely be booking again. Highly recommend!

I could rave about how absolutely amazing Samantha was with my Khaleesi for hours, but I’ll keep it short for reading purposes. My dog Khaleesi is a high anxiety dog and does not do well with strangers and typically hides from them. Samantha had her during the day for 3 days, and from day 1 Khaleesi took right to her. It did take some warming up time, but Samantha kept me very updated and sent pictures throughout the day. By the end of the 3 days, Khaleesi was walking into Samantha’s house without hesitation and didn’t even turn around to look at me. Samantha is incredible and I highly recommend her!!!!

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been my passion. I have hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, pigs, reptiles, birds, and even marine mammals such as dolphins and sea lions. I worked as a veterinary nurse for six years, so I have the knowledge and experience to recognize your pet’s individual needs and provide attentive, compassionate care. Whether your pet is young, senior, energetic, shy, or has special medical needs, you can trust that they will be treated like family while they’re in my care. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing a safe, loving, and reliable environment where your pet feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I currently work remotely and have a flexible schedule to work with you and your pets needs. I can pop in when needed or can be available for pet sitting. Whatever your pet may need I can cater to. Whether it be walks, jogs, feeding, playing, medication administration or even pet sitting, I'm your gal.

About: I have volunteered at the local shelters since I was 9 years old. I am in school for my vet technician degree currently. I have worked at a pet store. I am doing an externship with a local vet as well. I am currently working part-time at the aquarium. I am also doing an externship with a local vet. I am in school for my marine biology bachelor's and veterinary science associate. I love all animals, and having three little fur babies, I would treat your baby no different than mine. I will always follow all the rules that are set by the owner. If I have any questions I will not hesitate to ask them. I will always keep the owner up to date as to what is going on to the best of my ability.

About: I grew up taking care of dogs in my neighborhood as a kid and teenager. I have always had a big love for furr animals! I work a very flexible schedule during the week that allows me to have last minute changes or needs to take care of if need be! My wife is also home with our toddler, so dogs are almost always with company. I live in a quiet apartment complex with not a lot of traffic, but lots of walking trails and a dog park that my dog Koda enjoys!

Scott is absolutely great - and our beagle loves going over there to hangout with their kids. We’ve only used them for daycare so far, but it’s great to know she’s happy and safe!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 414 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Yorktown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Yorktown commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 414 sitters in Yorktown, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
