“Simply put, Rodney was over-the-top phenomenal. He seemed to know, inherently, that we were worried sick over leaving our 3 fur babies alone for 4 days. His detailed and inclusive daily notes and pictures gave us a piece of mind we were not expecting but were so grateful to have. He spent time with our dogs, fed them (sometimes by hand when necessary), played with them, sat and pet/groomed them twice a day and they quickly took to him. And these dogs rarely take to anyone new. He definitely has the Midas touch. We are rebooking with (only) Rodney again in December. Honestly, we couldn’t imagine leaving our keys with anyone else.”

“Alyssa always does a great job!! My boys are well cared for and happy when I return! Alyssa also goes above and beyond by giving me heads up while I'm gone about packages/notices from my apt complex! I appreciate it!”

“Hillary has been a wonderful person to work with and the dogs enjoy her visits. Great communication and updates on each of the visits. We have been a repeat customer of hers and feel like she is more of an extension of our family. Great personality with a genuine loving care towards animals.”

“Super reliable and very friendly to us and our pup! Really appreciate the efforts during our initial meetings to make sure our buddy was comfortable. Now they are like old friends and it’s only been a few visits!”

“I’m absolutely never worried about my cats with Kathy on the job! Even my shy girl loves her, which is a hard thing to accomplish! She’s awesome, highly recommended :)”

“Thank you for taking care of my babies while I was away. Stephanie was able to squeeze me in with very short notice and was very punctual in the agreed on times. She sent me updates on the pets and the house, and I felt at ease the entire time.”

“Avery is a fabulous dog sitter. She has a natural gentle way with my pups. She kept me well updated on their activities and we came back from our trip with a sense of peace knowing they were in her care.”

“Savannah was a wonderful cat sitter! She was reliable, responsive, and genuinely caring with Hobbes. We especially appreciated the photos and updates she sent, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your cat with kindness and attention, we highly recommend Savannah.”

“Monica was great! She left detailed reports on how my two cats did while I was away, and was available on short notice. The pictures were lovely, and plenty were taken.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was in 7th grade (now a recent college graduate!!) and am looking to start searching for clients consistently again. I’ve watched over cats and dogs and also have experience with with both species that required medication. Growing up with two diabetic cats (and then some) allowed me to learn how to administer insulin by myself and how to administer pills. Being able to trust someone with your pet is hard and knowing they’re in good hands is a huge stress reliever. My goal is to not only to watch over and care for your pet(s), but to take the weight off your shoulders when you aren’t able to be home with them. I am currently looking for a full time job and being a pet sitter will allow me to earn a little extra on the side. I do not board pets as I don't have a current permanent residence of my own (living with my partner and their family), but am more than willing to stay overnight in a clients home. I ensure safety by checking in on a clients pet regularly should I not be needed 24/7 and make sure to not only watch, but care for the clients pet. My visits (when sleeping over isn’t required) typically range from 1 hour or a little over to be able to spend quality time with a clients pet(s), especially when the owner is gone for a longer period of time.
“Heather was great! All planned drop ins were completed at the times requested and she was very flexible to updates and the needs of our pups. Will use again! Thanks!!!!!”

“Elizabeth has done an amazing job caring for Moses! She goes above and beyond a simple drop in by taking him for a nice walk and playing with him while making sure to take plenty of pictures. If you are looking for someone to care for your pet Elizabeth is the best!”

“Brian is wonderful!!! Very caring and taking the extra mile to take wonderful care of my elderly dog! I can’t say enough wonderful things about their love for animals in taking care of them!”

About: I have broad experience in general pet care, including several years caring for my own pets. I’ve worked professionally with both cats and dogs in a pet salon, owned and cared for small pets, and have experience walking dogs through Rover, providing reliable exercise and attentive care. I’m also a pescatarian, which reflects my mindful and compassionate approach to animal care and wellbeing. 🐾❤️ I’m not naturally a morning person, but I’m willing to work early when needed. I can walk to nearby houses in the morning and afternoon, and I have additional availability to drive to more distant locations later in the day. Please keep this in mind when scheduling visits. I care for pets by following their routines, providing feeding, play, exercise, and attention. Whether in my home or the client’s, I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for.

“Catherine was fantastic! She provided drop in care for my fur baby while I was away and kept me updated on how Sophie was doing. It gave me tremendous peace of mind to know she was well taken care of in my absence.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
