Your dogs other best friend!Virginia beach, VA

Dog enthusiast and certified dog trainer, currently providing dog walking and leash manners. I am ready to open my home to your furry family member, and give you peace of mind while you are away. I will provide a safe and loving environment, free from stress for your favorite pal! Playtime and regular walks are provided. Your dog will never be just locked in a crate all day. In the event that I need to separate dogs, a crate may be used as a safety tool. I strive to make all dogs feel comfortable and welcome in my home. Safety is my number one concern, so I do separate dogs for meal times. I also have the ability to separate small and big dogs in the yard for playtime.

*pickup and drop off times are as follows :weekdays* 7:30-9:30 am and 4-8pm* you must make an appointment within those times for pickup and drop off. weekends: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 8am-8 pm**** I also ask that you always message me before your pick up or drop off, so I am able to safely bring your dog outside or inside without excitement for the other dogs that are staying.

Dog loving, home full time!Norfolk, VA

I have had animals as long as I can remember. I grew up in a pet friendly home. We had chickens, dogs, birds and even several box trained bunnies. Our animals are an extension of our family. We are a military family. I am currently a stay at home, homeschooling mom of five children. Because we are home all day our dogs get lots of love and attention. We love to go on walks and play at the beach. Our home is pet friendly and we're flexible! We have plenty of love to go around but my children know how to give animals their space as well. We would love the opportunity to love on your dog.

My hours for drop off and pick up are between 9am and 10pm. I can't do early morning drop offs so if you need to leave early, I just ask that you drop off your fur babies the night before instead.

All breeds welcome! No restrictionsVirginia Beach, VA

Bookings are being accepted though we are not doing meet and greets at this time or allowing people in home.

---------------------

*** NOTICE ***

ALL dogs MUST be LEASHED when entering and exiting the property. No exceptions and no excuses.

-----------------------

I work from home and devote all my time to caring for my pets, including others. All dogs are welcome, even those that might come with a higher level of needs such as elderly with medications or even those with behavioral problems. All care is 100% one on one, ensuring that every dog gets the personalized care that they need and deserve.

We live in a 3 bedroom house with a fenced in back yard and room to run! We pride ourselves in keeping everything clean, fresh, and tidy. Even with the many dogs that come through every week!

Most dogs are not kenneled when here, however if your dog has anxiety when alone, is destructive, or still housebreaking then crates are available. The dogs are kept in groups and personalities matched, not necessarily size. If requested then your dog(s) can also be kept away from all others. We have plenty of space and rotate groups so everyone gets to be involved.

When we leave the house I do kennel or separate dogs in the house. I don't leave any dogs together just as a precaution. You never know what can happen! Although they typically aren't alone even when I'm gone, and if no one is home its never for long.

I stay pretty busy and there are always dogs here. So if you are uncomfortable with other dogs being in the house or with your dog being around other dogs, then this might not be the best fit for you. Also keep in mind that even though there are other dogs, your dog is NOT required to get along with every dog here. I don't push dogs together for the sake of being together, and if your dog is too nervous, shy, over excited, or anxious then I can make them more comfortable away from the stress of others. Dogs are always given some time to settle in and adjust before being introduced to another dog. This also gives me some time to judge your dogs character and personality in order to best match them in a group or with other dogs.

We all have a lot of fun here and I hope to see you and your little fur baby soon!

------------------------------------------------------

When dropping off your pet for an overnight stay there are a few things you'll need to bring.

- Enough food for your pet to last the length of the stay

- Food bowl

- Any medications

- Leash (NO RETRACTABLE LEADS)

- Collar with tags (including name and number on tags)

- Copy of current vet records

ALL dogs must be current on flea/tick preventative AND have been dewormed in the past 3 weeks before coming for a stay. If worms or fleas are found the owner will be required to get appropriate treatment before the pet is allowed to return. If found to have worms, a veterinarian must provide written letter giving clean bill of health and date/results of last fecal test must be provided.

***Important note about collars***

ALL dogs MUST have a collar with tags attached to it. Those tags MUST have an up to date phone number on them. If your dog uses a harness or any other type of removable collar they MUST ALSO have a collar present around their neck at all times, even if tags are present on the harness. Collar must also be properly fitted. If it slides over the dogs head then it must be adjusted. Dogs without tags or collar are to the owners risk. I've never lost a dog or had one escape the yard, hopefully I never will, but the tags and collar make identification easier. I typically take harnesses off when inside or in the yard. So if your dog isn't wearing a collar with tags they have NO identification.

We accept intact dogs at an adjusted rate. Please message me for more info on pricing.

------------------------------------------------------

Please read everything above thoroughly. Take note of my refund policy. During the months of June, July, and August all drop off times must be arranged 3 days in advance before your drop off date. If late to your drop off by more than 10 minutes there is a fee of $20. Non-negotiable.

------------------------------------------------------

**Disclaimer** This is a lot of information. Some people might find it a bit much, however if you care about your dog(s) as much as I care about mine, then you understand the necessity of it all. All information is in place to help you, prepare you for their stay, and keep your dogs safe and comfortable while here.

------------------------------------------------------

*****Health Notice*****

If your dog is vomiting, has bad diarrhea, or seems lethargic please KEEP THEM HOME. If your dog is exhibing any of the above symptoms while here they will be quarantined and sent home immediately and if that's not possible your emergency contact will be notified as well as Rover and an alternative sitter with no dogs will be found immediately. Vet care will be provided if not picked up in a timely manner.

Let your pet be like family to me!Norfolk, VA

I have had animals all my life. Most animals take to me very easily. My husband says I'm another dog whisperer.

My pet now, Maggie, has diabetes. She has had it for a little over a year. This makes me well versed in the administration of injected medication. I also understand the importance of a very scheduled and portioned feeding plan.

I have a large fenced I yard and also a screened in back porch. The animals will be able to go out as much as they like as long as the weather permits. We live in nice neighborhood with good sidewalks. At your discretion we can go on several small walks, play in the yard, and play in the sprinkler in the warm weather.

Great care will be taken to respect your wishes when it comes to your loved on.

I do have to add that while I will be able to check in on your feline friends I will not be able to have them in my home.

Stay at home mom who adores dogs!Virginia Beach, VA

Hi, I am a single mom of three boys, two dogs (a 3 year old Golden Retriever and an 8 year old Pappy/Pom mix. Both are VERY friendly and love to play with other dogs. I work from home, so if your wonderful pooch suffers separation anxiety, he won't have any around here. I consider my dogs to be just furry members of our family. We try to take them where ever we go. They love to go to the beach in the evenings or down to the park at the end of the street. I'm also an avid walker, so you can be guaranteed that they will get some exercise with me.

One of the things Roscoe our Golden LOVES to do is swim in our inground pool out back. So if your dog is a water dog, I'm sure he will love to play in the pool with my kids and our own dog

Walk & play at the bay!Northwest, Virginia Beach, VA

I've been taking care of animals, both my own and watching others' animals, for about 20 years now. I have a weimaraner who has extreme energy, so I'm prepared for any dog (or cat) that comes into my care. There's a doggie door that leads to my fenced in backyard, to allow for free flow in and out of the house. When the sun's out, we're out! I live at Chick's Beach, so walks to the water to swim and play are almost everyday. I'm achieving my professional ball throwing skill as well during these walks ;-) When your fur baby is here, it'll be like they're home and given the up most care to feel spoiled. I can't get enough of animals, so what better way than to watch and take care of yours!!

love having your pup be my pup!Va Beach, VA

I've owned dogs all my life and really miss having one, and after I lost my beagle mix two years ago, I really wanted to get another dog, but my fiancé reminded me of our active life and the numerous trips we take. His daughter suggested I look into Rover, and I realized this is the best of both worlds! I never would have guessed I would love dog sitting as much as I do, and I have met some of the best people and pets. Haven't met a dog yet that I didn't enjoy having in my home and feel so fortunate to be able to share your pups for a few days. It's a win-win for me-plenty of time with pups, but still able to head off when we want to. Rover is the best thing to happen to me in a long time!

Pups Home Away from Homevirginia Beach, VA

**About me**

(Please note that I am sadly not available, for walks and drop-ins, during VB school district hours. Walks and drop-ins can be done case by case in the AM and after 4pm, hours are flexible during holidays and weekends)

I'm a Retired Navy wife, a Teacher, and a mother of 2 young teenagers, with 1 dog and 2 cats. All our pets are rescue animals that we got as puppies and kittens, so the experience of training is there. I grew up all my life with pets from cats, dogs, fishes, and I even use to breed and raise gerbils. As a former military family I also know the need to find a reliable an inexpensive pet sitter and have watched many of my friends pets either in our homes or in theirs. Our dog love when her friends come over or when she's making new friends.

**About my home/services**

We own our home and see our pets more like family members. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to play and lounge around, your pet will certainly feel at home. All pets will be supervised and well loved. I'm willing to help train, walk, brush, care for your fur baby as I would my own.

***Boarding Hours: Drops off and Pick ups are between 7am to 8pm with some flexibility.

In home check ins hours: between 6am to 10pm. Each visit is a 30 min. minimum per visit; sometimes a little longer if the pet and I are in an intense game of fetch or kitty snuggles with a good book and I must finish my chapter I'm reading.

You may also find me on Instagram, and I just started a Facebook page at #Pupshomeawayfromhome. I love to brag about my amazing furry clients.

“JUST A GUY AND HIS DOGS.”Norfolk, VA

In 2013, I retired after 20 years of service in the Navy as a BMC. After I retired, I started looking for my next great adventure. I tried a number of different things, but nothing seemed to fit. Then one day while sitting on the side of a mountain. I started having a conversation with my dogs (don’t laugh, you know you do it too).

“What do I want to do, and what makes me happy?”

As if on que, Milo licked me and Sam put her paw on my arm and looked at me as if to say, “HELLO, you want to hang out with us as much as we want to hang out with you.”

Me: “True, I love hiking, hanging out and doing stuff with you guys.”

Milo: “So why not make us your next adventure.”

Me: “Hmmm…. maybe, but you guys drive me crazy.”

Sam and Milo: “Yeah, but that’s our job. Your job is to teach us how to be better with humans and other dogs. Think about how much you hate it when other dogs are acting crazy, and get up in our Kool aid or when we act up.”

Me. “True.”

Sam, “So, why not find a way to help us and them have better manners.”

When I got back home I talked to my wife about it and she agreed that I needed a change. It was pretty obvious to everyone that I was not happy. So, I started learning more about dog behavior and training methodologies. Then she finally told me to stop procrastinating and go for it… I did and the rest is history.

We've had dogs for most of our married life of over 27 years and we grew up with them. We have three dogs of our own that are well behaved, most of the time.

All our dogs are rescues, they are fully vaccinated and microchipped. We worked as a foster family for a rescue in Hampton, for about a year. We stopped because we needed to be able to train our young dogs before we took any others, plus

ABOUT OUR DOGS:

Lou is a Chihuahua mix. he is about 17 years old I found him during Katrina my ship was deployed to New Orleans for the relief effort. A veterinarian came down from Alabama to do checkups on all the dogs the ship had rescued, and was able to take him with her. Michelle drove 18 hours round trip to Alabama to get him. He is a grumpy old man.

Sam, Samantha, is almost 4 years old she’s an Australian Shepherd/ retriever mix, according to the vet. She was picked up as a stray in N.C. with her sister that’s all I know about her. We foster her for about a week before adopting her, although we were pretty sure that we were keeping her after 10 minutes she is kind of affectionate.

Milo is around 3.5 and a Husky-Corgi mix, I don’t see the corgi anywhere. He was turned into a shelter somewhere in the western part of N.C. We fostered him for about 2 weeks before adopting him, it took him a while to open up. He has always been very shy, leery of strangers and very vocal, he is an all or nothing kind of guy.

We do have a YouTube channel, "Just a Guy and His Dogs.”

HOW WE SEE OUR JOB:

• To walk or board your dog along with helping reinforce their training during those times. (basic commands as prescribed by you, along with ensuring they are respectful to others.)

• We do not let him/ her just run amuck.

• We believe a tired dog is a happy dog.

• We believe dogs, like people, need exercise (adventure), discipline, and affection.

• We believe a well-trained dog makes for a happy owner and dog. We will do my best to aid you in that aspect.

The Best Care for Your Best Friend!Norfolk, VA

I have had large dogs since I was a young boy growing up on a farm. Some of the things I used to do for the farm was to groom all the animals that we had. I know I will be able to handle larger breeds because one of the animals was horses. If I can handle a two ton animal anything under is pretty easy. I am also used to taking care of smaller ones from dog sitting for my family with chihuahuas. I am currently the owner of a Siberian Husky puppy who loves to play with others. I also have a nice house with a large garage for rainy days and a good sized fenced in yard. Please come see us today!
