Your dogs other best friend!Virginia beach, VA

Dog enthusiast and certified dog trainer, currently providing dog walking and leash manners. I am ready to open my home to your furry family member, and give you peace of mind while you are away. I will provide a safe and loving environment, free from stress for your favorite pal! Playtime and regular walks are provided. Your dog will never be just locked in a crate all day. In the event that I need to separate dogs, a crate may be used as a safety tool. I strive to make all dogs feel comfortable and welcome in my home. Safety is my number one concern, so I do separate dogs for meal times. I also have the ability to separate small and big dogs in the yard for playtime.

*pickup and drop off times are as follows :weekdays* 7:30-9:30 am and 4-8pm* you must make an appointment within those times for pickup and drop off. weekends: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 8am-8 pm**** I also ask that you always message me before your pick up or drop off, so I am able to safely bring your dog outside or inside without excitement for the other dogs that are staying.

Dog loving, home full time!Norfolk, VA

I have had animals as long as I can remember. I grew up in a pet friendly home. We had chickens, dogs, birds and even several box trained bunnies. Our animals are an extension of our family. We are a military family. I am currently a stay at home, homeschooling mom of five children. Because we are home all day our dogs get lots of love and attention. We love to go on walks and play at the beach. Our home is pet friendly and we're flexible! We have plenty of love to go around but my children know how to give animals their space as well. We would love the opportunity to love on your dog.

My hours for drop off and pick up are between 9am and 10pm. I can't do early morning drop offs so if you need to leave early, I just ask that you drop off your fur babies the night before instead.

All breeds welcome! No restrictionsVirginia Beach, VA

---------------------

*** NOTICE ***

ALL dogs MUST be LEASHED when entering and exiting the property. No exceptions and no excuses.

-----------------------

I work from home and devote all my time to caring for my pets, including others. All dogs are welcome, even those that might come with a higher level of needs such as elderly with medications or even those with behavioral problems. All care is 100% one on one, ensuring that every dog gets the personalized care that they need and deserve.

We live in a 3 bedroom house with a fenced in back yard and room to run! We pride ourselves in keeping everything clean, fresh, and tidy. Even with the many dogs that come through every week!

Most dogs are not kenneled when here, however if your dog has anxiety when alone, is destructive, or still housebreaking then crates are available. The dogs are kept in groups and personalities matched, not necessarily size. If requested then your dog(s) can also be kept away from all others. We have plenty of space and rotate groups so everyone gets to be involved.

When we leave the house I do kennel or separate dogs in the house. I don't leave any dogs together just as a precaution. You never know what can happen! Although they typically aren't alone even when I'm gone, and if no one is home its never for long.

I stay pretty busy and there are always dogs here. So if you are uncomfortable with other dogs being in the house or with your dog being around other dogs, then this might not be the best fit for you. Also keep in mind that even though there are other dogs, your dog is NOT required to get along with every dog here. I don't push dogs together for the sake of being together, and if your dog is too nervous, shy, over excited, or anxious then I can make them more comfortable away from the stress of others. Dogs are always given some time to settle in and adjust before being introduced to another dog. This also gives me some time to judge your dogs character and personality in order to best match them in a group or with other dogs.

We all have a lot of fun here and I hope to see you and your little fur baby soon!

------------------------------------------------------

When dropping off your pet for an overnight stay there are a few things you'll need to bring.

- Enough food for your pet to last the length of the stay

- Food bowl

- Any medications

- Leash (NO RETRACTABLE LEADS)

- Collar with tags (including name and number on tags)

- Copy of current vet records

ALL dogs must be current on flea/tick preventative AND have been dewormed in the past 3 weeks before coming for a stay. If worms or fleas are found the owner will be required to get appropriate treatment before the pet is allowed to return. If found to have worms, a veterinarian must provide written letter giving clean bill of health and date/results of last fecal test must be provided.

***Important note about collars***

ALL dogs MUST have a collar with tags attached to it. Those tags MUST have an up to date phone number on them. If your dog uses a harness or any other type of removable collar they MUST ALSO have a collar present around their neck at all times, even if tags are present on the harness. Collar must also be properly fitted. If it slides over the dogs head then it must be adjusted. Dogs without tags or collar are to the owners risk. I've never lost a dog or had one escape the yard, hopefully I never will, but the tags and collar make identification easier. I typically take harnesses off when inside or in the yard. So if your dog isn't wearing a collar with tags they have NO identification.

We accept intact dogs at an adjusted rate. Please message me for more info on pricing.

------------------------------------------------------

Please read everything above thoroughly. Take note of my refund policy. During the months of June, July, and August all drop off times must be arranged 3 days in advance before your drop off date. If late to your drop off by more than 10 minutes there is a fee of $20. Non-negotiable.

------------------------------------------------------

**Disclaimer** This is a lot of information. Some people might find it a bit much, however if you care about your dog(s) as much as I care about mine, then you understand the necessity of it all. All information is in place to help you, prepare you for their stay, and keep your dogs safe and comfortable while here.

------------------------------------------------------

*****Health Notice*****

If your dog is vomiting, has bad diarrhea, or seems lethargic please KEEP THEM HOME. If your dog is exhibing any of the above symptoms while here they will be quarantined and sent home immediately and if that's not possible your emergency contact will be notified as well as Rover and an alternative sitter with no dogs will be found immediately. Let your pet be like family to me!Norfolk, VA

I have had animals all my life. Most animals take to me very easily. My husband says I'm another dog whisperer.

Our previous pet, Maggie, had diabetes. She had it for a little over a year before she passed away. This makes me well versed in the administration of injected medication. I also understand the importance of a very scheduled and portioned feeding plan.

We now have another Australian Cattle dog named Coraline. She is 3 years old and loves to have visitors.

I have a large fenced I yard . Our visiting pups will be able to go out as much as they like as long as the weather permits. We live in nice neighborhood with good sidewalks. At your discretion we can go on several small walks, play in the yard, and play in the sprinkler in the warm weather.

Great care will be taken to respect your wishes when it comes to your loved on.

I do have to add that while I will be able to check in on your feline friends I will not be able to have them in my home.

Fun and Love for All PetsNorfolk, VA

****Important Info**** (updated 6/1)

I am in the process of relocating. I hope to be set up in Mystic CT as of mid July. I will miss all of my Norfolk clients dearly.

Having pets myself and loving to travel I fully understand the need for petsitting. We are a military family stationed away from our parents and other family members. Our trips home are extremely stressful for my Little Man (big male cat). He gets horrible anxiety anytime we travel and it's heartbreaking for me. I have realized that despite my own personal anxiety when I have to leave them overnight, having a petsitter is much less stressful on my fur babies. I will do anything I can to make you and your pet feel comfortable in the process of having to leave them for an extended period of time.

I can promise your pet will be by my side and receive my full attention. We have no children (other than our furry kitty babies). I will play with your pet, love it, and take care of it as if it were my own.

For pets staying in my home: if a client is concerned about how their pup may be around cats; I have a lot of experience in introducing dogs to cats. My cats are very used to dogs after so many years of me fostering and pet sitting. I have kept several dogs in the past that were a little overly excited around the cats and also dogs that may not have liked the cats very much. If this does happen to be the case, my kitty fur babies are always happy to board in our extra room for the duration of the stay. Everything has always worked out very well and many owners have learned that their pups do much better than what they expected when meeting cats for the first time!

About this sitter:

Whatever you and your pet need me to do I will do it. I realize it can be stressful for pets to be away from their owners. If your pet needs extra exercise I love exercising. I am a long distance runner so I am certain I can exercise as long as your pet needs or wants. If they have never slept alone before I have no problem sharing sleeping space. I also have no qualms enforcing the rules that they must abide by in your home if that means the bed is off limits. I do my best to adhere to their routine because I know that is what will keep them the happiest and most comfortable in your absence. I also send multiple pictures and updates each day so you can see that your pets are having a ton of fun during their time with me.

I have volunteered with many animal rescues and at many animal shelters in the past. I also worked at Charleston Animal Society for three years where I was able to take dog handling/interaction workshops. I have participated in seminars on how to coordinate multiple dog playgroups. My interaction with and exposure to all types of dogs and other animals is extensive after so many years in animal shelters. I have always had pets since I was very young and I am very comfortable around them and them me.

Why I love dog sitting

I have loved dogs or any type of animal for as long as I can remember. I have volunteered at shelters for many years and because I love animals so much I turned it into a career. Working at the Charleston Animal Society as an adoption counselor was a blessing. Dog sitting is also a blessing, it is hard for me to consider my job work because I enjoy walking the dogs and playing with them as well as the downtime I get to spend with them.

Meet my pets

Little Man: Turkish short hair male cat 9 years old (rescued from the streets of Istanbul)

Fergie: Turkish short hair female cat 9 years old (rescued from the streets of Istanbul)Bones: Domestic short hair male cat 5 years old (rescued and adopted in Charleston SC)

*all of my animals are vaccinated and registered. They are current on the prevention Revolution. They do not go outside.

About my yard

I do not have a yard but there are no shortage of places to walk in Mystic.

My experience administering medication

If administration is thoroughly explained I have no problems with this. I have to give my animals medication regularly and I have administered medications/vaccinations to animals on a daily basis in my time at the animal society for both cats and dogs. I also have experience administering fluids and insulin to cats.

Work From Home Navy Wife & Dog MamaPortsmouth, VA

**Please scroll down to see meet & greet requirements and special notes for our services**

Hello! Pleased to meet you. I am Megan! A little about myself, I am married to a naval officer, Brian. We both work from home these days while I run a web design company, and Brian is on his shore tour. We live in a cute, spacious cottage home on a big, corner lot in the lovely community of Waterview. We became Rover sitters about 2.5 years ago because we had such a great experience using it for our sweet Amelia, who is not cut out for typical boarding scenarios due to her anxiety. She is the most loving dog, just a little nervous. Since we are home nearly all the time, we thought hosting other pups would be an excellent fit!

We have fallen in love with watching other's furbabies and adding them to our family while their owners are on vacation. We loved it so much; we decided to add another fluff ball to our clan, Almond, who is a Cavachon puppy that doesn't know the meaning of a stranger! We believe that when a dog stays with us, they get as much access to our home and love from us as our dogs. We strive to make every dog and pet owner comfortable while a pup is with us. We know what it is like to not want to leave our dogs at a large kennel, so our goal is to make your dog feels safe and loved but at an affordable price in our home.

I also provide walks and drop-in visits as well throughout the day so that your furbaby doesn't get lonely all day long. Depending on the scheduled time, my hubs might tag along to visit or walk your sweet pup!

For all stays and visits, please contact me to set up a meetup. We would love to meet you!

**Boarding & Daycare Notes** - All first-time borders and doggy daycare clients must have a meet and greet at least 48 hours in advance of the first stay. Requests will not be accepted without it.

**Walking & Drop-in Visits** - Due to my full-time job, clients must also be in a 3-mile radius from my home in Portsmouth. (Typically a 10-minute drive without taking a toll)

love having your pup be my pup!Va Beach, VA

I've owned dogs all my life and really miss having one, and after I lost my beagle mix two years ago, I really wanted to get another dog, but my fiancé reminded me of our active life and the numerous trips we take. His daughter suggested I look into Rover, and I realized this is the best of both worlds! I never would have guessed I would love dog sitting as much as I do, and I have met some of the best people and pets. Haven't met a dog yet that I didn't enjoy having in my home and feel so fortunate to be able to share your pups for a few days. It's a win-win for me-plenty of time with pups, but still able to head off when we want to. Rover is the best thing to happen to me in a long time!

Walk & play at the bay!Northwest, Virginia Beach, VA

I've been taking care of animals, both my own and watching others' animals, for about 20 years now. I have a weimaraner who has extreme energy, so I'm prepared for any dog (or cat) that comes into my care. There's a doggie door that leads to my fenced in backyard, to allow for free flow in and out of the house. When the sun's out, we're out! I live at Chick's Beach, so walks to the water to swim and play are almost everyday. I'm achieving my professional ball throwing skill as well during these walks ;-) When your fur baby is here, it'll be like they're home and given the up most care to feel spoiled. I can't get enough of animals, so what better way than to watch and take care of yours!!
