“Discovered Laura and her helpful daughter on a last minute trip. They were great with Roxie and provided excellent communication on the drop in visits.”

“Brittany is wonderful, and always goes above and beyond to ensure my dog is happy and well taken care of. She is reliable, kind, and communicative. When my flights were canceled, she was flexible and so helpful! Would 100% recommend Brittany to care for your pet friends :)”

“Annika is an angel, and I can't express that enough! Having a new puppy while my husband is away can be a little stressful when I'm working, but Annika saves the day. She cared for my puppy, Stark, with so much love - even my other animals got love and cuddles too even though she didn't need to! She genuinely cares about your babies. She sends lots of pictures and a thorough report card at the end of each stay. I trust her so much! She also left me a sweet note and some treats for my furbabies. She's now my go-to.”

“Highly recommend! At the meet and greet she was so easy to talk to and our dog Luna loved her! While we were away I didnt worry if callie and luna were taken care of, she sent pictures of them getting all the love and attention. I think our house was cleaner than when we left too, 10/10 will be using every time we go out of town!”

“Cooper loves his walks and play time with Anastasia! Anastasia is very trustworthy and flexible with times and dates. She will be my go-to for checking on Cooper :)”

About: I’ve taken care of neighbors, friends and families dogs since I can remember. From single old pups to a house of 10 dogs and cats I’m currently off and free every Monday-Thursday after 2-3pm. Sometimes even as early as 10am. I’m open all afternoon and well into the next morning till 6am. I can only offer to take care of pets at your property, they’d rather be home anyways right? I find that animals prefer a new person in their own nest rather than in a strange new environment.
About: have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and grew up caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. Back home in Romania, I currently have two wonderful dogs—a Golden Retriever and a Dachshund—and I previously cared for a beloved Bichon throughout his entire life, including during his illness. Having dogs with such different energetic needs and health requirements has taught me how to be patient, attentive, and deeply responsible. I am used to daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, and giving pets all the love and affection they deserve. I will treat your furry family members with the exact same care and devotion as my own! I am currently a exchange student in Virginia Beach on the Work & Travel program. I have plenty of free time, especially in the afternoons and after 5 PM, as well as flexible availability on many days. This allows me to easily fit dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, or evening pet sitting into my daily routine. I am very punctual, reliable, and always ready to adjust to your pet’s needs! Safety, respect, and trust are my top priorities when caring for someone else’s pet. Since I offer services at the client's home or through neighborhood walks, I strictly follow all instructions provided by the owner regarding feeding, leashing, and house rules. I am very respectful of your home, extremely responsible with keys/access, and I always ensure doors and gates are fully secured. I also love sending photos and regular updates so you can have complete peace of mind while away!
About: Animals have always been at the heart of my life. I currently care for my own horse, two wonderful dogs, and two beloved cats, so I understand firsthand that every pet deserves individualized attention, patience, and genuine affection. As a lifelong animal lover, I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and horses of all personalities—from energetic puppies and playful kittens to senior pets and large animals. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, companionship, or simply someone to love on them while you're away, I'll care for them as if they were my own. I also have a reliable truck, my husband, Ken, will often drive so I can entertain or furry guest. If your pet needs transportation to a veterinary appointment, doggie daycare, or grooming appointment, we can help. I'm dependable, attentive, and committed to keeping your pets safe, happy, and comfortable in their familiar environment. I know how much trust it takes to leave your furry family members with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. For Ken and me, caring for animals isn't just a job-it's what brings us joy. Because I own my own business, I have more flexibility than a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. This allows me to provide reliable visits, personalized attention, and plenty of updates while you’re away. As someone who shares my home with two dogs, two cats, and my horse, Grayson, I know how much trust it takes to leave your animals in someone else’s care. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’ll treat your pets with patience, kindness, and genuine love while following their routine as closely as possible. My goal is simple: for your pets to feel safe and for you to have complete peace of mind.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Virginia Beach
Hannah was great with my Sour patch kitty, Colby. Colby is usually pretty selective, and takes time to warm up to people. She seemed to enjoy Hannah’s company more than most. Hannah provided great pics of my girl while I was on vacation. I was able to enjoy my time away without worrying too much about my Colby. Thanks Hannah!!!!

Megan is an amazing sitter! She has watched my 2 kittens in the past and does an amazing job! They both love her and are always excited to see her! On this particular visit, the original sitter that was watching them suddenly stopped showing up without notice. I reached out to Megan after Rover couldn't find another sitter and she was gracious enough to help us out!

Laura is the best! She took great care of my cats while I was on a weekend getaway. Laura is the ultimate cat whisperer — if you would like someone who not only makes sure the cats are fed and kitty litter cleaned, but goes above and beyond to spend quality time with your kitties while you’re away, I 100% recommend Laura to take care of your fur babies.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
