“Courtney is great! Very kind, compassionate and personable. She was great with our dog who is always skeptical of new people. Super patient. Looking forward to hiring her again soon!”

“I appreciate Kaitlyn taking my reservation at the last minute. My mother passed away and was able to grove without concerns about Mina. I love the Rover business model .”

“Laurelyn was an amazing sitter for our three cats! She sent updates and pictures which meant so much for us as we missed our babies. We will definitely try to book with her in the future, can’t recommend enough!!”

About: I've taken care of pets from dogs to lizards since I was 12, and have been doing drop-ins and house-sitting for family, friends, and my community for as long as I've been able to drive. I'm able to give meds for older dogs with more needs, and have trained my own dogs well in obedience training, so I have plenty of experience with a firm voice for more unruly dogs that need a little extra attention. I'm good with all animals (even the wild ones), and have experience caring for animals that need to stay separated, and am willing and able to adapt to any family I need. I currently am between jobs, the only duty I have is taking care of my own pets (amd occasionally younger siblings) so I have plenty of time to look after and care for pets I have a gentle hand and a firm voice, and have experience with obedience-training dogs particularly, and have faith in my ability to care for even the more unruly of pets. I am comfortable with crate-training and crate-trained dogs, as well as shutting them in their own room when no one is present in the home. I also have good leash experience, so walks would be easy and comfortable for me.
“Jenna was great with my puppies and rally relieved a bunch of stress for me by stopping by on a last minute request! She is reliable and respectful. Definitely would reccomend!”

About: Skills include: medication application, IV fluids, walking, playing, vet appointments, pregnancy assistance in birth, feeding, cleaning, bathing and most importantly cuddles! (Cuddles with consent of course) I have a remote job that doesn’t take up a lot of time so I am usually available and I have a love and passion for caring for animals and pets! I love animals and I had a cat named Precious for 18 years. I got a job at a vet hospital not only because I loved pets but because it was best for Precious. I was able to give her the best quality of life through my job and she sadly passed away in 2025. She was my special girl and I am ready to start caring for animals again. They matter a lot to me and I can’t bring myself to get another cat so I figured all the love and care I have in my heart, I should use it for good and help others in taking care of their precious babies. I’ve learned a lot while working at a vet hospital as well.
About: I've worked in animal welfare & shelters since 2015. I have lots of experience working with dogs and cats with various personalities and needs. I personally own 3 dogs and several cats all at various ages. One of my cats is disabled- and I've owned and worked with dogs and cats that have special needs (seziures, CH, deaf, blind), take daily medications, and possess specific breed traits/personalities that can't make them difficult to manage. Currently work remote and have a large amount of flexibility in between travel for work. I can prov8de limited boarding in home- dogs must be able to coexhist with cats, be able to be crated and/or left in a single room unattended, and be respectful of baby gates. I do have a separate space for cats that is easier to manage. Current cats in the home do free roams but there is an entire space devoted to the dogs in the home. Can crate and rotate as needed and care for up to 2 dogs if everyone can get along. In your home I prefer to stick to as close of a routine that you provide them with- from their potty breaks to morning and evening walks. Staying as consistent as possible can help provide a relaxing trip for you and your pet.
“Marvel was very reliable. We received regular updates and photos. She followed all instructions and did everything we asked of her. We were very pleased with all that she did.”

“Fabulous! She was so understanding of our labradoodle who has a licker problem and so patient with our shih tzu who is scared of strangers. She has tons of energy and my pups were very happy.”

“Renee was amazing. She gave us complete peace of mind while we were away from our babies. Our big pup can get anxious, but Renee was so great with her. And her communication was great! We miscounted the food we left and she communicated early enough that were able to order the food to the house without any interruption. Will for sure be using her for future bookings!”
“This was our second time using Danielle; this time for our dogs instead of our cats. She was phenomenal! Very punctual to the times we requested, sent super detailed updates and super cute pictures. I could tell just from the pictures that my boy was super happy and felt loved. We will definitely book her again!!”

“Barbara was very easy to talk to.She also made herself available when I needed her for a holiday. She took great care of my kitty Mo .When I need Rover again I will be sure to ask for Barbara .”

“My children can’t even give this cat his insulin! Dalenne is amazing. I feel blessed to have found her. Hoping she can help my next trip! Thanks for asking Beth Pierce”

Ashley did such an amazing job taking care of our 2 cats, Nala & Luna!! She followed my instructions for their meds & food to a T! Both cats loved her & enjoyed their extra attention, treats, & playtime while we were away for a week! Ashley also brought any mail or packages in & took our trash & recycle out to the curb on pickup day. I thoroughly enjoyed all the updates & pictures at every drop in visit! We will definitely be having Ashley watch Nala & Luna again!! :)

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hampton. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
