“Anna was awesome! She took extremely good care of Mia. She arrived at the appointed time everyday and stayed to play with my girl. Anna bonded well with Mia who is very shy until she gets used to someone. She kept me up to date with each visit with detailed information. Highly encourage anyone looking for someone to take care of your pet, Anna would be an excellent choice.”

“Tess is hands down the best dog sitter in Williamsburg and I've had several. Her Rover reports are descriptive, thorough and heartwarming, sometimes entertaining! She is understanding, professional and kind. My dog loves her and I trust her completely. What a gem, wish I could take her with me when I move out of state! Tess has lots of big dog experience and truly is a dog whisper, and her perceptiveness is off the charts for how a dog is feeling! She is the above and beyond I was looking for.... What a find- you will not find better. Williamsburg, you have the best of the best.”

“Lauren was wonderful! She had really good vibes from the beginning and did a great job with my cats. The cute pictures she took of them and the comments she left each time made my separation from my cats a little easier for me. Definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve been a dog walker and pet sitter for the past 7 years and have looked after dogs of all sizes and breeds. Im currently working remote and part time so will have lots of time to hang out with your pets! I’m super flexible and can make most times work! I always make sure to open/close the door carefully in case your fur baby is a runner, as well as make sure to use a secure leash or harness while outside!
“Craig was fantastic! He took lots of pictures and communicated really well, I felt so happy and confident knowing my pets were in great hands. He went above and beyond, I will definitely be asking for Craig’s help next time I’m out of town (-:!”

“Olivia did a great job with our senior cat. From our initial meet & greet to and throughout our trip she was kind, knowledgeable, punctual, attentive, and eager to help. We greatly appreciated her updates and photographs, reassuring us our girl was being well cared for in our absence. Many thanks to Olivia, we will definitely be calling on her again in the future.”

“Nicole was a blessing in a pinch. We needed last minute care and reached out to her. She was very responsive and replied back in a timely manner. She took such great care of our Tava. She meds sure her emotional and physical needs were met. We received so many photos when updates were sent. Each time our Tava looked happy and stimulated. We will definitely be using her services again if she is available.”

“If you want your dog to stay active and provided that human comfort during the relaxing moments then Midori is the answer. Out of the sitters on Rover & available in her area, I’d say she’s at the top. She provides plenty of exercise, not just a walk around the block or fetch for a few minutes and back inside, no, she gives your dog an enjoyable workout if they prefer that. Plus where some sitters may get complacent once inside the house, she continues to stay engaged inside by constantly communicating, cuddle with them, or playing with the toys when the dog is clearly trying to play. This made me happy to see, bc I’ve had sitters get inside and go right on their phone or tablet while my dog keeps bringing toy after toy to them dropping it on their lap, and little attention is provided. When I ask to have my dog watched, that means giving them that human interaction since I’m not there. Plus she followed all needed instructions, and most importantly IMO she was not a “clock watcher”. Wasn’t leaving early, in fact she stayed a couple minutes over a couple times which shows she’s not worried about that and truly enjoys doing this. 5+ Stars.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Williamsburg
Alex was an amazing, caring and considerate drop-in sitter for Willow during the time we were away. Willow looked fantastic upon return, and it was evident that she was well cared for. The photos and comments were appreciated and made us know that we had made the correct decision in choosing Alex as Willow's drop-in sitter. She is a kind, devoted animal loving individual, and it was a pleasure meeting her.

Midori was a wonderful cat sitter for our two cats! She sent photos/videos everyday. She spent a lot of time caring for them and playing with them! Midori was also very responsive to any text messages and questions that I had. We were very, very happy with her, and our cats were too😊. I highly recommend her!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Williamsburg. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
