“Thank You, We were stressed, with having to leave Panda (8 months old) the whole day. Allison was great, was on time for each visits, she played with Panda and Kept her safe. Highly recommend Allison to watch your pet.”

“Therese was incredible watching our two cats. She left great recaps and provided plenty of photos. One of our cats is currently on medication and she was able to administer the medication extremely well. I will absolutely be using Therese in the future.”

“Lauren was excellent. With daily updates and pics, we were never worried about our 4-legged critters. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, and we will certainly be using her services again!”
About: I have experience rescuing cats and dogs and administering medication. I’ve also done house sitting and pet sitting for several homes. I enjoy running and playing with dogs to keep them active and happy, and I can also help them stay calm when needed. I offer walks up to 1 hour and can safely handle up to 3 dogs at a time. I’m comfortable cleaning up after pets, changing diapers if needed, and giving medication. I work Mondays and Wednesday–Friday from 7 to 3, and Saturdays from 3 to 11pm. I’m free all day on Tuesdays and Sundays 😊 I adapt to each home and follow the owner’s preferences and routine for their pets. I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, whether that includes walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or keeping their space clean. I always adjust to each pet’s personality and needs.
“Lauren was wonderful! She had really good vibes from the beginning and did a great job with my cats. The cute pictures she took of them and the comments she left each time made my separation from my cats a little easier for me. Definitely recommend!”

About: I get a lot of joy from taking care of them and making them happy while getting to know their personality. I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes and energy levels! Animals are certainly a woman’s best friend! I am a current law student that will have class in the mornings and early afternoons most weekdays, but will be able to care for your pets any time outside of that! I would love to have a furry friend to walk or play with during study breaks and can’t wait to get to know your baby! My utmost priority in caring for your pets is ensuring they are as safe, comfortable and at ease as possible. Animals are so special and deserve the kindest treatment in all circumstances, even when they make a mistake. I will ask for specific preferences or instructions and follow them in regard to feeding, walking, play time, medicine, potty breaks and any form of crating. I want to help your pet as much as possible through the nerve-wracking time of being away from their owner!
“I booked Kira at the last minute for my trip, and she was flexible. She did an amazing job taking care of my dogs and followed every instruction. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her!”

“Alesscia took such great care of my babies and sent so many wonderful pictures. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care, updates, photos, and love shown to Drifter and Moscow.”

“Christina never fails to be the most competent and compassionate sitter for my pet. She is thoughtful, kind, and goes above and beyond in the care that she provides. Five stars without question!”

“Thanks Mary. Loved all the pics and looks like Beasley and Bro absolutely looked forward to you showing up each time. Appreciate your professionalism and you made us feel Very comfortable that are boys were in capable hands and very well taken care of.”

About: I have spent my whole life loving and training pets, specifically dogs and puppies. I raised a service dog and have experience fostering service dogs in training for Canine Companions for Independence. I'm a full time student at William & Mary, and I have free time in the afternoons and evenings on weekdays and the morning and afternoon on weekends. I am renting a small house next to Colonial Williamsburg. I am comfortable taking care of a dog in my home, or in your home.
“Great person to book with!!!! She took amazing care of my golden retriever and was very quick to get back with me about any questions or concerns I had. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Destiny was very nice, very helpful, and went on long walks with our shiba inu during her drop in visits. We will definitely be looking for her again when we need help watching our dog Kona.”
“Miss Genevieve was great. She arrived every day that we booked, sent me photos and communicated with me to update how the kitties were doing. It was extremely comforting having her drop in while we were away. She also retrieved an Amazon package that contained Feliway plug-in for the cats and set that up for them. Truly thankful for her services.”

“We are so grateful that we found Midori! She took such great care of my overly-anxious pups. Can’t say enough great things about her! We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I just graduated college and am now looking for ways to make cash and also have some fun! I have lived with my parents' dogs for over 10 years and cared for them, but sadly my new apartment won't allow me to get a dog of my own. I'm very active, eager to care for animals in the best way possible, and especially friendly. Dogs never cease to bring me joy, so looking after animals and walking them is a dream job. I'm willing to learn and/or follow directions and care for any special needs as best as I can. Mornings are my best time for visits but up for negotiation depending on my work schedule. In case you're wondering, that last picture I posted is a selfie with a feral pony I met on a hike, if that tells you anything about my animal interaction skills.
About: I’ve worked at a Pet Daycare and Boarding facility for about 3 years working with animals ranging in different sizes and temperaments. I also have my certification in Canine behavior to widen my knowledge on dogs. My friends and family always know they can rely on me if they needed their pet taken care of as I am usually the first person they contact. I do work overnight shifts and my Fiance works days. Someone will always be home with them! I miss working with dogs so I’d be so happy to help! I’ll be happy to play fetch or chase them around. Just let me know they’re daily routine and I’ll try to follow them as best as possible :)

Alex was an amazing, caring and considerate drop-in sitter for Willow during the time we were away. Willow looked fantastic upon return, and it was evident that she was well cared for. The photos and comments were appreciated and made us know that we had made the correct decision in choosing Alex as Willow's drop-in sitter. She is a kind, devoted animal loving individual, and it was a pleasure meeting her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
