“Having Dan care for my four cats has once again allowed me to eliminate any concerns about their care while I've been away taking care of healthcare issues for an out of town family member. It is quite a relief to know that I have such a wonderfully caring, competent and dependable sitter to rely upon while I'm away!”

“Peter was so great with our kitties! He followed our instructions perfectly and helped maintain their routines to avoid stress. They looked happy and healthy when we returned. And the house was clean too! Not even a speck of litter outside the boxes. Thank you for your attentiveness and care, Peter!”

“This was the longest trip I’ve taken, and everything went great. It’s clear that the girls were well taken care of, loved, and got the attention they need. It’s great that the house was tended to as well!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs of all shapes and sizes my entire life! I enjoy being around animals and love to take care of them. I own two female German shorthaired pointers who have TONS of energy! And that’s what I love most about them. I know how important it is to meet all animals exactly where they’re at temperament wise. I truly enjoy being around animals…more than humans sometimes! I look forward to getting to walk or play with your fur babies! I work a hybrid job, so I am remote 2-3 times a week where I am fully home all day with my pups. On the days I go into the office, my partner comes home during lunch to let our dogs out. On weekends, I am home full time as well. I have a big fenced in backyard perfect for activities! My own pups love to run around and play fetch back there. Dogs are allowed in furniture and to sleep in the bed in my house.
“Zachary was awesome! Super organized, asked all the right questions and got to know that cats and house. He genuinely cared for Bean and Tembo, showed them lots of love and played with them! I will definitely be recommending him to family and friends, and using his services the next time I'm out of town. Thank you Zach!!!”

“Victoria is great with our elder cat Lola! She is always on time and gives Lola all of the love she needs. Communication is great. We are so happy we found someone we can trust.”

“I ’ve used Jessica three times now to do drop-ins with my dogs while I was out of town, and I’d highly recommend her! She’s reliable, communicates great, and always gives me peace of mind knowing my dogs are well cared for.”

“I’m very pleased to have found Caitlyn to help with my 3 kitties. One requires an inhaler, which is not easy to administer since he hates it, but she was very patient with him making sure he got the treatment he needs. My cats can be shy, but I can tell from the pictures that they enjoyed Caitlyn’s company. I’m grateful to have someone I can trust to help with my sweet boys!”

“Jennifer was great! She was very flexible when our flight was delayed, canceled, and rebooked. She was very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and kept Kano fed and happy. She was also very respectful of the house and even cleaned up after Kano when he got sick and had a hairball. We’re very happy we found Jennifer and we’ll be using her again!”

“Luisa is timely and we’ve used her twice to check in on our kitties. One of our kitties can be a bit territorial so we are grateful that she is so fearless and willing to check in on him. She sends us great photos and updates on how the kitties are doing while we are gone”

“Ava was amazing, a life saver. We booked last minute and she was super accommodating, flexible, and kind with our animals. We have a dog and 3 cats. Will book again!”

“Addie is INCREDIBLE! She is prompt with her responses and was quick to respond to my inquiry and schedule a meet and greet. It is clear she cares about animals and wants them to feel safe with her. She has gone out of her way to make the most of her time with my shy baby every time she’s there, and had given me detailed reports and pictures. I couldn’t recommend her more! Thank you, Addie!”

“She’s an amazing pet sitter and I would definitely use her again! She went above and beyond and learned how to administer my cat’s inhaler so he wouldn’t miss a dose for his asthma while I was gone! My three kitties were so timid, but she still made sure they were comfortable and brought their meals to where they were hiding so they would still eat. Loved all the photos of my babies too so I could see how they were doing!”

Caitlyn did an amazing job with my cats! One is over 20 years old and the other requires medication, and she handled both with great care. She was always on time, thorough with her Rover cards, and sent lots of wonderful photos. I felt completely at ease knowing my cats were in such good hands. I highly recommend her and will definitely be a repeat customer!

This is my second time booking with Addie and couldn’t recommend her more. I am confident that she will be reliable, respectful, and loving with my cat. I appreciate that she stays for the whole time making sure the animal feels the love and attention, and she is excellent with her updates and quick responses!

I met Becca last week before this visit and had a great first visit going over the details of care for my Geriatric Cat. Becca communicated with me every step of the way and took pictures throughout her visit. I know Sneakers enjoyed the attention. When I got home, he was sleeping in his box and everything looked great! Thank you so much for loving on Sneakers.

Ashland was excellent with our dogs Chloe and Mochi. She played with them and they truly enjoyed her company, and care! Ashland is punctual , and well versed in doggie care. Photos were sent every visit which eased our minds, Will be using Ashland in the future for sure!
Maria was wonderful with Penny for a few drop in visits while I was away! Penny is a senior cat who hides a lot and sometimes soils outside of the box when stressed. Maria always made sure to find where she was hiding, bring extra food and water closer to her, and give her lots of love. She even cleaned up the accidents which was so helpful. Maria is our go-to any time we travel!

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
