Availability

Pet sitting / dog walking is my fulltime job, so as long as I still have availability, I'm willing to help! Please know that I am not a morning person, so visits before 10am and house sittings requiring waking before 8am cost extra. I'm also willing to do short or long walks. Slow or fast pace (for exercise). I'm even willing to walk up to 2-3 hours, if desired. Please be aware that I charge a fee for time/gas/car-wear if you're more than 4 miles from me. The amount depends on how far you are. I don't normally travel more than 8 miles (I'm willing, but it will cost more). I'm located near Dunhill Dr, Longwood, FL 32750. For House Sittings, I sleep there and spend 18-20+ hours per day there, but I do tend to take pet visit and/or dog walk jobs from other clients throughout the day. I try to space them out whenever possible, so your pet isn't alone for too long. If 18-20+ hours per day isn't enough I am able to stay there for the entire day (without leaving) if you schedule well in advance, but this costs significantly more. I also charge extra for Thanksgiving day and Christmas day, above and beyond my holiday pricing.

Safety, trust & environment

When meeting new dogs, I tend to let them smell my hand first, while addressing them by name and speaking in a high pitched voice. Then petting / scratching, when it seems like they're cool with me. Most dogs I've met seem to take a liking to me fairly quickly. In regards to walking specifically, I tend to let them smell around as much as they want, so they get the most enjoyment out of it. And when other dogs come around, I tend to tighten up on the leash a bit and maintain distance, just in case. Dogs are often unpredictable when encountering other dogs, and I don't want either side to get hurt. I also carry an airhorn during walks, just in case another dog comes charging at us. In addition to that, I carry a small bowl and a water bottle, so if it's extra hot we can take a water break in the shade. I also have a spare collar and leash, in case anything happens to the either, during a walk. In regards to house sitting / visits, I do whatever the pet likes and/or what is requested of me by the client. However I do not offer to give injectable medication.

A typical day

For dogs, I love going on walks! I tend to give them 3 walks a day (about 30 minutes in morning, 15 in afternoon, and about 45 during early evening). During house sittings, I throw in walks for free! For all pets, I love both playing & cuddling, and make a point to provide both to all pets in the home, several times a day.

Pet care experience

*PLEASE READ; I require various questions be answered before taking on new clients. I also require a meet & greet. If you're looking for an immediate & non-communication hire, please seek another sitter. *HUSKY DISCOUNT; I've decided to give a discount to anyone who needs husky (or similar northern wolf-dog care (Malamutes, etc)). Because I love them. I've always loved dogs & cats. When I learned from my sister that it was actually easy (with Rover) to do dog walking & pet sitting as a job, it seemed too good to be true. So often, people complain about hating their jobs, and eventually growing to dislike their lives in general, because of it. So if I can do something I love, while making a living and helping people and their pets, it seems a no-brainer, to me. I have two dogs of my own and and have walked them every day for about 10 years now. Sky, my husky, is a bit older (about 13) and was morbidly obese about a year or so ago due to another family member overfeeding her for years (they're family dogs). But, after I took over her feeding & started upping her walking, her health and energy have vastly improved. Here's a video of her playing with our black lab, Rue (a year ago, she had trouble just standing up). https://youtu.be/OoWdZLZey8w I volunteer twice a week at Seminole County Animal Services. I also helped raise a kitten once, years ago (see pictures). My Dad, who i visit every three weeks, has 8 cats, so i also spend a good amount of time with kitties as well. If you're new to Rover, use the below code to get $20 off your first booking with me. Promo Code: ZACHAA42930 I also offer 5 and 15 minute visits and/or walks, for a discounted rate. This duration will not show up as a selectable option, as it's not supported in Rover's system, so I have to go in and manually adjust the pricing myself. If interested in these durations just let me know in your messages to me.

Zach did an amazing job taking care of our two Golden Retrievers and cat while our regular Rover sitter was on vacation. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he genuinely loves animals, and that really showed in the way he cared for our dogs and cat. He was incredibly energetic, giving them plenty of exercise, attention, and playtime, while also making sure they stayed on their normal routine. Zach was extremely thorough with every aspect of their care, and his communication and updates gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It's not easy trusting someone new with your pets, but he exceeded our expectations in every way. We came home to two happy, well cared for pets, and we wouldn't hesitate to book him again. We highly recommend Zach to anyone looking for someone who is caring, dependable, and truly passionate about animals!

As always, Zach took great care of Charlie! He sends pics/videos and takes great care of our house also. Our trips are much more enjoyable knowing our sweet pup is in his care!

What a fantastic experience!!! We LOVED Zach. He went above and beyond and was fantastic about letting us know what was happening with all our pets at home. We rescued a very challenging Corgi 2 years ago from animal services, and he requires very specific EVERYTHING, which can make life a bit complicated. Zach did an amazing job with him and had a perfect, uneventful (thank God) experience with him and our other weirdos. THANK YOU ZACH!!
